Even though I’ve reached my senior years this is only my third ever camping trip in the UK but this will definitely encourage me to do more.

A beautiful site with amazing views, very hot and clean showers, good washing up facilities, very reasonable fees and close to lots of great hikes.

There’s a small food van on site for the weekends doing breakfasts and suppers, we ate at Slaters in the village where the pizza was fantastic and very reasonably priced. The pub on the other side of the road to Slaters looked great but was fully booked which probably tells you all you need to know!

We walked out to Cathedral Cave and back on a circular route, bit of a different experience scrambling up rocks to look into the cavern after viewing it from inside, then exiting by a long dark tunnel; take a torch and keep your head down. A lovely walk and not too hard on the knees.

Even the great British weather didn’t put me off!

 It was wonderful!

The view's were beautiful and it was peaceful.

Everyone was friendly and having the adorable lambs and sheep around just added to the natural beauty.

The facilities were clean and well maintained and the campsite had a large area to choose from.

For the price is was a bargain and in our delight we managed to see the northern lights!

If your hungry or needing WiFi there is a lovely little pub about a 8 minute walk, again so friendly!

Highly recommend to couples and families.

I don’t normally return to the same campsite, but washing up one evening I spoke to a lady who had been coming here for the last 20 years. I might do the same for the next 20 !

Stunning location; excellent shower/wash up facilities. And need I say more but a fabulous idea of an honesty box to purchase home made cake. Let’s just say the Lemmon drizzle helped the climb up Scarfell Pike.

Very laid back and basic campsite with amazing views.

Clean toilet block and facilities with a breakfast van on site.

The site was busy during our visit but it never felt that way as everyone seemed to be like minded and all appreciative of the surroundings

Basic campsite with good robust facilities at the farm, a short walk from the riverside meadows. Can be (was) windy.

Nice shelter for backpackers to cook in.

Village has pub and shop about 10 mins walk away.

My third visit - superb location for walking and climbing, ; narrow access road and bridge.

Breakfast butty van and pizzas at summer weekends.

Picked this site as it was on my walking route. When I arrived, I was greeted in a courteous fashion - the owner was doing a daily clean of the showers, which meant they were spotless.

There were no additional charges for showers, which was great, and they were hot with plenty of changing room. Homemade cakes were on sale via an honesty box system.

The facilities were basic for a campsite - potable water, toilet, shower, bins, washing up point - which is really all you need.

I think this place is a hidden gem, right at the heart of a number of great walks.

 Loved this "proper" campsite

Wide range of campers, some overnight backpacking/cycling some with larger sets ups. Bbq's gazebos, flags bunting staying fir a week a more, & D of E/expedition groups.

Fantastic location, huge choice of pitches over 4/5 fields, loads of space to choose from. Good job as no advance bookings. Clean hot showers, good washiing up facilities, also a covered area for cooking if weather is really bad. Owner bakes cakes with honesty box for payment.

Quite noisy with wildlife & livestock as working farm. Also first time I have ever seen a peacock whilst camping lol! Dog friendly. All others campers very friendly.

Absolutely loved it, can't wait to go back.

Lovely campsite enjoyed how quiet it was considering there with kids and dogs.

Could really do with another set of toilets facilities in the middle as it's a far walk to top of campsite if staying lower down

Fantastic site, found a good level pitch, grass is kept short so dries out quickly.

Very peaceful and the baying of the belted Galloways was music in the beautiful Langdale valley.

The facilities are sturdy and basic but kept very clean. You cannot teach some people to clean up after themselves (if you know what I mean) on camp facilities.

Location is excellent if you are walking or just relaxing.
