Really nice campsite has lots on for children.

The toilet and shower block could be kept cleaner, kept finding toilets with no toilet roll, also would like it better if dogs were allowed in restaurant,

Apart from that had a nice stay.

Stunning location, friendly staff & fellow site users.

Very limited flat areas for camping but numerous good pitches for campervans/ motorhomes/ caravans.

We were pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews! Had good pitch close to toilet/showers.

Although the building was still closed for maintenance, the temporary (maybe?) portacabin was fine

Good clean showers and we saw the cleaner in there twice a day. The shower cubicles were very small.

Beach is a bonus and we had fish and chips one night from takeaway which was delicious!

Close to Dunrobin castle which really is worth a visit

 Good site and location.

As per other reviewers the toilet block could do with more attention. A more regular clean and I think the complaints may go away.

Disabled toilet were unclean, water on floor, drain choked. In two days the only thing that had been changed was the toilet roll.

Door constantly open to anyone.

Showers need constantly clean as some people left a mess.

Otherwise a family friendly park.

Night time reception team [ 8pm] not the most helpful took the shine off our visit.

The campsite is large and away from the town of Dornoch.

Actually located in Embo so you will need a bike or be prepared for a long walk.

Site was clean and amenities were excellent

But not for older people unless you like a lot of noise as more of a younger persons place with entertainment and barbecues till all hours of the night, children running around till gone 11.

Beautiful location with lots of places to visit

This was a return visit, having previously visited 4 years ago. Nothing much has changed, very little investment other than some improvements to the play park. The place has been neglected and falls short in many areas.

The Good: It’s a fantastic location and has a nice beach which could be so much better if it were swept and some facilities added.

Plenty to see in the area, from the lovely town of Dornoch, which is a short walk away, to a road trip to John o’Groats.

The Bad: Pitches are uneven and are defined by a post which you must centre your outfit by. The water/ waste point is boggy, could easily be resolved by laying some gravel.

Toilet block is run down, not maintained or cleaned properly. I went into the gents straight after the “deep clean” and there was still grass in and around the shower tray. Taps that constantly run, toilet not flushing, 1 out of 4 showers out of order for the full week. My wife advised the ladies was in similar condition.

In times like these the toilets should be cleaned more regularly and to a higher standard. We stopped using the toilet block and used our own facilities. This lack of cleanliness applied to the entertainment venue toilets and the launderette.

The reception/ entertainment venue had missing cladding, exposing the insulation. It has been like this for some time, yet wouldn’t cost much to repair.

The chippy serves frozen chips, but the fish was nice. The restaurant was closed throughout. The castle Hotel in Dornoch has a nice beer garden and is reasonably priced. I had the best pizza I have ever had outside of Italy.

We decided we would not return to this site without it getting refurbished. We will return to the area.

Easy to find and navigate around. Great spot by the beach and all alone. Staff at reception were lovely and helpful.

Bar staff relayed a tirade of information on arrival! Didn’t take most of it in. The food we ordered was terrible, in a pizza box, that’s all they had, and was cold by the time I got it back! The skin on fries were not as advertised - they were deep fried frozen chips! They smelt like fish (probably as they were fried in the same oil!) so as a vegan I could not eat these. I realise things are different with COVID regulations but it was very poor and we did not eat there again. Money missed!
