A brilliant site for the camper, good facilities, friendly staff in Ross and Co, -

Pay on site, not online in advance, - no list of do's and don'ts beyond sensible camping etiquette.

Dog friendly.

Chose you own spot to set up camp, not overcrowded, - secluded areas if

you want.

Nice little camp site very busy at that time of year

It is no frills camping but for what you pay its good value.

We found a flat area but some are on a slope.

The staff are on site all day in case of any problems.

They also sell tea and coffee snacks and other useful items.

Been before, all about the same, friendly owners, basic toilet shower block,

Tea coffee and bits and pieces from owners caravan,

Handy to get into town,

Watch out for bottom field can get boggy, and noisy from road traffic,

All in all we enjoyed ourselves, but we are mature biker's and can camp anywhere.

Our kind of site. The owners were very friendly and kept the (basic) facilities clean. And you could pitch where you wanted to.

There were plenty of walks from the site and a bus stop just outside to get back from Weymouth, Lulworth etc.

We will return and plan to stay for longer next time.

We had a lovely long weekend at Osmington Mills Corner Campsite. It's a beautiful spot in a great location, with a lovely relaxed feel. Yes the facilities are pretty basic but for £16 per night you can't complain as the cost of camping in the UK is going up all the time. Lack of hot water for dishwashing and hand washing is a bit of a pain but the showers are adequate and free.

The site was busy - not surprising post lockdown and with a lot of children not in school. The site does lend itself to, and attracts larger groups, but the terraced layout means that you can also find a more secluded spot if you are on your own or just a small group. Lack of marked spaces can be a risk but if you choose your spot carefully you can usually get plenty of space. It was busy and full when we were there but didn't feel overcrowded.

Be prepared for a little bit of a slope but the natural terracing means there are plenty of reasonably flat area. What you do get are lovely views of the surrounding countryside, including George III on his horse! Great for stargazing on a a clear night as well. There is a dairy farm shop next door with a small delicatessen and tea shop.

Sadly the local village pub is closed and up for sale, but the Smugglers Arms which is an reasonable 25 minute walk over the fields has adapted very well to social distancing and still offers great food and drink (you are advised to book and only get 90 mins at your table though).

We also walked through Osmington Village and across the fields on a lovely flat 40 minute walk to the SpringHead Inn at Sutton Poyntz which is also great for food and drink.

There are loads of things to do in the area. Osmington Mills has a beach but it is quite rocky has steps down. If you clamber along you can get to a shingle beach where you can swim. There is another small beach at Ringstead Cove (40 mins walk, or drive) or if you follow the coastal path in the direction of Weymouth after a couple of miles there are steps down to what looks like a lovely long, secluded shingle beach.

We did the walk to Weymouth which naturally had its ups and downs (being the coastal path) but wasn't excessively challenging and took about 90 minutes to get to Bowleaze Cove at the end of Weymouth Beach - its shingle but has several bars and food offers so makes a good day out.

Second stay in two weeks! Busier this time and we were told we could move to wherever we wanted as other campers left after the weekend. As we were in a camper van we tried 3 different spots over 4 nights! Warden friendly as before.

Great relaxed atmosphere and considerate campers all round.

Very basic, regularly cleaned facilities. Nice hot showers. Only 9/10 as washing up station only has cold water taps.

A very basic campsite but perfect for a nice weekend away, no set pitches or check on or out times, toilets and showers are basic but available an at £15 a night all year round you can't knock it.

Basic milk ect sold from a little caravan on site aswel as tea and coffee and reasonable priced toys,

10 mins drive for Weymouth and a short walk to a pub icecreams sold at the dairy farm next door.

Owners very helpful and nothing was too much trouble

 Good points:

Owners greet you near entrance to pay and have kites, bbqs, food, drink for sale on the gate

Very nice clean site children friendly

Located near many shops and not to far from the town

Hot showers, toilets and sinks to wash up

Very close to pub and horses/deer

Feels like a safe site everyone friendly

Bad points

It is not a sea view as shown in pictures

Weymouth is around a 15 minute drive away could not walk it

Not great for disabled access and the campsite is not level (not an issue for us)

Showers need somewhere to put clothes and wipe feet after

Cold water to wash up (didn't bother us)

Cannot wait to camp again

Was recommended this site by a friend. Was worried after reading reviews. So will try and leave a honest reviews for others. Arrived at the campsite and no wardens present so was free to pitch up wherever, pitches not marked so nice to pick your own spot. After driving round a little found a nice pitch quiet high up. The ground is Un level in places and is almost in steps up (if that makes sense!) the site itself is well maintained and wardens very pleasant giving advise on beaches, chip shops etc, and a little stocked caravan with bits and pieces for kids and selling tea, coffee hot chocolate etc. The toilets are basic but very clean and also the showers the same. The showers don't have doors just thick plastic like material you hook up but did provide a baby bath, fab for bathing my three year old in inside the shower cubicle. For £15 a night it is a fab site 5 mins from Weymouth and about 15 minutes from lulworth cove. Worth a visit if like a relaxing no frills campsite. Will defo return. Hope this is helpful
