We stayed tues to fri to visit family. The site was peaceful, there were lots of caravans but these seemed mainly to be set up with long term/seasonal campers.
There’s a large bar/restaurant and games room on site but as it was outside of school holidays and weekends, nothing was open.
The local pub only opened on Thursday too and there are NO shops in Tavernspite and nobody delivers food so plan ahead.
It’s only a short walk into Tavernspite which has a garden centre and cafe & visited the Alpha Inn on the Thursday night - very welcoming and great food & drink.
Toilet & shower block could do with updating & don’t forget your 20ps if you want hot water.
In summary, it suited our needs for visiting family but probably wouldn’t stay again.

Fabulous family site. We were very impressed with the playground and huge football pitch. Very clean and safe place. Lovely food in pub.
It is really hard to believe that such busy campsite is run by three very nice and helpful staff. They were very polite and helpful.
I really highly recommend Pantglas Farm Caravan and Camping Site. We can't wait to come back again.

We have just come back from a 7 night stay at Pant Glas Farm. I have to say it was one of the worse experiences I have had on a campsite in all the years being a camper and caravaner.
The start of the week was quite pleasant even though the Welsh weather tried it hardest to put a dampener on things. The staff were also pleasant and helpful.
The Toilets showers and washing up facilities although not the worst I have seen really requires updating. Some taps don't work and the hot tap was not hot in the women's toilets. Two toilets were also constantly blocked and didn't flush properly. The showers were hot especially in the men's but the fittings in the shower didn't hold up with the shower head constantly sliding and moving about on the holder. The cost of 20p for showers and washing up is fair being that the campsite is cheap to book. Although you don't get much hot water for 20p in the washing up area.
The real issue with the site is the noise. As I could see the only electric pitches for tents were adjacent to the park which is used by the kids (rightly) all day and well after it is dark. This wasn't policed at all. This paled compared to the large group of campers who were all together that arrived mid week. The last time I had experienced anything like this was on an 18-30 site in Cornwall. Music was pumping until 3. 00 in the morning. People drunk and I suspect worse than drunk, shouting screaming and singing to the tops of their voices in the early hours of the morning. The owner only came out when they jumped on the parks zip wire and didn't even mention to keep the noise down but more concerned about the damage that could have been caused to the park. It was so bad on the last night of our stay that I considered phoning the police as I felt it was becoming unsafe for my family.
There were some of these morons pitched together so close that their guy ropes were touching. This was a serious breach of the fire regs. Social distancing (which is still compulsory in Wales at the time of writing) was also a bit of a joke.
I know this is a holiday park and I enjoy a good holiday like everyone else but this behaviour is unacceptable on a family site.
We stayed on this site 7 years ago which was a modern quiet site and are shocked how rundown it has become.

Very pleasant people could not have been more helpful showed us to our pitch, the water tap and electric. We then had to try and get level our caravan on a very sloping pitch that had huge stones on it not just small shingle, we put up our awning and could not walk around without shoes as the stones very so big.
The toilet block looked newish but when you went inside it was dark and dismal with 4 toilets only one was bright (by the window the others were very dark) although they were 'cleaned ' every day it was a cursory clean as the duct and dirt on the woodwork had been there many months the 2 showers had black mould on the tiles the very small toiletries holder was black and grimy and did not stay on wall. The showers were 20p.
The sinks (3) had 2 taps but the hot taps did not work so only cold water there was hand wash and paper towels. The taps swivelled round when touched. All in all although the site was very quiet we felt the facilities really let it down and will not be returning.
I suppose when it was just managed by the 2 people we saw and owned by a large company it was not surprising all they want is the money.

This Site would appear to be mainly for regular sited Caravans, The pitches are poorly maintained with the hardstandings resembling building rubble. The site in general looks pretty tired.
The majority of pitches we saw were mainly unlevel and levelers were needed. The toilet facilities are basic and reminded me of School playing field facilities of the late 1950s With no hot water in the ladies washbasins despite a sign saying 'Very hot water!', there is a 20p charge for the showers for four min's and a 20p charge for hot water in the dish washing area There is also a charge for Visa debit card's!
We didn't visit the Bar so I can't comment on that. The plus points of the site are there is a good dog exercise area and also a good children's play area.
Would I use it again?. Only a one night stop whilst on route to somewhere else.

I only been down pantglas farm a few times. I read all the reviews, a lot of them are a load of nonsense.
I been up the club house and had a great welcome off everyone. I went up there and even dressed you. If you going to sit in the corner and don't talk to anyone people going to think you want to be left alone. Everyone there is trying to do same thing to make to site a better place.
So keep it up you doing a great job and if I can do anything just let me know cos I be down there a lot and there's a dart board. Ha ha love this site. Rhiannon is helpfully with everything.
Thank you everyone

Overall it is a nice site, but there are one or 2 things that could make it a bit better.
I'll start with those, the hard standing pitch we were on was quite sloping and took a while to get the van level (but we did manage it).
But this did make it very well draining and the amount of torrential rain we had that was very useful.
The hard standing could do with a bit of work, the rocks where you pitch your awning need to be smaller as it makes walking in your awning without shoes on very uncomfortable.
We also found the grass around our pitch was quite long with made the trip to the car a wet shoe experience every time, if it was raining or not.
The earlier comment about the resident kids in the park is true to a certain extent, but as the rain kept coming our kids hardly had time to use it anyway.
Now onto other things, The toilets were very clean and well looked after. Shower is 20p for about 4 minutes hot water but I'd rather do that for a temperature control and adjustable shower head, than the 20 second push button scolding sometimes dished out.
Rhiannon who looks after the site and is very helpful and with a bit of effort is quite easy to find somewhere on site.
There is a bar which is of a good size ( although Radio 1 blearing out a full volume when there is only a couple of people in there is a bit off putting) there is also a small games room with a pool table and an outside seating area which is great to have a drink at in the evening while the kids are in the park.
Wifi reception is very good via camping connect and it was £15 for 3 devices for 7 days which compared to a lot of sites is not bad.
Would I go back. Not sure, we were put off by days on end of torrential rain and there doesn't seem to be a whole lot to do in that area of Wales that isn't outside. If the site was located somewhere else I probably would, but I may not visit this part of Wales again.

A very well set out site, with a small club house and good size park for the children. But with the site being predominantly sited caravans it was obvious that tourers and tents were frowned upon. We visited with our three children, and immediately found that the resident children laid the law down in the park.
This might sound petty, but 14 and 15 year olds are intimidating to 10 year olds and 5 year old girls. The club was small but nice, with a small games room available. The residents were not approachable or helpful, and made it awkward in their parking on the roads outside their sited touring caravans.
No shop on site. Security does not exist so anyone can come in and when the park is right by the road that's asking for trouble. Very over priced as we paid £80 for three nights for two adults and three children.
The manageress was helpful to a point when you could find her.
That's our view.

Had a fantastic week here with my friend, our kids and dogs. Joy and Mike could not have been nicer, they are helpful, friendly and welcoming. Site is spotless and well cared for/maintained. The clubhouse is great value and we were happy to spend our evenings and money in there. We left it late to book and so no EHU left but the owners will charge devices and freeze ice packs for you so we discovered that you don't really need electric after all! We were in the tent field with loads of room for the kids and dogs to play. We had glorious weather so spent every day on the beach - Amroth and Coppet Hall. We look forward to returning next year!

We have just returned from a lovely week at Pantglas Farm over the Easter Weekend and second week of Childrens Holidays. We arrived with our Tourer and we were given a pitch close to the playground that was perfect for our 9 year old daughter, she enjoyed the Zip Wire amongst other equipment. The Toilet & Shower Block were spotless and I really enjoyed the Shower, it was 20p in the shower but I was happy to pay for this based on the facilities.
The owners (Joy & Mike) were very helpful and made us feel welcome, in relation to the site it seems that it is mainly Seasonal Pitches and Stored Caravans that are pulled out for owners who pre arranged so there was no Tourers/Motor Caravans really coming or going but this could be due to the time of year and during the Summer it may be different.
I did engage with a few of the Seasonal pitch residents, some were friendly and other not so or just wanted to keep themselves to themselves, we also ventured up to the on site Bar that opens during peak times, (reasonably Prices) it seemed everyone knew each other but not so friendly towards new faces and whilst that is not any issue of the Sites It would have been great to try and engage with other Holiday makers. The Site put on a Juggler/Entertainer for the kids plus interaction with Tricks after the show and unlike us our Daughter made loads of friends. (We may need to ask her advice).
Pantglas is a good base to explore and we certainly did this We would return to Pantglas Farm in the future.
