Message from site owners: Campsite area is closed during 2022, whilst involved in a site wide scheme that is being worked on in order to create hopefully a much better experience for our visitors. While we can never say never, I think it is unlikely it will open this year unfortunately.

Very nice small site only 12 pitches at moment. Very clean facilities. Easy access from main road.
Some road noise but not too intrusive. Plenty of nice walks around camp.
No shop on site but cafe available in daytime.

Very noisy at night after 12am, people arguing and children crying, car skidding round the site late at night.
Also no level pitches so our fridge would not work.
Very disappointed.

Great little site run by the Council. Toilets & Showers immaculate. Site water could do with extending to other areas of the camp, just one. Facilities excellent, Cafe, Coffee shops, Kids Play area, Dog friendly, Great walk around the reservoir.
Very near to A1, M1, M18. Worth a visit or nip in to break up a long journey.

Part of a country park used by residents of the surrounding urban conurbation. Be warned, you are meant to book in advance and give £100 refundable deposit. This might indicate they are used to vandalism and in fact I was there two nights and on the second night a visitor had his car window smashed.
There did not seem to be anyone on site at night, the only security being CCTV ?
Apart from this it is a pleasant site with a large lake, 2. 5 Km walk and cafe.
The toilet block was clean and well maintained, showers free to use and plenty big enough for the size of the site.
Pitches were well spread out but not totally flat ( but just ok) Whilst I was there the grass needed cutting.

Selected site for location. A good site but most of the pitches are on a slight slope and drainage in some areas is poor. Good hot showers, generally clean facilities. The only concern is that of site security as no on site warden. Staff are there during the day but after 6pm no staff are available, there is a 24hr phone number.
There is a cafe and ice cream parlour next yo the site and a kids play area. These are all 'off site' and open to the public.
Overall an OK site but over priced for what is offered.
