Good location for the forest & all its activities!

Friendly helpful staff & very tidy & clean facilities!

Would definitely stay there again as there was a choice of good size pitches and you were allowed to choose where you wanted to pitch!

AS the site was just off the A38 very convenient for an overnight stop after coming off a ferry at Plymouth.

Adjacent to the racecourse.

Good sized pitches in the open and very accessible motorhome service point.

Facilities block adequate with plenty of hot water.

Quite honestly, this isn't up to normal CAMC standards.

It's a managed site on behalf of the Jockey Club, who are responsible for facilities provision and maintenance.

The showers are particularly of poor quality, and other provisions (water, waste etc) are rather substandard. It's ok as an emergency stopover, but that's all.

It's fairly easy to find provided you know where the racecourse is, and probably useful to use for exploring the area.

 Staff friendly and helpful.

Showers and toilets are not of the latest model but clean and functioned well.

Plenty of hot water in the showers. Service points well positioned.

We stay there for one night.

The campsite is really organised and clean, the owner was very helpful.

It´s a extraordinary and wonderful place to camp.

Second time that we have used this site as a stopover on the way to Cornwall because it is literally a minute away from the A38. Wardens are friendly and helpful and toilets and showers are old but kept clean an serviceable.

There is a shop on the other side of the A38 for necessities but it can be a bit pricey.

Site is very open so can be quite windy but has nice views across the racecourse.

There is a very short slip road when re joining the A38 westbound so be prepared.

We will use this site again.

We stayed here for just one night on route for Cornwall. It was ideal for us. Close to the A38, helpful staff, good facilities.

As it was just for one night we were a little mean and decided for the cheap none EHU option. For dog walking there was a long slightly rough path that followed the racecourse.

We appeared to be allowed to walk anywhere. Showers and toilets were all OK.

It was restful break in our journey and saved us being too tired when we finally made it to Falmouth.

We stayed here for just one night on our way to Plymouth for the ferry. It's a pleasant open site with good views and there's a nice walk around the racetrack.

We got a friendly cheerful welcome from the warden who told us to pitch where we liked. There's a mixture of grass and hard standing pitches, and there's a motorhome service point. It's up on a hill so it can be a bit windy.

The showers are a bit dated but ther were clean and gave a powerful supply of hot water.

This really is a pleasant site, and good value for money. We paid just over £15 including electricity.

Arrived at site 45mins early no problem lady warden booked my wife and myself onto site for one week, this was the first time we had stopped at this site and the lady gave us some advice re- the area.

The weather for the week was just about the worst you could get ie, high winds, rain, hard rain, then all three together, this did not stop the wardens doing a fine job they cleaned the toilet block and other duties in very bad weather yes people complained the toilet block was old but let me inform you these toilets are very clean and warm also the water was very hot I am one of people who likes to stand under hot water when I shower these showers never gave just luke warm water.

People forget this site a managed agreement with the racecourse and the club cannot just do things £14. 30 a night not a bad price to pay for a nice pitch good views etc yes some road noise but I will return to this club site.

We stayed at this site as a stopover from Cornwall for 2 nights. Glad we did not stay any longer. The toilet block and showers are so old could only get a trickle of water! There are seasonal pitches on the site and commercial vehicle being left on pitch. The wardens are very laid back, a lot of speeding on the site roads which kicks up a lot of dust. Supposed to be 5 mph. The site is split into 2 sections, the main one and one amongst trees away from the main site. The campers from the other one use their vehicles early morning to use the facilities. Campers washing fresh fish at the dish washing sinks is not really hygienic.

Visited Canonteign Falls, which cost £7. 50 admittance but was well worth it. A lovely walk to the top of the falls, 90 steps, great views and mostly under trees which was welcome on a hot day. There are also lakes and a cafe.
