Lovely campsite, pitches are a great size, fully serviced and well spaced out.
Toilets and wet rooms which have shower, toilet and wash basin are a good size with plenty of hot water and are spotless whatever time you use them.
Easy access to Carlisle which has plenty of shops and restaurants. Took a run to Penrith which was a lovely town. Easy access to M6 when going home.
You have to drive everywhere as the campsite is not near a bus stop but that was not a problem for us and we would definitely return in the future.

This stop at Green Acres was a stop off after visiting Moffat & Culzean castle Caravan & Camping Sites before heading home. We were given our pitch number & gate barrier number while we were in Scotland but the barrier didn't work as it had been updated & I didn't see it as no wifi on phone. Anyway after asking a resident we got through & parked up on our pitch.
The site is set out in 4 fields around the edges, its Adults only which is great for a total relaxing holiday.
The site is very thoughtfully thought out and the pitches are large. The toilet blocks are fantastic, the best we have been to along with The Old Oaks at Glastonbury.
There was a small block as you enter the site with 2 unisex showers/toilet & sink & also a separate mens & ladies loos/sinks. The larger block had 5 unisex showers/ loo/ sink & one disabled shower room.
There was also mens & ladies loos/sinks & hair dryers, a washing up section too. Nr the information hut was a self service shop, washers & dryers, a sports hall for darts, badminton etc, and an outdoors boules pitch.
There was a dog walk into fields at the back of the site. There is Houghton Hall garden centre not far from the site which had a lovely outdoor fruit shop. We found we needed to use the car to get to places from here.
We went into Carlisle one day, Gretna Green is 8 miles away, went there another, there was a wedding on when we got there & we had a ride to Hadrians Wall at Birdoswalk.
We didn't really see the owners while we were there, this tends to be the way things are going on individual sites, they give you a pitch number & gate info & if everything goes well you wouldn't know who the owners are.
Wifi was free but not all pitches can get it. The site was immaculate & again very handy as a stop off further North as 2 miles from Motorway.
I have had to give a mark for customer service but didn't see anyone so cant mark higher

Definitely one of the best sites we've stayed on and excellent value for money. Adults only and a very tranquil site.
Lovely warm welcome from the owners after the secure barrier. Absolutely brilliant new facilities block with individual toilet, shower and basin washroom.
Lovely flat fully serviced pitches that we stayed on, also noticed a few seasonal pitches. Sports hall with badminton, table tennis, pool, darts etc. Outside a bowels area and BBQ area.
Small honesty shop, laundry room, caravan/car wash area.
All set in lovely countryside with so much to see in the area including Hadrians wall, Aircraft museum, Motorcycle museum, Gretna Green and designer outlet in Gretna.
And only a short drive to the Lakes.

This is a well maintained and tidy site, with open areas. Modern toilets and showers. The games hall ( with badminton, pool and table tennis) is a bonus if the weather is bad.
Other added bonuses are, an on site self service shop, barbeque area and a car/ caravan pressure washer area.
The only (slight) downside (for me) is I would have preferred smaller shower/toilet/change cubicles than the very large ones provided, meaning more could have been fitted into the same building. Some other people we spoke to on site enjoyed the extra space though.
Overall I have to put Green Acres into one of the best sites we have been on.

We enjoyed our stay at Green Acres Caravan Park very much a lovely relaxing stay the owners Mike and Josie are very helpful and friendly.
The facility’s are second to none absolutely beautiful luxury showers and beautifully clean.
A perfect site to stay and visit Historic Carlisle with the castle and cathedral the shops and restaurants in Carlisle are not to be missed.
Close by is the charming market town of Brampton.
And the Lake District is not to far away.
You can also travel 8 miles to Gretna and get married if you take the notion.
We will definitely visit Green Acres again and again.

This was a stopover site for us on way to do a 3 week tour of Scotland and we stayed on the way up and on the way back.
It is an immaculately kept site.
Very easy to book and turn up. Facilities are outstanding, huge wet rooms, big dog walk field etc.
Lovely quiet spot even though not very far from motorway.
We will definitely return when up this way again.
Thank you to the owners.
