This may be the nearest site to Dublin but it's still a busy 21-mile drive to the ferry port, so leave plenty of time and don't forget to pay the toll for the M50 circular online!

We just stayed one night before the ferry and that was quite enough. The facilities are worn out, with a tepid shower costing one euro and a queue for sinks in the kitchen.

The site is more suited to the groups of noisy young people in tents, with access to the city by bus.

The price of 44 euros did not reflect the quality of the site, just its proximity to the capital.

Free WiFi was only available around Reception, and a non-refundable 50% deposit was required when booking.

The site was lovely and clean

The people were very friendly that were on the campsite and the staff were very helpful with giving us directions into into city centre, showed us exactly where to go and the no of the buses

Would definitely recommend this campsite to my friends and family

Will definitely be back

This was the closest site to Dublin City we could find and we were charged well for the proximity. It was 43 euro a night at the beginning of June plus 1. 5 euro for a shower.

The site is located next to parkland but just off the N9 which is very busy so expect some background traffic noise. The further away from the front gate you get the quieter it is.

This is a transit site for those visiting Ireland's fair city so the daily turnover is high with a lot of continental travellers staying for a night or two.

Reception is quite large and the staff will give you all the information you need about transport plus maps. The Number 69 bus picks up at the site gates and will deliver you into the middle of Dublin for 2. 60 euro payable in exact coins. The journey takes up to an hour and the bus can get quite full.

The sanitary facilities have seen better days and are only superficially cleaned with a power hose. I suspect it could have been several weeks since any surfaces were cleaned with a cloth. It’s not the sort of place you want to drop your towel on the floor. The decor is dated and they are badly in need of an upgrade. Even at 1. 50 euro a time the water was only just warm.

The hard standing pitches are separated by hedges and almost all have a grey water outlet, water tap and power. There’s wifi a reception but not across the park.

There’s a Tesco and Aldi nearby and takeaways’ and pubs within a 5 min drive.

If you need to be near Dublin this is a good location but the facilities need upgrading and in my view it’s a ripoff. If visiting Dublin again I will select a site further away and use the train.

 Pros:

- Practical, convenient and cheap.

- Friendly host. Good transport links. Lots of space between tents.

Cons:

Cold showers. Motorway noise (very background, we forgot it was there but some people care a lot about these things)

We didn't care about the cons particularly and we cared a lot about the pros.

5 stars.

 Nicely situated, busy site.

Good access for Dublin on a bus and taxis readily available to book.

Didn’t use the facilities, used own.

Very busy, choose your own pitch.

We took the new tolled tunnel out from the Dublin ferry, only €3 non peak times and cuts out some of the busier city roads. The campsite is easy to find and very straightforward, approx 25 minutes from the port.

On arrival there were 6 or 7 other units, still super speedy check-in within 5 minutes and all relevant information re buses to city etc. The Open Top Tour bus calls at the site in the morning, if you only want to go to the city and not to the tour its €2. 50 one way.

The pitches were very big, room for caravan, car, awning and similar awning space again for chairs etc. All pitches had water taps, grey drains and ehu.

Loos were clean and well maintained, showers an extra €2 a head, we didn't use so cant comment.

Despite the site being very busy on a Saturday night it wasn't at all noisy. There was some road noise but we pitches at far end and that limited.

Lovely park next door for walking, cycling etc. Nothing much else around the site as its a large business park area although there was a restaurant / bar within 10 minutes walk.

Overall a lovely campsite which has the bonus of being easy to reach from the ferry, as with most campsites in Eire more expensive than in UK at €30 (£27) plus €2 each for showers if used would be €34 per night for a couple.

Stayed here for one night to be near the ferry home.

The receptionist was very helpful, giving good information about the bus into Dublin and the sites facilities.

Each pitch has hard standing, plus a grass area and hook up, water tap and grey waste on the pitch.

There is a large amenities block, we used the showers( 2 € for a token) and the toilets were clean. There is a washing up area and laundry, but didn't use.

There is free wifi but we found the connection intermittent.

Other people have mentioned the road noise, I was glad I had ear plugs as it is a continuous low drone.

We went into Dublin on the bus, cost € 6. 60 return, worth doing.

Bit expensive at €27 for one night plus charge for shower, but good for one night if you want to be near Dublin for the ferry.

Spent 3 nights at this site at start of tour of Ireland. Easy access from main road and although some road noise we weren't disturbed by it.

Easy access into city centre by bus from gate (45 mins journey). Spent 2 hectic days site seeing & soaking up the Dublin atmosphere.

On arrival reception staff very helpful & provided a vast amount of information and we were advised to choose a pitch from those available. Facilities kept clean although could be updated (signs in toilet block advising some taps not working) large shower rooms with plenty of space for changing. Token required for showers but found this to be typical in Ireland. Big campers kitchen with washing up sinks.

Each pitch surrounded by hedges & lots of trees throughout site giving it a very rural feel with grey squirrels seen most days.

Many people appeared to use this site as a one night stop over (possibly for Ferry from Dublin)

In our experience campsites in Ireland are more expensive than in UK !

Would recommend this site for visitors to Dublin & will stay again.
