This is, without doubt, the best camp site that we have stayed on in the UK. It is our third visit and we would happily return again.

It is a small site, which we like, quiet and peaceful.

The showers and wash room building is excellent and set in an old Victorian building which makes it a bit more special. Another huge benefit is that the camp site is located behind the Powis Arms which sells superb beer and delicious meals.

All pitches have electrical hook up points and water taps.

Finally, the camping costs are extremely reasonable. We paid £99 for a 3 night stay that included hook up. Fantastic value!

Very expensive, £10 per night for electric is outrageous

It was a nice sunny few days the site should have been packed but there was only a few campers on

They will have to change pricing policy if they want to keep the site open

The elsen toilet is the worst we have ever tried to use, very poor

Would not return unless changes were made

Unfortunately so far as campers concerned, one of those sites photographed with a fisheye lens! Ok, if you're in a pitch with mega tents / campervans with hookup, but with just a simple tent the triangular plot shrinks down to only 4 or 5 paces wide - and that's for two pitches opposite each other.

Hot water at least in the shower / facilities block; and toilets with paper, if smelly! Nowhere to freeze a simple freezer block. Pub seemed too busy with large parties, so for example, no time for advertised additional weekend breakfasts.

Walcot Hall to which the pub is somehow linked, not really that open to the public which is a shame as its a nice area for walking. Not somewhere I'd rush back to.

We love this place so much we decided to stay another couple of nights. The staff are friendly and nothing is to much to ask of them.

The food is amazing and the breakfast is the best we have ever had. The showers and toilets are clean and kept tidy.

The pitches are large and have fantastic views all round. If it was possible to give 20/10 this site deserves it.

Lovely setting, good shower/toilet facilities, and Powis Arms pub food /service was excellent. Also access to the beautiful grounds of Walcot Hall.

Only downside was the ground was very soft, due to weather, but the site owners were very obliging, and allowed us to park on the hard-core drive, where we could still use EHU. This wasn't a problem as no- one else on site.

We would definitely come again, but check weather first!

Second visit to this campsite, very good clean facilities,

And of course very handy for the pub which served great food, you could also order a breakfast from 8. 30 in the morning,

Pitches were a generous size but could have the boundaries more clearly marked as people weren't sure as to where pitch their tents in relation to the markers.

Will definitely recommend and use again.

Tranquil area, nice friendly site,

Good pub on site and walks around Walcot Hall and nearby Biships castle are worthwhile,

Would definitely revisit again.

Lovely quiet site with all the essential facilities which were well maintained and clean (no extra charge for showers was a bonus).

I stayed midweek and found it very pleasurable and, had it not been so hot, a perfect location for walking in the South Shropshire countryside.

A nice feature was having a water tap at each numbered pitch.

Judging by the list at the entrance, it looks like the site gets extremely busy at weekends and both the main site and overflow field looked to be fully booked so I image it would be much less relaxing.

The pub does a good selection of beers and very nice food and it is also dog friendly.

This is a lovely campsite, situated behind a fabulous pub/restaurant. One of our party had a room in the pub and was very impressed with the room, the warm welcome and great service.

The rest of us were camping in various units, and were all very happy with the site, the beautiful surrounding countryside, and the very reasonable cost.

The only slight negative was the toilet/shower facilities, which were adequate, but the floor was constantly wet, and we all agreed they could do with some improvement. However, this was only a mild irritation and will not put us off booking again.

We ate in the pub one evening, and some of us stayed for Sunday lunch. The food and service were excellent.

We shall definitely return.
