Location was good and site had great potential, however the place looks to have gone down hill, the whole place had a folorn look, in fact it looked a mess. We saw the owner just the once when she took our money, told us the cafe, shop, was not operational. Not very friendly or helpful.
We had no trouble finding a pitch as we were the only ones there. The grass was long and it did not look as if it had been cut in ages. The so called electric supply to the pitch was 10 amp, but the supply kept tripping with just a kettle and evem once when we switched a light on, lucky we were not relying on it to cook by.
The bathroom block was poor standard, dirty, it was cleaned once while we there over a period of 8 days. By the time we left we were using our own toilet paper. In twenty years of camping we had never encountered such dirty washing and toilet facilities. In particular the men's bathroom was awful, completely lacking privacy for showers. A sign on the wall indicated that it was up to campers to keep the toilet and shower facilities clean, in the ladies there was a dirty mop and that was it!
The Elson point was an old domestic toilet sunk in the ground, flushed by a bucket and was also used for grey water which was too high to safely lift water containers on to.
The cafe on the website was one of the reasons wechose this site but it was not open and did not look as though it been open for ages.
There was a fridge freezer, washing machine and microwave that could be used by guests. These were in a dirty disgusting state in an old shed. No we did not use them just looking at them was enough. After 20 years of camping this is by far the worst site we have encountered.

We headed East for once, as booked Barmouth site was expecting 60 mph winds and rain, losing £200, but hey- ho. Poplar farm is a relaxed, reasonably priced old school campsite, with lovely, helpful owners.
Themed nights at weekends, we enjoyed jerk chicken, rice' peas on Jamaican night. Also very good cooked breakfasts, also at the weekend.
Plenty of space for the kids and no pressure to leave at a given time. We could have an off-ground fire and not a campsite with a thousand rules.
Plenty of very hot water, maybe too hot, and free showers. The only minuses were the toilets and facilities looked tired, and little privacy in the men's toilet/ shower.
Also the lights in the orchard too bright and lit up the night sky and tent. Nevertheless, a keeper

From arriving at the campsite until leaving we had a fantastic time.
Welcomed by Helen and Colin and we pitched our tent in the orchard with an electric hook up and not far from the water tap. Adequate toilets and showers.
There is a shop on site which sells handmade jams, chutneys, honey and mincemeat. They have an alcohol license and offer the most amazing afternoon teas with Prosecco as optional.
I have visited Poplar Farm at Sutton on Sea 8 times with friends and family and will visit it again,

Location was good and site had great potential, however there was no one to greet new arrivals or answer the phone so we had to guess where to pitch up.
The pitch area we found for a tourer and a tent had to be cleaned of dog muck before we set up and was an issue during the stay.
The 'new' bathroom block was poor standard, dirty and not cleaned for 3 days over the bank holiday. In particular the men's bathroom was awful, completely lacking privacy for showers and the floors flooded in the disabled & unisex cubicles. Signs on the walls said it was up to the guests to maintain cleanliness but the only equipment was a dirty mop!
The Elson point was an old domestic toilet sunk in the ground, flushed by a bucket and was also used for grey water which was too high to safely lift water containers on to.
The cafe on the website was one of the reasons our 2 families chose this site but it was not open.
Despite several phone calls to the owners as they were not seen on site there was no response to our concerns. After 15 years of caravanning and camping this is by far the worst site we have encountered.

We stopped at poplar farm over the jubilee bank holiday weekend. The reception was friendly and relaxed, it is a larger site than what it first appeared to us.
There is a mix of static, seasonal tourers and tourers along with tents, the hard standing seems to be for the seasonal pitches but there is several large grass fields which are level and have ehu.
We were directed to one of these fields and shown where the ehu pitchs were by the lovely owner.
It is a nice relaxed atmosphere with no strict pitching layout like some of the club sites and everyone was spread out so no rows of caravans on top of each other.
On the evening of our arrival day three was a bbq in the on site cafe to celebrate the jubilee, what a great atmosphere everyone was friendly good food and great value for money I also had some of the gins made by the owner which are for sale to take home in the well stocked shop.
The only slightly negative comments I have to make is the showers don't give a lot of privacy with 2 facing each other in both the gents and ladies toilet block and only a shower curtain in place no separate cubicle but saying this the blocks were clean bright and well presented,
Also the grass although cut to a nice short length had the clippings left which got everywhere in the caravan even though we took our shoes off in the awning.
All said a lovely site with level pitches, good facilities and a friendly relaxed atmosphere, there is also a shepherd's hut to rent if you want something a bit deferent, cooked food available and a bar with evening meals.
A fantastic site we will be back

Stayed here for 4 nights, it's a lovely peaceful site, very well kept, toilets free showers are spotlessly clean.
There's a cafe on site, some lovely walks with the dogs, will be going back
The only thing I could fault there wasn't enough dog poo bins but that's not a big issue

People show there true colours during testing times!
During 90mph gusts whilst we stayed with a collapsed flooded tent 3 kids aged 10/3/1, completely confused and stressed
Both colin and helen were rolling around the field helping me and my partner. They could of easily left me to sort it out myself but they went above and beyond to help, there was a few other off the cuff remarks that really showed this is a labour of love for them.
We enjoyed our first night so much that after our flood and disaster we returned home dried everything out and went back.
We will certainly be returning, and had no faults with the site or facilities the location and atmosphere was perfect for a stressfree relaxing break.

Lovely campsite, very friendly people and amazing food and cakes in the tea room. We just got back from 5 days on the farm and loved it. Its not too far from really nice beaches and plenty of things to do within a short drive.
The showers didn't look much but were actually really powerful and warm so cant complain (although they are building new ones anyway). We camped in the orchard which was very pretty and had plenty of space to play football and frisby etc with the kids.
The kids loved the pony and playing with the very affectionate dog called Sky and the lovely little girl who lives there.
Great place for a little family break.

This is a very delightful smaller site, quiet and spacious, and the owners are doing their very best to keep everyone safe and well.
A new toilet and shower block should be completed and open by early August.
This is a working farm with animals, gardens and fields to enjoy and probably the best Farm Shop and Cafe on the East Coast.
Five minute drive to the beach and easy parking when you get there, or you can walk it along paths in 20 minutes.
Dog and child friendly site,
Highly recommended by us.
