I spent a long weekend on this site. Good pitch, electric all ok. The food in the pub was great, I had one of the best mixed grills ever.
Beautiful drive through the Wye valley nearby, forest walks and Monmouth is a nice town. So far so good, but I do have some niggles.
On one of the the farms nearby, they use sonic 'gunshots' to scare the birds in the fields. Every 10 minutes 2 bangs starting around 5:30 am. My dog was petrified. This is of course outside the influence of the campsite, and my dog was the only one that was bothered. So he spent most of the time in the caravan with a reggae CD on repeat. Apparently their field had just been sown, and this doesn't happen all the time I was told.
The other thing is the complete lack of phone signal. This means I had to use the wifi in the pub, which was good, but the pub is not always open in the morning and afternoon. I enjoyed my stay, but felt for the dog.

David, Mandy & the team were Excellent, Only £25 / night with 10A EHU (although that is due to rise) Beer was good too.
If there were to be a complaint, It's just the enormous food Portions, which precluded us trying the Deserts.
Booked for 4 Nights But extended, there was so much to see locally.
We did a boat Trip on the Wye, Steam train ride, Lydney Harbour, Lttledean jail, Dean Visitors Centre.
Toilets were basic, but clean.
Grass regularly Mown, site quiet & well drained.
Pitches well spaced too. TV, 4G & Phone (EE) signals Good.
Pub Closes at 19:00 Sunday, Re-opens Weds.

My third visit to this site.
Lovely secluded site tucked behind the pub.
I would always stay here if staying in this area.
You are just a short drive from Chepstow and Tintern Abbey.

We had an enjoyable 2 nights at the Black Smith Arms. The camp site was friendly, clean, quiet, flat and perfect!
Basic amenities but very clean and did the job. Close to services as well. Prices were very good
The pub was a great addition, with good food, very reasonably priced beer, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.
We will defo come back soon and hopefully this time there will be sunshine too! (As a bonus!)

Very friendly people EHU and flatish spots wouldn't stay for a holiday but as a stopover its handy.
No views or anything. Like a pub carpark
The Pub serves food which is handy although a bit expensive after paying £20 to park for the night.

Entrance was a bit narrow, in fact missed it, but it was easier coming from the Lydney direction.
The site was very basic, one toilet and one shower per sex, however were reasonably clean.
That really was all there was on site, apart from the drinking water, toilet and flush obviously.
The pub however served the most scrumptious Sunday Lunch, worth going back just for that

Lovely peaceful site at the rear of a welcoming pub.
The facilities are kept spotlessly clean and the field is lovely and green.
This was my second visit and I would definitely return.

First time at this site as this is one of the few parts of the country that I hadn’t visited before. They are doing a good job of keeping it Covid-secure, toilets are kept very clean.
The site is tucked behind the pub and is lovely and quiet. You get a friendly welcome and the food in the pub is excellent.
I would definitely stay here again if I was coming to the region. I agree with the poster who wished that the water tap was in a separate area to the toilet disposal but I always boil any water when I’m away from home, so this is a minor consideration.
