A nice village pub with a campsite literally tucked behind. Friendly landlord, pub staff and locals with real ales in addition to the usual commercial beers.
Flat pitches in a rectangular field with tall trees to the west making some shelter if it`s windy. Very quite at night as it`s far enough away from the road.
Not the most comprehensive toilets / shower but the owners admit they are a work in progress and since we were the only 2 tents that weekend it wasn`t a problem. £10 per tent is very reasonable and we would definitely go back.
Only stayed the one night as it was a last minute decision so can`t really say much about the surrounding area but it is well situated for Lydney (Steam Railway), The Forest of Dean, Chepstow or Gloucester.

We stayed at this site at Easter, it was a last minute, decision being only 15 miles from home. If you want a base with a pub that children and dogs are welcome this is for you.
The food was great the drinks very reasonable and I don't think you could find a more friendlier place! The site is basic with toilets and a play area but the friendliness makes up for the lack of amenities the site is clean and tidy we enjoyed our stay and would have stayed longer but the weather turned so home we went. There's a mace store 60yrds away and lovely walks to take the dog on. We will visit this site again as its a great weekend bolt hole.

As a family we stayed here for just over a week.
Landlord was very helpful and as we were the only people there were told to park where we wanted.
The rates were very cheep which was just as well other wise we would not have stayed.
Although there are 4 hookup points these consist of one point with an adapter.
Still no showers, and the toilets are the ones in the pub.
To get to the toilets while the pub is closed there is a combination lock, but this was broken all the time we where there. Luckily the van has a toilet but we did feel sorry for the cyclists that turned up for one night in there tent.
There is a water point and a chemical toilet empting point.
Although This site was marked with a play area we are talking the standard pub plastic tree, which wasn't much to our children's liking.
Saying all that it is a great place to base your self for exploring the local area and we went to the forest of dean a number of times.
Not sure if we would go again.

I imagine Heaven is based upon the Blacksmiths Arms. Possibly the most friendly local I have visited. Basic and limited camp site facilities but more than compensated by a truly wonderful village inn with a fine range of real ales. The homemade meals are tasty with generous portions and are complimented by a varied inexpensive wine list. Word of caution if having the home made steak and kidney pie, be prepared not to move for several hours whilst this mouth watering and enormous helping digests itself. This is not for the calorie counters although there is a good range of vegetarian options. Superb steaks from local butchers! The many and diverse locals are extremely friendly and helpful. Site fees very reasonable and the site it ideally located for exploring the Forest of Dean. The Village shop just up the road and more comprehensive shopping is only 3 miles away in Lydney (including a Tesco supermarket).

Small Campsite with lots of potential. Only capacity for 3-4 hook ups so book early.
Landlord and pub staff are great and if you are looking for a quiet site with a warm and friendly pub attached this is recommended.
Be warned though at the moment there isn't a shower block and the pubs toilet facilities can be used with permission.
Stayed on a wet bank holiday and thus conditions weren't at their best so we will come back and see the lovely sites that we hope to return to and visit.

Stayed here for 3 nights over August bank holiday pub site well drained flat field to rear of Blacksmiths arms. The site has a childrens play area / water tap with hose / soil waste on field, sheltered from wind on 3 sides.Horse and sheep in next field. Dave the landlord showed us where to pitch we made use of hook up (only two so far) so advise you to book them,he also gives you code to access pub toilets out of hours. Site has no shower block but was told they are planned for the future. This will make a lovely little site perfect.Pub is very old sells good ales, and is well frequented for it wholesome varied meals.
On the whole a good (very cheap )site for exploring the Forest of Dean and Severn Estuary areas.
P.S. We visited Dewston Hidden Gardens what a find 20 min drive away and out of this world you must go you wont believe the place is not better known.
