We came across this site whilst driving up the coast. A large green site that faces the sea ( one field between site and the sea). Approx 60 pitches for tents and caravans / motorhomes.

Approx 12 hardstanding pitches but the grass pitches were firm. Ehu available on all hardstanding and on 8 of the grass pitches. Very friendly and helpful owner who made us very welcome on arrival.

Toilets / showers appeared a little old and past their best from the outside. A pleasant surprise inside as they were immaculate and as clean as anywhere we have stayed before. There are 2 shower / toilets down near the farm and a further 2 of each on the other side of the field – plenty of facilities for the size of the site.

From the site you can walk down to the beach in a matter of minutes. Lovely long stretch of sand which was clean. From the beach(and some of the pitches) you can watch the ferries leaving Oban as there is a clear view out to sea.

No shops / pubs nearby but there is a static park further up the lane which apparently does award wining take away fish & chips.

From the site we cycled to the island of Eriska – absolutely stunning hotel there which does spa treatments, meals golf etc – worth going there just to cycle over the bridge onto the island and to see the hotel which looks like a castle.

We paid £14 with ehu / 2 adults – a real gem of a site that we will recommend and use again ourselves. A very under developed site that still manages to give great facilities and top quality service.

We stayed at this site for 9 days in September, after staying for 7 days in June 2010, great wee site no hassle, and Duncan the owner is great, you could chat away all day to him nothing is a bother.

The shower and toilets are of a good standard for a small site.

10 minute stroll into town where you can get everything you would need.

Great base for touring all the west coast.

Brilliant to waken up in the morning open the awning and view the ferry going to skye. Or just have a stroll down to benderloch bay.

This was a perfect little family run site, idyllic location, 5 mins walk to a safe sandy beach, the views across the bay were stunning.

The showers & toilets were lovely and clean at all times, we were well looked after by Duncan (the owner). We planned to stay 2 nights, but loved the location so much, we stayed for 4 nights

We will definitely be back in the future. Looking forward to it.

This was the second time we had used this site - we came back for a week after being so impressed with our first stay of two nights.

As so many other people have said, Duncan the site owner is very friendly and helpful. He makes you feel most welcome and always has time to talk.

On our second visit my brother came to camp for the weekend with his two wee boys and Duncan suggested that he just pitch his tent right next to our 'van. This was really appreciated and made the weekend so much more enjoyable.

We found the facilities to be more than adequate and the toilets and showers were always spotless.

The local cafe and shops are both well stocked and the staff in all three are very pleasant and helpful.

As dog owners we were really pleased to find that we could walk out of the gate and immediately let the dog off the lead all the way to the beach as there is no traffic allowed down the track.

This is one of our favourite sites and would highly recommend it.

We stayed at this site for 4 nights from Aug 30th, having enjoyed the Runrig Homecoming gig at Scone Palace on Saturday 29th.

Some of the descriptions of this site lead us to believe that it would be suitable for our requirements: no children, quiet, small, clean etc. And so it was.

Nothing is perfect, though, so let's get the downside out of the way immediately: one night was completely spoiled by a noisy group of youths who arrived late and made a lot of noise until three in the morning.

That's it! All else is upside: friendly owners allowed us to pitch a little higher up the site than usual for tents as few caravans were about. The facilities were ample (we're camping so don't expect hotel qualities) and always immaculately clean.

The view is simply stunning! Looking south to the the Island of Kerrera and towards the Atlantic, we would have stared at the view forever had not the rain been incessant. It was cold and windy, too. Not to be outdone, we had several trips out including to Seil Island, Glen Lonan, Glencoe and to Oban where fresh langoustine and scallops were bought for a definitely non-camping style meal.

The owners were most helpful and very pleasant, in particular the owner's son: if you read this, Duncan, good luck with your business venture.

A great site; just a pity there's no switch in the shower block to turn off that Scottish rain!

All being well, we shall return.

Very highly recommended.

We found this site while out driving and stayed for 2 nights. The owner Violet was very welcoming and friendly, she only charged us £6 per night including use of the showers. We had views out over the sea although didn't manage to get to the beach because of the weather. The toilet block and shower are kept immaculate with lots of hot water. The site is a big field and well looked after and we shall definitely be returning next year.

An excellent 'old world' site not spoiled by overdevelopment. Good pitches for tents, and fantastic views across bay to mountains beyond. Beach nearby is excellent, but slightly undermined by mad people in a powerboat and a couple of jet skis.

Noted that site now 'adult only' before setting off, but spoke to owner's son who was very happy for us to come with our 2 boys. Indeed, there were a lot of children on the site, but all well-behaved, so there is clearly some flexibility.

The site is probably has too few toilets (5 in total, with 2 showers) but even though the weekend was very busy when we stayed, there was no problem (most caravanners seemed to use own facilities). Everything was clean.

Definitely will return (subject to children issue).

Perhaps the best little site I have visited in a long time. The reception on arrival was first class and I was able to pick my pitch and have my caravan facing any direction. The view out to the sea was something else, a very short walk to the beach revealed clean sands and shallow clear water safe for swimming. The site was spotless and was run in a relaxing manner which helped to create a very good atmosphere all round. Tenters were well catered for.

Three minute walk to Trallee Holiday Village you can get the best fish and chips any where around for a fiver.

I will certainly recommend this site to anyone. However no children are allowed which suited us. Cost per night was £14 which included ehu and awning. Highly recommend this site.

This was a last minute booking and we just managed to get the holiday week off and everywhere was full. We were surprised how much space there was on this lovely site, with its lovely sea view all the way across to Oban and lovely quiet beach and bay possibly one of the nicest locations we have visited

This lovely site is dog friendly and a little hidden gem. We did not use the facilities as we have our own however the looked clean and well kept. I'm reluctant to add this review as we loved the quiet location and (in the know) visitors but thought it would be mean to keep this from visitors to the Highlands. I would certainly recommend and we will definitely return

Phoned to enquire about prices and spoke to Mrs McKellor (Violet), the owner, who told me it was £12 plus £1 for each child (we have 2). This seemed okay, a bit more than expected.

Set off, the weather forecast was good. Found it quite easily: turn left just before the school, along a single lane road, with passing places, and it's on the left. We spotted a large sign saying 'no children'. This was a surprise!

I went to 'reception', the farm house, to 'check-in' and enquire about the sign. Mrs McKellor had a bad experience with children last year; she said they'd caused much damage resulting in her having to pay a lot to repair the plumbing! However, we did stay and there were four other families out of about 8 other units!

There are 2 bathrooms in the main structure. Each with loo, shower and sink. There are also 3 loos at the top of the field, in porta-cabins, and another shower with cold water only! There is a washing up area and an additional outside water-tap and lots of bins. The facilities are kept clean and well maintained. Loo roll and soap was provided.

The field is on a slight slope and surrounded by a fence. There was plenty of room for our boys to play footie, (but obviously no kids' facilities). We pitched at the lower fence facing south and overlooking the sea - bliss!

It's a very short walk to the beach. It's a lovely bay. The area is very scenic and there is a short walk to town, either along the beach or the single lane road. In town / village there is a well-stocked mini-market and a camping store. There is a lovely cafe with outdoor seating and it's licensed. There is a farmers' market within walking distance, it's on the 3rd Thursday of the month. We bought 'real' beef burgers for the BBQ!
You can take a bus to Oban, only 5 minutes over the Connel Bridge. Along the beach is Tralee Holiday Park with wooden chalet accommodation, mini-golf, a flying-fox and fish and chip shop. There are forest walks on the hill and lots of lanes to wander along or cycle. We were only there 3 nights so didn't explore extensively! It is a pretty, well-kept and clean area. We did have great weather.
