This campsite is in a beautiful location, half way up a steep cliff hill, with sea gulls soaring high above giving the place an eerie feeling. We pitched our tent on a soft grass lawn with our car right next to it.
The facilities were a bit run down but clean. There are shower blocks and laundry facilities. The men's toilet is up a steep stair case which would make it difficult for people with limited mobility. The owners of this campsite could quite easily convert the ladies' toilet block in two parts and solve the problem.
There is a licensed restaurant on site, but no shop, which serves basic foods, cooked breakfast, jacket potatoes etc. The Football match between England and Ukraine was shown to customers on a big television screen although the TV is not available at other times.
The view from the restaurant is breathtaking, over the sea, and there are tables and chairs on a grass patio for customer use.
But the best part of this campsite is that it has a steep path entrance, both up and down, to a nature reserve which is so lush and thick with tree canopies and a huge variety of vegetation that you would be mistaken to think that you were in a rainforest or the Eden Project or Kew Gardens. The best kept secret of the White Cliffs area.

Loved this site - so friendly, lovely site owner and wardens, very clean lovely views and sheltered from the wind, awful weather but enjoyed it anyway, took our new little grandson and family to the cafe when they came to visit, really good value and enjoyable, the boys has a game of pool and we enjoyed the views.
Would stay here anytime and if the weather is bad there is so much to go out and visit, Canterbury etc and lots of other historic places and beaches.
Might be nice if the cafe opened a bit longer in the evening, but maybe it does in the peak of Summer. Would be good if there were a few more pubs within easy walking distance, My husband is a traditional pub real Ale man and it is a shame so many pubs have closed, or turned into a cheap imitation of what was a typical British pub, however this is not the fault of Folkestone - this is a trend that has spread across the UK.
My husband would have liked a mirror in the mens loos. If you want beautiful views and a quiet location this is the site for you.

We stayed for 2 nights in a tent. Pitches were clean & tidy with short grass and sheltered by bushes away from any wind.
Very quiet site, no kids running around & no play park for them. No noise from cars as the site is away from main roads. Toilets & shower blocks were old & up the hill a bit.
Mens toilets are up a set of steep steps but they were clean & tidy ok for weekend use.
The cafe on site selling breakfast & drinks was also well presented with great views over the channel towards France. Near by Folkstone has many pubs cafe's & shops to look at and has improved over the past year or so.
I will go back again to this delightful scenic site.

Found this site very pleasant, ideal for stop over for France, basic amenities were clean but males toilets very steep steps to access (about 20) so not good for disabled, which I am. Site was very clean and owner very pleasant. View from the cafe (which was closed) was ab fab. Accessibility to the site was very good except for the start of wear bay road, which can be a bit awkward with a large unit behind you which we had. Weather was brilliant for our 3 day stay, saw lots of wild life, rabbits foxes & cats. Backdrop is about 100 foot cliffs, which didn't deter from TV signal. All in all a very picturesque place

When we checked in we were given our pitch number and that was it. We were not given any information about the site layout, public transport, places of interest etc. It was more or less park your van and help yourself.
Payment was by cash or cheque only. The cafe/bar closes at 5pm and doesn't open Monday's. It didn't look particularly exciting. However, the view from the cafe is nice overlooking the white cliffs. None of the caravan pitches have a view as it is blocked by trees.
We had no phone, TV and only limited internet access. We did walk into Folkestone along the seafront which was quite nice but a good 30 minute walk. Folkestone itself is and old, dirty, rundown port town.
It has certainly seen better days. There are no pubs or shops within close walking distance from the site.
The shower and toilet block looked very dirty and old. I used the caravan shower. At £17 per night I think it was very expensive for what we got. We would not come here again.

We stayed here for one night in October. The reception & checking in was friendly & straight forward. Views across the channel from the cafe/bar garden are beautiful. Unfortunately the cafe & bar was closed (out of season) which is not mentioned on their website. The walk to get to the beach is through and along a hilly and somewhat 'dog mess' infested walk. You are better off going by road. The toilets and showers are very old, dirty and open to all the elements and wildlife. Beware, the entrance to the toilet/shower block is up a VERY steep set of stairs, if you are a little weak on the pins use your own in the van. We spent a great evening in the town of Folkestone, but would only use this site as a one night stopover to park the vehicle.

We stayed for one night only at this site, a quick stop over before boarding the ferry to France the next morning. The site is only a 10 minute drive to the port which is great!
The site is very small but in a beautiful location with fantastic views of the white cliffs and on a clear day you can see France across the channel.
The toilets/showers are old, basic and in need of updating but seemed clean.
There is a cafe/reception at the top of the hill which unfortunately for us after a long drive to the site, the cafe closed at tea time, which we thought was strange and inconvenient as there were no shops nearby.
Overall, the site was friendly and we would use it again if we were travelling over to France.

Lovely site with amazing views, wardens friendly and very informative, toilets and showers old but clean. Lovely cafe and bar overlooking channel, spent most evenings sitting outside bar looking over to France.
Zig-zag path from site to top of cliffs which had more amazing views, easy walking to beach but would be difficult with pushchairs. Our car broke down and was in garage for two days but we found we were able to do plenty on foot. Only downside was small pitches

What a lovely location, stunning views of channel and France. Cafe area best part of site, tents a little too close in some areas. Walks to be taken with caution, very steeply wooded area immediately around site. So if you have young children who like to explore then its not ideal, no play area for them. Facilities not great, ancient water heater in wash up area that didn't work, even after 2 requests ( no apology from site manager either). Loos old but clean, showers just about ok (10p needed for warm water). Owners could do with going to charm school, felt as if each request / query was a bit of a nuisance but am new to camping, so maybe unfair? and expect too much. Site lovely and quiet most of the time and other visitors very friendly, lots of dutch and germans on their way to and fro. Local area bit run down but we didn't visit all of Folkestone. All in all I'd recommend it for short stay or if you are channel hopping, if only to sit by the cafe and enjoy that view with a chilled glass from the bar.

We stayed on the site for just one night, in prep for a sharp getaway to a ferry for France the next day.
Lady on reception was great on the phone and very helpful when we arrived.
Has a great position overlooking the channel. Pitches are clearly marked out but are open plan.
There's a nice long walk to the sea, through a lovely woodland.
Bar is set overlooking the coast and was very welcoming after the long walk!
Would really recommend for overnight or longer stay.
Didn't use the loos or showers but they looked fine.
