We have used this site on a number of occasions as a night halt before joining the ferry at Dover. The site is close to the M20 and is accessed by a narrow private road from a residential area.
The site has an outstanding location partway down the cliffs above a local nature reserve known as the Warren. The rear of the site is sheltered by high chalk cliffs whilst to the front of the site there are outstanding views out over the English Channel towards France.
The site is long and narrow and stretches along a level ridge in the cliffs. The entrance road passes a row of static caravans which have open views over the Channel. There is then the main touring pitch area, a row of pitches on grass on either side of the tarred site road. These pitches have EHUs and are sheltered on the seaward site by an area of woodland - this means that there are no sea views from these pitches.
There is, also, an area of tent pitches in the woodland. At the far end of the avenue of pitches there is the site bar and cafe serving home cooked food. This cafe, also, serves as the site's Reception. In front of the cafe there is a sunny grass terrace with garden furniture which has wonderful views over the channel.
The owners are friendly and welcoming. The site toilets are set against the cliffs behind the cafe and reached by steep steps. They are said to be rather dated and need of updating and they are, also, quite a walk from the main pitch areas. We have never used the site toilets preferring to use our own facilities. All of the site buildings date from its days as a World War 2 army post.
The site is popular with English and Continental campers passing through the port of Dover. This means that the site is busy with a high turnover of campers coming and going. A big advantage of the site is that it has no gate or barrier and so it is possible to leave for early ferries without hindrance.
In 2009 we 3 spent pleasant nights at the site. On the first day we took the opportunity to visit Dover Castle. The castle site on the famous White Cliffs is and interesting and varied one.
As well as visiting the castle and the Roman lighthouse we, also, took the opportunity to take the tour of 'Secret Tunnels' used by armed forces by World War 2 and now home to a museum and illustrative displays.
The following day we looked around the Dover town centre and then visited a Sainsbury's Supermarket near to the campsite for some last minute holiday shopping and to fill up the car with diesel.
In the evening we bought some fish and chips from a local shop in Folkestone and after returning to Little Switzerland ate them sitting on the grass near the statics from where we could look out over the Channel.
It is an easy journey taking approximately half and hour to the Norfolk Line Ferry Terminal.

We just returned from here today, a lovely setting high up in the cliffs gorgeous views and site layout not too bad. Staff are very friendly & the people staying there. I didn't use the restaurant but looks lovely overlooking the English channel! There's a very long walk from the site through dense woodland lovely and lots of wildlife. The toilets are clean and there's facilities for washing up laundry & 2 showers the only downside was the sinks are not constant running the taps need constant pushing in, also you need to pay for the use of a hot shower but overall I would recommend it enjoyed our stay would return again

Had a lovely weekend and hopefully will be the first of many. The site is beautiful, with stunning views over the sea to France (yes we saw it every day)and a very nice cafe, with a full bar and good home-cooked food. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The only down side as campers were the distance of the toilets, which were quite a walk away and there are only 2 showers for men and women each, so had a short wait one day. But, overall, the site is good value and would highly recommend a stay. Close to all local amenities, a short drive to the beach and amazing cliff top and beach walks. Good stay for all ages.

A pleasant site, good value, great location with stunning views across the channel to France. The site is in 'The Warren' which is a nature reserve, in the cliffs on the east side of Folkestone. There are great walks from the site, through the warren down to the sea (pretty steep though!).
The site owners were very friendly and helpful. There is a nice cafe and bar which has a large terrace where you can look across to France. No shop, but the owner did offer to get a paper for us in the morning!
The facilities are pretty old fashioned, they look like they've been the same for at least 30 years, but they were spotlessly clean and never too crowded.
We pitched with electric hook up, so we were next the road and some cars (visiting the cafe) went too fast - my only complaint is that they should do more to enforce the 5mph rule. Next time we'll ask for one of the camping pitches which are in secluded little dells away from the road.
The kids loved it, they made a den in cliffs and the sandy beach was a few minutes in the car.

Campsite setting very good. Nice views and nice area. The staff were very unwelcoming and unfriendly. The mens and ladies toilet and showers were very old and dirty. Had to pay for hot water! which didn't work in ladies so had to have a cold shower. Informed staff who shrugged shoulders and didn't want to know. Only one lot of facilities at far end of camp. A long way in the dark to pee at night! would not use camp again.

We started coming to Little Switzerland more than a decade ago and returned again every year since. There have been years, when our original plans were to go further north but were changed once we reached the campsite. Toilets and showers clean. Personnel very friendly. Licensed Cafe only can be highly recommended for evening drinks and breakfast. Ideal place for families with small children.

A site with wonderful views over the cliffs and Channel. The cafe served excellent food and sitting outside on the grass terrace was a pleasure. Although the pitches are a little close together, they are sheltered and mainly flat. My only complaint lies with the facilities. Very basic and limited. The climb up from the pitch to the cafe and showers wasn't too bad, but men then face another 36 steep steps up to the gents toilet! By the time one reaches the loo you need an oxygen cylinder and time to remove your crampons and grappling irons. Sherpa Tensing sat in the cubicle next to mine. The owners would do well to update the facilities and resite the gents toilets on a more accessible level.

Nice little campsite, views from the cafe were lovely. Be warned lots of people go there just to use the cafe,so lots of cars go past the camping area all day,so its not very private. Nice walks down to the Warren. Toilets and showers are very basic, and the people who ran the site were very friendly.

We found the site very clean and tidy and quiet. The owners of this site are very nice and friendly people. The toilets / shower blocks are old but very clean. We took our dog with us and again no mess anywhere. The Views from this site are fantastic and on a clear day you can see France. This is not a action site, this is more just chilling, which was perfect for my hubby and me. The site hold 14 touring caravans. There is static caravans on site and also a area or camping. We are looking forward to going back soon.

The site is very pretty and the bar and restaurant has the loveliest view. We liked the split levels of the campsite and that a lot of the pitches are very private. The trees provide lots of shelter from the wind and sun.
What we didn't like was the lack of service or friendliness of management. No effort from the management at all. The ablutions are basic which is fine, but the ladies were without soap and loo paper for over 2 days which management made no effort to rectify and the mens' ablutions really smelt.
If you are only staying for one night, the site is adequate but I wouldn't recommend a long term stay.
