July 2004 Really lovely campsite. Friendly owners, sparkling new washrooms with hot showers, hand dryers, hair dryers, baby room, well-stocked shop, pot wash, laundry etc. Sloping ground for tents but could put up with that due to the gorgeous location. Woods at the top of the campsite - from where you can directly join some lovely walks through Horner Wood etc up onto Granny's Ride, with great views. Porlock only half a mile, we had our bikes so we just cycled into the village (but mind the hill coming back!) Horse and pony riding for those that want it - we didn't, but the sight of the horses in the field as the sun is setting was one I shall not forget! And only £8 a night!! Definitely one of my favourites, nice and quiet even though quite full at the weekend.

July 2004 This site was fantastic!! It is one on a very few campsites that I would go back to again. The toilets are spotless, the showers free and tempeture adjustable. The owners are very friendly, and the horse riding stables were a welcome distraction. The site is level/ sloping with the tourers on the level ground, causing some comment from the tent dwellers! A small shallow stream borders the campsite, the kids loved it.
The car broke down and the wife was rushed into Taunton hospital for a night, but this did nothing to distract from the fact that this is a cracking little site and we thoughly enjoyed our stay.
We shall return.

July 2004 Spent 9 nights here - fantastic site, the new shower block is great. Shop good, staff helpful, and kids loved the pony rides. Site was full, but never felt overcrowded.
Tent pitches are a little on the slope, so take some wooden blocks to level out your table etc!
Will be returning for sure.

June 2004 Stunning site with a new facility block of the highest standard. The toilets, showers and pot room are really spotless. There's a useful shop on site and pony treking available should you fancy it. Porlock is just a few minutes drive or fifteen minutes walk away with plenty of shops. The only negative point is that the site slopes a fair bit so pick your pitch carefully or like us you will be in for a long steep walk to fetch water or use the facilities. Overall though the rest of the site and area more than made up for this one minus point.

June 2004 Initation of fire: camping with a baby and 4yr old, made all the easier by staying here.
It was a perfect campsite, in the woods with walks and rides on the horses available. Showers and washing up facilities were top notch, clean, tidy and take into account family shower rooms etc.
Near the shops, but far enough away.
Loved it. want to go back. Yes, it slopes slightly (so find a good pitch!).
The only thing that would make this an even better, was if they offered a cloth (real) nappy laundry service. then I would have a holiday from washing too!! : )
Congrats to the owners who worked so hard to make the site a good one!

Aug 2002 Fantastic site, most enjoyable holiday for ages. Very clean and well maintained site. Kids loved the facilities especially the horse riding. Plenty of walking and cycle routes through the woods and nearby villages. We are planning to go back again this year. Also worth having a trip to Dunster while your there, it's a beautiful place!!!!

This is such a beautiful part of the world and this campsite does not disappoint. This was a destination of my childhood holidays at least 20 + years ago and visited with a friend about 10 years ago. Picturesque. Friendly. Good shop and the superb riding facilties. The most memorable cream teas within 5 mins and Minehead beach not too far away.
I can't wait to take my own family and hope to revisit this summer.
I am aware of families booking the static caravans for the whole summer and rebooking for next year before they leave. Mum and kids stay all summer and Dad comes at the weekend. Now thats living!
