June 2005 Visited this site this weekend with 12 friends, two children and a dog - really loved the site - beautiful lake and you really can't beat a real fire. Toilet facilities adequate. Fishing looked OK. Comments about rave music true but not too loud at night time. We will defintitely return.

April 2005 Visited this weekend - bank holiday - with two vans, three tents. It was packed. Nice site, with good scenery, walks, fishing, camp fires, but serious work needed to provide loos/showers/water to the camping field. The main field is for residential vans only, and this is where the one shower & two loos per m/f, plus the fresh water & waste disposal, is situated. It was a long walk for our two slightly diasabled friends. One portaloo only in the tent field, not emptied all weekend. May go back, but not at bank holiday, and only if more loos etc installed.

July 2004 Idyllic - if you want peace and tranquility. We normally have loads of kids with us when we camp but as we only had one we decided to try out St Ives. We chose it because it has fishing and best of all allows camp fires.
I'm not sure you could stay too long if you had loads of children but with 2 or 3 its a brilliant place.
Showers and loos ckept very clean - we were surprised to find showers!
Definitely going back again this year

2 August 2003 Well after going up and down the same country road three times we eventually found the campsite and, as we got there at 7pm, it was packed!!
A nice setting although only one portaloo which was very old and dirty! Campfires are welcome which made for a lovely evening and there is a very laid back atmosphere even though we ended up pitched next to someone who played techno and rave music all night !
Good fishing lake if that's your thing and a nice tea garden just next door with some lovely dogs who look as though they have eaten too many cream teas themselves!
