Loved the relaxed atmosphere of this place. We chose our own pitch area & it was stunning.
Overlooking the field of crops with a wide sky view of the supermoon in the evening & beautiful sun rise in the morning.
It’s a basic campsite with a small block of 2 female & 2 male toilets with a shower in each.
There are a few portaloos scattered around the site which is a great idea but were rather dirty & I didn’t want to use these.
A double sink area with hot water to wash dishes.

I’ve stayed here a number times and it’s always great. David is a super host - helpful, and happy to chat.
It’s a back to basics site, with a good variation of woodland, field and lake-side pitches.
You go where you like, and essentially campfires are allowed (in existing ´burn’ locations which are plentiful) David offers nets of fairly-priced logs to your ‘door’.
You can fish too, if that’s your bag. The site’s a lovely mile (maybe?) walk through fields to Hartfield, with its pub and farm shop. If you’re looking for a few days away, in natural surroundings with simple facilities (small shower block, porta-loos and wash-up space - with plenty of hot water)
I highly recommend this place.
It’s suitable for families, solo travellers and groups. Other campers are friendly and it certainly feels safe and welcoming.
I’ll be going again next year, as I have done for the last 7 or 8. Maybe see you there.
One point, if you want to book, just call. It’s the easiest way to confirm your dates.

We travel as a family and by bike.
Large, very quiet pitches.
There is only 1 shower (a bit of a wait)
Possibility of making a fire. There are picnic tables including one under a shelter.
Remember to take cash for payment.

We couldn't fault this site!
As a young couple coming with my 14y/o brother we wanted to find a place we could relax, cook over a fire, play frisbee, listen to music (respectfully) in the evening.
Meeting David we realised we were in the right place! The informal atmosphere on site creates a mutual respect between him & campers. We are able to camp freely and happily and in turn the site is looked after by everyone.
Hot water for washing up and showering. Perry Hill Orchards (5mins drive away) amazing for local apple/pear juice and cider/perry. Nick the Butcher (5mins drive away) fantastic for BBQ meats! Would recommend the pork belly burnt ends.
We came midweek which was beautifully quiet, but sounds like it would also be a good laugh when busier at weekends.
There are many good looking spots to camp on site and we are looking forward to coming back. Thanks David for your hospitality!

A midweek stay and it was lovely and peaceful. Being able to have a bonfire is a big bonus.
Clean toilets and shower and a clean area to wash the dishes.
I will definitely be coming back and will have to bring my fishing rod.
The lake looked very active with carp.
Overall a well managed site.

Very nice basic campsite for a good back to nature experience and lots of fire pits for free use.
It was hard to get hold of the person running the site, so do contact them early. I had to turn up and hope for the best having not heard back in the 3 days since enquiring.
There was no space reserved for me but I found a place easily.

The site has plenty of room to pitch and has a relaxed informal feel.
Facilities are basic but adequate and were kept clean.
We would definitely consider another stay here if we wanted to camp in the area in the future.
I answered n/a to child friendliness as we didn't have any children with us
