August 2004 Very nice site, the showers and toilets were lovely, the ground was a bit muddy when we got there and there was a lot of red clay underfoot and it doesn't easily wash out of clothes or shoes. There was entertainment on most nights at the club, there is a freezer for your ice packs and a nice laundry. The only downside we thought was that there isn't a bus route very close by if like us you want to leave the car and go out for a few beers your taxi will cost you 25qiud return to torquay. You are asked not to put up windbreakers unless you are sitting out which is a bit of a pain banging them in every day and you have to lift your groundsheet every day, if you are camped in a tent for longer than a week then you are asked to move it to let the grass breath. We were in the adult only section which was good for us, but there is a family area with a playground for the kids. We wont be going back here because it's a good walk to find amenities if you dont want to drive a lot on holiday.

August 2004 I agree mostly with the other reviewers especially about the very clean shower and toilet blocks and the very small pitches.
My parents stayed in one of the three static caravans on site which was immaculate with a lovely decked area and private garden.
The site was well located on the Torquay/Paignton ring road which you could hear during the night but not loud enough to disturb you. Perhaps our faces didn't fit but it wasn't the friendlist of sites, perhaps efficient is more the word.

May 2004 A very well organised and exceptionally clean site. It was mostly very quiet, except when the karoake was up and running! All the neccesary facilities were available, which included a good size shower block and cleaning facility.
Nice and friendly staff, campsite nicely placed for visiting South Devon and North Cornwall.

May 2004 Would agree with other reviews about the lovely shower block. The terraced site is very pleasant to look at and nicely planted. Must point out though that there is only one field for families, the others are for adults only so it is probably hard to get a pitch there in high season. Would be great for couples without children though. The adventure playground was well kitted out.
We felt that the pitches were fairly small... once you have your awning up, there is only about 3ft of grass between you and the next pitch and also there was not a lot of space down the middle of the rows so that it would be quite tricky to position a large caravan. Also, as the site is close to the main road, one is aware of the traffic noise.

Summer 2003 What a little treasure this site turned out to be. Its situated on the Ring road between Paignton and Devon so is easy to find.
The site is very friendly and immaculate. The best shower blocks we've ever experienced. They seem to be constantly cleaned all day! The area outside the reception and club is swept daily and there's lovely hanging baskets and tubs of flowers on display.
The club has various entertainment, comediens, karaoke, etc and it has a great atmosphere. The owners of the site are also very friendly and create the lovely warm atmosphere in the club. There appears to be many people who go there time and time again on a regular basis, us included. We have made many friends over the past few months and hope to make many more.
If you want a nice, friendly, laid-back site, with some entertainment in the evening and a well-priced bar then this is definately the place to go.

1998-2001 This site was so good, we ended up going there 7 times. About 5-10 minutes drive to Torquay or Paignton. Immaculate toilet and shower facilities, and pleanty of them too. Club house has a few diferent types of entertainment most nights. The site is always well kept too. When we go to Torquay again, we will definitely be going back to this site.

August Bank Holiday 2002 Widdicombe Farm is a well run campsite, set just outside Torquay. Just off main road, so is ideally situated for touring this part of Devon. (Didn't notice traffic noise even at height of the season). The site has areas for adults only and then areas for families. We were allocated a terraced pitch in a pleasantly wooden fenced terrace that took about 10 tents.(All pitches are clearly marked and a tincy bit cramped but then we prefer open field pitches) Club house, small shop, takeaway/cafe, reception, main shower block, childrens play area are all centrally situated. Best thing about this site is without doubt the shower block, it is immaculately clean. All in all a great site and unlike others the standard didn't slip on the Bank Holiday.
