Fantastic friendly run Site! - just back from short visit, was impressed with facilities, Kettle, Microwave, fridges and freezer, hot and cold running water, disabled toilet, washrooms, showers, toilets and portaloos, even electric hook up points - all for £7 per adult per night (at time of visit)& £2 for leccy, you can't go wrong here! The site is clean and well maintained with excellent sea views. The staff/Owners are really friendly and helpful, it's been a pleasure to visit. I will be returning to this site for years to come!

Came back to a camp site we have visited several times but not for a few years - so glad to find it had hardly changed other than an upgrade to the toilet facilities and the new washing up block with fridge, freezers, kettle, microwave, plug sockets the lot - we love this site and it looks like we always will - last time we came our eight year old was four weeks old - we promised he would like it - we were wrong - he loved it - don't go if you can't handle walking up steep hills though - that's just robin hoods bay! it was our dogs first camping trip and obviously she had to be on a lead whilst on site but there's a field right below where she could run around and the beach is dog friendly too - only complaint - it rained one day!

A great site with stunning views over Robin Hoods Bay. Site was busy for a Sunday but it was the school holidays. The field was on a slope but the kind owner has big levelling chocks! Facilities are top notch for a farm site and the village can be accessed through the gate at the bottom of the camping field then left on the road at the bottom of the path. Whitby can be easily cycled via railway path from the village. Recommend the pubs at the bottom of 'the slope' into Robin Hoods bay as well as the chippy and ice cream. A proper site for a proper seaside holiday. Plus there is an extra field for long stays.

We have just come back from a fabulous weekend of camping at Hooks House Farm.
We were first timers, complete newbys at camping and we loved it!
The site is run by friendly and helpful staff who were on hand to help with anything.
The view from the campsite is just stunning, it looks out over the bay which is just beautiful.
We arrived on a windy day, which we were told by other campers was normal for the area. Putting up the tent was hard work in the wind but two other campers nearby our pitch came to lend a hand. We were incredibly grateful!
The two people camping next to us had been camping at the site for 18 years and still go almost every week during the summer months. I thought that said a lot about the site and how fabulous it is.
The site has large converted porta cabins that have very clean toilets and showers in. The showers were great, hot water at all times. There are only two showers for the men and the same for the women but I didn't see any queues more than 1 or 2 people long.
There is also a new washroom which is in a brick building near the loos. It is lovely! There are also power points in the toilet block if like me you like to take a hairdryer!
There are also washing up facilities, fridges and freezers to use free of charge. We had everything we needed.
The village is only a very short walk away, the area is hilly so walking back to the site is all up hill, but we didn't find this a problem.
Robin hoods bay is just beautiful, lovely local pubs and shops and the best fish and chips I have ever tasted at the bottom of the village near the beach.
I really can't wait to go back!
It was perfect for us first timers!

A good friendly welcome from the owners nothing was too much trouble.First time on a caravan site where the owner set up our unit which they did for everyone even this was done with a smile.Showers and toilets were kept spotless and the site very well looked after.Fantastic views over robin hoods bay and surrounding countryside.Thoroughly enjoyed our stay would use again.Good food and drink served locally all within walking distance also a good bus service with stops straight outside the campsite.Prices very reasonable for this time of year including electric hook ups if required.

My wife and I visited this site last year intending to stay for a few nights, as her first camping experience. The weather was awful and my old tent that hadn't been used for a long time couldn't take it and leaked. However we had liked this site so much we vowed to return. Which we did this summer armed with a better equipment and thankfully the weather was really on our side.
The site promises amazing views and this is what your get, the field slopes downhill towards the bay with pitches for tourers some having electric hookup around the top and edges and tents in the middle down to the front. I cant imagine that any of they pitches have a different view from mine which was a perfect view across the bay and out to sea, rolling hills and dramatic cliffs included.
The facilities at the site are great the toilets and showers are spotless all day, I did see queues for the showers but never had to myself as I tend to be up early or went in the afternoon. There's also a block of individual washrooms to use. There's sockets for hairdryers etc.
There's a block where you can wash pots with three sinks which also has a couple of freezers and a fridge, kettle for a brew and microwave.
On the area, there's a short walk down to the bay which has a number of shops selling bits and bobs of fossils, jet and the usual seaside stuff, a few pubs with good beer and what looked like nice food, there's a chippy which is does great fish and chips. The beach is lovely with lots of rock pools and a good long walk up and down. Great for kids.
Whitby is a short car ride away or a few hours walk down the Cleveland way which is a lovely scenic trip and the north yorks moors are nearby as well. There's also access to one of the national cycle trails which I believe heads toward Scarborough.
All in all I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this site, the views are excellent, the facilities are great and the area is lovely. We will definitely be back I should think.

This site has both positives and negatives, on the positive the view is one of the best I have ever seen, and the staff were fantastic, to have your caravan towed into position and levelled up was amazing. There is a field for the kids to play in and a lovely walk for the dog. On the down side, it is next to the road, which although it is not too busy, early morning traffic can be heard whilst trying to sleep, as can the sheep in the next field, which some would say is part of the charm. The facilities, although they were very clean, they were sparse and in need of modernisation, two toilets and two showers for the men and likewise for the women, is just not enough, considering there was around 200 people on site, and as a result, there was queuing and at times toilet paper and hand towels and soap run short,, despite a gallant effort by staff to keep up with things. Overall a lovely spot and with some modernisation would make one of the best.

Visited at a busy time of year but never felt crowded out. When we arrived our caravan was quietly and competently taken over by George(?) and his son who positioned, levelled and secured it on a sloping pitch, never has our van felt so steady, no bounces at all!
The views from the site over Robin Hoods Bay are spectacular, even at night we had to stop and gape at the beauty of the moon shining on the water, and there is a good footpath down to the village and beach area.
The family who own Hooks House are lovely, Can't speak highly enough of their friendliness and helpfulness, they keep the facilities in very good order and they are regularly inspected by Gill to ensure supplies (loo paper etc) don't run out. If I have any criticism at all, and it really didn't affect our hols to any great effect, it would be that 1 more shower for each sex would be appreciated.
It was great to watch youngsters of all ages- who had probably only got to know each other on site- playing cricket on the adjoining field in the evenings, however,at no time was there ever any rowdiness or noise after 'lights out'time on site.
My husband and I have had our faith in family activities and unity renewed since staying at Hooks House and can't wait till we have grandchildren old enough to come with us and join in.
Will we go back?.Can't wait.

Just returned to camping after 25 years and we could not have chosen a better site.
The site appears to be run entirely by family members and they are all great people with Gill and Paul running front of house in a very friendly professional manner.
Gently sloping site well laid out with great views of Robin Hoods bay from all pitches
Very close to The Cleveland Way so good walks.
Facilities ltd in number but not in quality very very clean.
Robinn Hoods Bay was quaint and beautiful with a very lively music scene.
We will be going again this year.

Excellent site I would fully recommend to anyone, owner very helpful and friendly. Only drawback is site is sloping so pitch with care.Toilet block was always spotless as were the showers.A new addition this year is the private washrooms great if long queues for showers.Views are fantastic. Although previous reviews state some noise I didn't find it so, very quiet Will go again. Would give more than 10/10 but that's the limit.
