We really enjoyed our stay on this small farm site,

Fresh water and wc disposal only

Nice tidy site very little noise for a working farm

Very handy for Winsock and the coast

We will be back soon

The site was just what we needed to test drive and use our new van for our first ever outing.

As novices we discovered very quickly how helpful fellow campers can be when they saw us struggling with our awning.

The site has beautiful views of the surrounding countryside with farm animals grazing all around.

It is perfectly situated for both coast and inland exploring and our host was very pleasant and welcoming.

Would definitely use again

Me and my boyfriend have just returned from this lovely peaceful campsite and we cannot recommend it enough! So beautiful, quiet and the most incredible sunset and sunrise you could wish for.

The location was perfect, 5 minutes away from Alnwick and 5 minutes off from the motorway!

Couldn’t have wished for a better trip away, thank you to Shipley Lane Campsite.

My first thoughts of 2nd visit to this site are as follows

The hygiene on this site is brilliant there were 2 bottles of bleach and sanitizer at each of the water points. we went to 1 site near York and there was no bleach or sanitizer present pathetic, so we were both pleased

Shipley lane site know there job. well pleased by this. we hade a great time. great weather. great views.

Happy farmer who owns site gave me nice wave off tractor. Nice change as they are usually misery guts farmers most of time, so nice change from this

Lovely views, friendly host. Pitches were well spaced out with water etc close by. Good location for tourist sites.

Close to the road but not an issue. Woken up every night by dogs barking from one of the houses nearby, on and off all night.

We had a lovely 8 days here, a working farm as well as the Horses. Our 5 and 8 year old children were in their element, they soon knew the names of all the horses. Lots of footpaths and tracks to explore the local valleys and rolling hills. Great pub down the road in Eglingham (2 mile).

As far as the facilities go it is a nice grass site will very pleasant views, a couple of water points and toilets up the farm. New shower not working while were were there.

This is a great spot to escape city life and unwind.

If you want to ride, try and book ahead so they can plan for instructors to be available, the horse are very well schooled.

The only downside for us was the B road was too busy to cycle safely on.

Saying that we WOULD return!

This is a new site which is why we managed to book at short notice when everywhere else was full. Lovely spot - views over rolling hills - but note - it says sheltered on the C&CC website but its very open and could get very windy. Its basically a small field (on quite a slope) next to an Equestrian centre. Plenty of standpipes and a chemical loo emptying point (small moan here - they have cemented round the area and its a bit tricky to lift a full waste hog onto the lip to empty it)At £10 its a nice site and only a 10 minute drive into Alnwick - also ideally situated to drive up the coast to Seahouses etc.

Now for the downside - there isn't one if you are using your own van facilities but our shower wasn't working properly so decided to try out the shower and loo in the Byre. This was up a short but very steep hill (my daughter has mobility problems and was unable to walk up it) I asked the owner about parking nearby and she was quite happy to let her park either in front of the house or round the back of the facilities. Now this is fine for 1 car but if there a few tents there it could cause problems. The shower could be used between 6pm and 8am and frankly, no-one would want to use it. We were the only ones on site and I went up at 8pm to find the floor covered in mud (obviously from users of the equestrian centre so you can imagine what was in that mud), the hand wash basin dirty and the shower itself was filthy round the outside. It took me ages to actually get the shower to stop being either freezing or scalding.

There was a family with 2 small children arrived the next night and they were not happy at all with the walk up to the loos, pot washing etc and left in disgust the next day.

I think perhaps if the owners made clear the distance to the facilities it might help.

But as I said earlier, a nice site for those who don't have to use the facilities.
