I am South African and not used to campsites like the ones that you find in the UK, that don't allow group bookings and have strict noise restrictions. Those campsites are great for families and campers who want to chill out, but not good for those looking to head down for some sun, surf and good times with a group of friends.

This campsite caters mainly for younger people and groups. During the summer weekends and holidays you will have to deal with crowds coming back from a night out in the early hours of the morning and loads of stag / hen parties, but if you are going down with a group of friends and looking to party yourself then this shouldn't particularly bother you. Having said that, not every weekend is packed with party groups and the weeks are quiet.

With regards to facilities, the toilets are decent and there is a restaurant and bar on the campsite which is very convenient. It is also not far from the town of Woolacombe or the beaches, which is a bonus.

I went to Europa four times in 2008, once with only my husband and the rest of the time we went with small groups of friends (28-34 year olds) and we enjoyed it every time.

I personally think this campsite is great! Myself and 5 other friends stayed there this summer and had a wicked time.

We stayed in a surf cabin which I thought was brilliant. They are an excellent experience, and exactly what your looking for when you go woolacombe. I mean we were only in the cabin to sleep, not spend our holiday in the actual thing!

The staff were friendly and the club house was lively. We only spent one night in the club house and thought that the two for one drinks offer was brilliant. We went down into the village on the 2nd night to a club thing, which also was great fun, even though it's a bit small to call itself a club.

I thought the toilets were clean, the only complaint I have is the weather, and perhaps the swimming pool.

Cant wait for next summer, we're definitely going again!

Stopped here for the weekend, lots and lots of rain, we checked a few camp sites out in the area and this appeared to have the best drainage.

Our group all had sea views from there tents.

Found the staff on reception not very welcoming we had 2 children and they made it clear that children were really not welcome.

This is probably one of the more expensive sites available, not very well lit, you would struggle to find the toilets at night time!

Toilets and showers were quite spacious and clean.

The site has great views and one of the closest to woolacombe.

There were 4 stag do's there at the weekend but we found the people to be quite friendly and not a great deal of noise.

A group of friends and I had a surfing trip booked for July in Woolacombe and did a search of nearby campsites.

We were attracted to Europa Parks surf cabins as they looked comfortable and a bit more roomy and stable than a tent.

We had to book a 4 berth cabin as there were three of us and the pictures on the internet looked really good. We were told before hand that the bunk bed cabins had all been booked up so instead we would have a cabin with two double beds, which we were happy with. The cost of this for the 3 nights that we were staying was £180 for all of us.

On arrival we checked in and were given a map of where to find our cabin. We soon found it and were not greatly impressed by its size. Essentially it was a double bed bunkbed with no room either side (it was built into the wall) and about 3ft of room infront of this to put our stuff which was not enough. It did have a kettle, fridge and tv but these luxuries I do not believe are worth the extra cost compared to the cost of pitching a tent. We all bumped our heads, knees ect numerous times.

Only one of us could be in the cabin at a time to get dressed or make a cup of tea as there was no room. There was also a strange smell in the cabin and a notice on the wall saying please clean your cabin when you leave as we do not offer this service without a charge, (or something to that affect). This led us to wonder if the cabin was ever properly cleaned.

We were also at the end of a row of cabins with very noisy occupants, most likely a stag or hen do as they seemed to like to wear fancy dress a lot.Their tv must have been directly on the wall next to ours and we could hear it as clear as day all night, the sound of Kill Bill was not the best thing to fall asleep to. This was no good for us as we had to be down on the beach for 8.30am for surf lessons.

The cabin also must have had a water pump or some other device in it that regularly made a thumping and wirring noise which added to the problem of not being able to sleep due to noise.

The view was amazing though and we did have a small amount of decking to sit on, it was very windy though so sleeping bags were a must for this.

The showers were always hot and fairly clean, I think that is about the only positive thing I can think of about the campsite.

The surf ranch was staffed by young people who were unhelpful, and made us feel quite uncomfortable. On one occassion we asked if we could call for a taxi, to which a young girl replied 'the numbers are over there and you are gonna have to use your own phone'. There was no level of customer service at all. The food was reasonably priced but you get what you pay for. As a vegetarian the options were limited so for all the reasons above we generally choose to eat elsewhere.

The beach was about a mile down the road which was a very steep hill so a taxi ride was needed. This was about £4 or £5 so between three of us was not bad.

There was no shop on site but just outside of it was a spa garage. It was very expensive though so we tried to get anything we needed from Woolacombe.

I think the campsite is probably suited best to 18-21 year olds. I would not recommend the cabins. I did not stay in a tent but that would seem to be the better option in terms of value for money.

As you may notice from other reviews of Europa Park - this is a party campsite. I first stayed here in 2006, then twice more the same year and it was great. Since then I have been back twice in 2008 and HATED it. The site was overrun with partying 17 year olds, there is no noise control and music go on way into the early hours. I am 27, I like a good time but also like to be able to get up before 2pm the next day to surf.

Oh, and a cup of tea is £1.50. Which upset me.

We have recently visited this site as a small group of 7 people. It is a site with good, although neglected, facilities and ideal for a party atmosphere.

At check-in we were told to find our own spot indicating where large groups are normally put, so therefore louder, and where is reserved for hook-up. We found a good flat spot with great sea views - but unfortunatly very exposed and extremely windy. It was also close to the club house with it's loud music till about 12-1am and near some staff caravans who were very loud on one night. Down the bottom of the site, closer to the bottom corner near the road seemed quieter and more sheltered, the rest of our group moved down there when space became free. As far as I noticed there is no noise policy. Although it is a large site there are no staff patrols or anything like as far I could see.

The toilets are well laid out, with a shower basin and toilet in each cubicle. The showers are free with hot water on a push button. But they were filthy and I didn't notice them cleaned at all during our 4 night stay, sand, grass and mud generally covered the floor. The toilet roll (there were 4 large holders in each cubical) were occasionally filled but at times they had run out.

The club house or 'Ranch' was great when we went there. A fun atmosphere and two for one drinks during happy hour (9pm - 10pm) is always a bonus. Unfortunatly they also stop serving food at 9 so had to have a liquid dinner instead! There were a few stag/ hen groups, but nothing too outragous. There is an arcade to the back of the bar but most things were broken, really closely packed together or a bit dodgy - the air hockey was very sticky and you had to bash it to get the puck back out, that sort of thing. We didn't visit the pool or sauna so can't comment on those. The club house doesn't have a shop, but if you walk down the road there is a spar at the petrol station. It's pretty pricey - about the same as other petrol station shops really.

Despite what it says on the website it is NOT in walking distance to the beach or town. It's at the top of a pretty steep hill, which I guess would take about 30 minutes, but a lot of it without footpath. It'd take a lot longer to walk back because of that killer hill! You do however have amazing sea views from the site.

Woolacombe is a gorgeous village, a fantastic beach and just a few nice shops and bars without being commercialised. Car parks are £4-£5 per day, either right by the beach with sea view or across the road with a the ticket it lets you come and go during the day till 11pm, handy if you're coming back into town for dinner later.

I can only comment on the camping - not the other accommodation - I'd recommend for young groups for a few nights or if you want to camp with friends without being told to shut up at 10pm (like most sites!). If you prefer showers clean enough to be able to take your flip flops off and to be able to get a nights sleep when you get back from the pub, then perhaps just make it a short visit or give it a miss!

This is a great party venue. We stayed at this site to see in the New Year, on a 2 day all you can eat and drink deal. £85 including the log cabin and unlimited free drink (pump stuff, beers wines and ciders) for 6 hours each night. Plus two free all you can eat breakfasts. Fantastic value, the club bar and restaurant are great.

They had a brilliant DJ, DJ Sharky (not the happy hardcore one!), smoke machines, even a foam machine. Great views from all over the site, you are looking over a sandy beach. Friendly bar staff too. We were not allowed in the swimming pool at New Year for obvious health and safety reasons, the pool is indoors and heated but it looks a bit small. The sauna was OK and included, gets good and hot.

We are definintely returning for the summer party spirit and look forward to making new friends. I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants a fun, lively atmosphere by the sea.

 I have visited the site summer/winter 2007

I have been to the park many times this and last year because I cant get enough of the place.

The campsite is very warm, welcoming and friendly. It has great facilities all over the site, a fantastic bar and staff to match.

The atmosphere during the night is absolutely electric due to stomping tunes and a great dance floor.

After partying hard all night theres a great all you can eat breakfast for under £5 thats unmissable!

Chomping on good grub with great views of the beach and sea sets you up for the rest of the day.

This site is for the party animal!

Great deals like 2-4-1 on all drinks sets the mood for this amazing campsite.

The cabins are cozy and well looked after and in the winter theres nothing like chilling with a beer in the warm.

SURFS NOT BAD EITHER!

Im rambling on abit now but trust me its well worth goin!

5 of us went all aged between 26 and 32.  If you get the right pitch the site has really good views of the sea.  We were in an area with other groups and the other people seamed to be friendly.  Most of the pitches were flat however it was a busy weekend and we were tightly packed in.

The biggest problem was the  facilities.  They were filthy.  We all tried different ones through out the site and found you were lucky to have water in the shower never mind find a clean one!  I noticed the last person to leave a review said the same, well a year on and nothing has changed.

You will either love this site for its good atmosphere, bar and views or will hate it for the lack of clean facilities and unfriendly staff.

This site has the potential to be excellent however it lets itself down in so many ways.

I read reviews of this site and almost didn't book here.  However, as we knew we wouldn't get to Woolacombe until later Friday night we thought it best to book ahead.  Other places were booked so we tried this park.  £12 for adults and £6 for children aged 5+, agess 5 and under free. It would seem that since the other reviews were done, the park has been updated.  There are still the old toilet blocks, but the new blocks are based in log style cabins they are really nice with a big shower in for 2 people, toilet and sink so ideal to use as a family.  There was also a separate laundry facility. I would however, say that although the park is suitable for families, it is more suited to backpackers/surfers.

We arrived about 8pm and it was raining.  We were told where the family field was which was pretty much nearest to the clubhouse and play area which we thought was fine.  However, being new to camping it took us quite a while to put up our tent in the dusk, wind and rain.  However, by 10pm we were there and decided to go and get a drink and some food.  However we walked in like drowned rats and felt as though everyone was looking at us.  The bar was very packed as I suppose you couldn't really sit outside due to the weather.  Music very loud, there wasn't anywhere to sit so we decided to go back to the tent.  Couldn't get food there as they stopped serving at 9pm.

Didn't get a very good nights sleep.  Although the information said don't make any noise after 11pm, the music from the bar went on till about 1.30am.

The next morning  we were starving and decided to go for the eat as much as you like breakfast £4.95.  You could chose from either cooked or continental and there was a really good spread.  Drinks were not included in the price though.  We drove to the beach after as was too far to walk with 2 children and boards etc.  Parking near to the beach £5. However, we did spot a small car park after for £4.50 per day and you could use the same ticket to come back later upto 10pm, (if you managed to get your space again.)

After the day, went back to the campsite, weather better now so everything seemed rosier.  Had a drink in the bar, which is next to the play area,  My 8 year old played pool in the bar, there are about 3 pool tables and a small area at the back with some amusement type games.  We decided to eat there that evening and food was very resonable priced.  Had an early bird discount £6.95 per meal, and £3.95 for kids meals till 7.30.  Happy hour for drinks, buy one get one free from 9pm-10pm which explains why everyone else was pretty merry when we arrived the previous night.

We left the bar about 10.30, however, still the same problem with the music being loud till early hours.  So tired though so managed to slip OK.

Next morning just had cereal and was managed to pop down to the garage and get some milk, which is handily at the entrance to the park.  We had to be out by 10am which made us get up and down to the beach earlier.

In future we will probably choose a smaller quieter campsite, but would come back again if we couldn't book anything up beforehand.

As I mentioned before, it is really suited to surfers and large groups of people.  There seemed to be a stag do there that weekend!  Oh by the way, the pool isn't up to much, tiny, probably about 5mtrs x 5mtrs.
