Please note that Europa Holiday Park has undergone some fundamental changes and is now an adults only campsite. It is now marketed as a basic site with no clubhouse, swimming pool, games room as it was previously

This campsite is close to Woolacombe with great views over the bay from many locations on the site. ALthough on steeply sloping land, the site is divided up into small terraces, providing a large number of smaller areas suitable for groups to pitch together and feel that they have their own space. A basic pub on site, a bouncy castle some of the time, but otherwise no facilities specifically for children - although the campsite roads are as usual pretty good for cycling and skateboarding.
There is a footpath that runs from the campsite down to the town, which is mostly off-road or by minor roads, a pleasant 30 minute walk. It's too far to carry a surf board there and back, but there is plenty of parking in the town, £8 a day or £4 if you arrive later in the evening. Woolacombe is a fairly commercial centre, with brand surf shops, but also some nice pubs, cafes and restaurants.
We found the campsite facilities disappointing. Although there were many blocks of showers and toilets within easy reach of every part of the site, the showers were never hot and nor was the water at the washing up points. Of the three toilet blocks I used, the facilities were poorly maintained, with dirty walls and broken fittings.

My daughter and her friend went here for three nights and only stayed two! I went with them to put up the tent and was disgusted by the condition of the facilities after the weekend. I cannot understand why people would leave facilities in such a disgusting state just because they are not at home. I suggested they tried other toilets and showers however they said that they were no better.
On top of that there was a fire in the sauna which basically meant that the main facilities they went for were no longer available - they came home a day early. Considering the poor state of the facilities this site is over priced. Will not be going again despite the fabulous views.

We have just spent 3 days at this site in a surf cabin, we thought good value for money, £32 per night for the 3 of us. Cabins are great - we had a 3 birth for myself, husband and 8 year old - included heater, fridge, kettle and TV.
Showers were OK, plenty of hot water and in individual cubicles with a sink and toilet, but staff could not really keep up with cleaning them. Views from site are lovely and site is easy to get to and close to the town.
However, not really family friendly at all, the site totally caters for large groups, which we had no problem with until the bar shut at 1am. We were woken every night by shouting, drunk groups going back to their accommodation and on our second night had a lost sole trying to get into our cabin at 1. 15am. This really spoilt our stay as we were all very tired every day.
Used the very small pool a couple of times, daughter loved it. Nothing else for children, no play area or anything like that. Wet suit hire available on site, good value at £5 for half a day and £8 for a whole day. This site really should have been full given it's location and views - but I am sure the noise levels / drunk groups have contributed to this. We will not be returning.

As a family of six (two adults four children aged 16, 14, 11 and 6) we stayed at this campsite for a week. First impressions was superb but how disappointed we were.
The views over the bay is superb but this site was let down by a number of things.
1) Showers were always too hot, especially for my 6 year old.
2)the floors in there were always soaking wet and seemingly cleaned only once a week, you couldn't sit on the toilet without your trousers/shorts getting soaked whilst doing your business.
3) shower toilet rooms only had a hot tap. No cold tap for brushing your teeth unless you used the ones standing next to your tent which had no drainage.
4) Barriers for getting in and out of site operated by a card system. Problem is the entrance barrier is on a steep slope and you have to really get close to the barrier, to reach the card swipe panel whilst skilfully manipulating your clutch pedal or yanking your handbrake at 90 degrees to the car.
5) Yes its very noisy at the weekends. We could put up with that but on our first night after driving for 5 hours and pitching the tent, fireworks were let off at 1am.
Good points is it is only a mile from beach although walk is on a steep hill. Its a great beach and chipshop in town does great curry sauce for chips. Great views. Quiet in daytime unless you pitched by car exit barrier. Great eat all you want deal brekkie for 4. 95 but unlimited tea or coffee is also an extra 2 quid on that.
Enjoyed holiday there but wouldn't stay there again until it becomes a family orientated site. Where shower temp can be adjusted and you have a cold tap to brush your teeth and that the toilet washrooms are kept clean regularly.
Two days from end of our stay a board went up saying holiday camp staff required at the entrance along the main road. Think it proves my point about state of the shower/toilet washrooms.

Just stayed one night and did not use any of the 'facilities' so can't comment on them.
We thought it expensive - £19 with no hook up and then £3 on top of that for our car! We were in a campervan! The man on the desk mumbled something about it not being his fault he just works there.
Very hilly so difficult to get a level pitch and the barriers were a pain in the neck.
The view was great :-)

Just returned from staying at the Europa near Woolacombe
Good points are that it only cost me £17. 50 a night as there was only 1 adult and the 2 kids went free, this included electric hook up and £3 a night to park the car(whats that all about?)
The views over Woolacombe beach area which on a good day are stunning.
The pitches especially where we had our tent pitched on the (beach view) were ample size, if a bit on the sloping slide, but it wasn't enough to really notice when we were in the tent.
The bar area where we ate one night, the food was very good with good portions using the vouchers they give you as well makes it quite reasonable.
Happy hour between 9-10pm 2 for 1 better than paying £3 a pint
Bad Points Are
Toilet and shower areas really were not up to scratch, there was one block with three rooms each consisting of a shower toilet and hand basin, I did see them being cleaned everyday, but still they were unkempt, but the showers were hot and quite powerful
The washing up area where we were was just a basin outside in the open with luke warm water, although I did walk up to the upper field and there washing up area was under cover.
The garage next door is a petrol station and mini supermarket and boy is it expensive 60 pence a pint of milk, £1 for a tin of beans, £1. 12 litre of unleaded so beware you have been warned.
This site is well known for its stag and hen parties so there are lots of groups of boys and girls but during Monday to Friday when we stayed it was not too bad, a bit noisy one night but not awful, what it would be like on a weekend I wouldn't like to say.
There is a pool, a small one, alright for a quick dip and the showers in the pool area are good. Sauna was not working when we were there.
It is about a mile to the Beach which is great, surfing, body boarding, rock pools, golden sands cant fault it, watch out for the parking charges £6 a day
Overall this site is ok, would I go back, yes I would but only mid week.

We stayed here because it's open all year round.
Loos and showers have eco lighting that comes on when you move, so don't sit still on the loo too long! Facilities were clean.
We stayed a night and pretty much only slept there but did get asked to turn our music down around midnight which we found a little ironic as the log cabin behind us seemed to be having a bit of a party!
Looked like a good site for groups with many different accommodation options - little caravans, surf shacks and a pizza place on site. I believe a bus runs up and down into town in the summer. But it's an easy enough walk (obviously it is a hill!)

Having stayed at the site on many occasions over the years, we were disappointed by our recent stay.
The toilet blocks that we visited were dirty at all times of the day and unkempt.
The new barrier system is also a joke, when trying to find a place to pitch our tents, we went through the barrier into the site drove around and came out as it seemed we were in a one way system, tried to get back in and it would not let us (you apparently have to wait 15 minutes and they can’t re-set it), another time it let us in then would not let us out again and the staff said we just had to wait 15 minutes.
It is also very overpriced!
The good points about the place are the views which are fantastic and the happy hour which is from 9-10
