Just returned from 10 days at Gunvenna. What a fantastic site it is! It is really well kept with (friendly) staff members always to be seen around the site doing something. The pitches are a really good size and we never felt overcrowded at all. The toilets and showers were really well kept and cleaned numerous times during the day. There was always plenty of hot water in the showers, which were free of charge. The new kids play park was great and that and the larger playing field kept ours (aged 5 and 7) occupied most of the time with friends that they made. We also used the swimming pool quite a lot and that never got overcrowded, in fact there were times when we were the only ones there! The site is really well placed with Padstow, Port Isaac, Rock, Tintagel and Boscastle all within easy reach, as are the numerous beaches in the area (Daymer Bay is a favourite with us). The site shop is quite small, but stocks the essentials. Larger scale shopping can be found at the convenience store in Rock or at supermarkets in Wadebridge.
All in all we had a great time and we will definitely be returning next year.

My first visit to Gunvenna was a couple of years ago fortunately to my Uncles Lodge located at the site. Right from the start I was very impressed with the site & with it's cleanliness & friendly staff. I have since been back to stay at the lodge again & I was joined by my cousin who camped. This side of the site I had never been to & what struck me most of all was the cleanliness of the showers, toilets & washing facilities, What a lovely site to pitch a tent. I must say that from then, I was hooked. Since then, nearly every weekend, I have been going back to the site camping. It is just like a home from home.
The site location is perfect to get to my favourite places Polzeath one way & Rock the opposite direction, literally a couple of miles each way. The site caters well for children, a lovely pool to cool off in & play area that my children were certainly happy to play in. The site itself has a really good vibe, I've found the other campers & lodge owners are so pleasant, everyone is very friendly & speaks, just lovely. Lastly, The staff I have found are just so helpful & friendly, no matter what you require, they do their utmost to help & keep the site itself so clean & tidy.
I started to come here in a lodge, I now camp, My cousin has started to join us with his family & our most recent visit he also invited his friends along with their family & we will all be back again very soon. Thank You Team Gunvenna for giving us lasting memories & brilliant family holidays! :-)

What a great site! Yet another great holiday, the weather was awful but the family tried their very best to keep the site clean and usable. We have been here several times and have never had a problem with drainage, but due to the dreadful summer of 2012 our awning was constantly muddy, however the rest of the site was clean and tidy.
This is the only site that we have stayed on where we have had the offer of a tow onto the pitch ( and this has been in glorious weather as well as wet weather).
Nothing is too much trouble, we will be back.

Quiet, friendly, clean and tidy campsite. All round good value.
We were here off season so it was virtually deserted, but the staff were still friendly and helpful and the excellent facilities (showers, toilets etc) were kept sparklingly clean.
Good size pitches with well tended, short grass, with electrical hookups and drains. We have a Hi Gear Corrado 8, which is a beast of a tent and that fitted well.
Handy child's play area - although more suited to 5+ as some quite high up.
Also very handly placed near Polzeath - great beach but parking a little pricy and if you have young children the very handy Carruan Farm and play centre - small but very cheap and with a well kept soft play and good food. Not far to Bude, Newquay, Padstow etc.
All round good choice, even though it rained heavily most of the week the site drained very quickly.
Great value for money, will go back.

Ok this is a really hard review to write as my mind is split 50 / 50.
On arrival brilliant, helpful check in staff, made sure we knew where we were going etc perfect.
Facilities:
Children's games room, small indoor swimming pool (not heated)
Showers brilliant only 4 cubicles but clean and warm, plenty of toilets, sinks, hair dryer again clean and warm.
Good washing up facility, laundry room and even a dog wash all great.
Camping site quite small as there are static caravans and lodges on site. Immediate impression perfect apart from very small dog walking area.
Location: 3 miles to Polzeath, 3 miles to Rock, nice little pub 10 mins walk away. Great location for getting up to Devon i. E. Bude also central and southern cornwall and places like Newquay.
Wadebridge very close with a Lidl and Tesco for supplies.
All was going well until 2 incidents:
1 - one of our vehicles leaked oil onto the grass, completely new leak we didn't mean for it to happen. Warden extremely rude to us ordered us to clean it up.
Before I explain incident number 2 I must stress the warden said to us when the Boscastle floods happened they knew exactly where all occupants or all tents were.
2 - 80mph gales set in. Totally not the campsite's fault about the weather but we were a group of 3 tents. Only 1 tent got a phone call to say tent had fallen down. When this tent occupant called back we were told sorry its not yours we are just letting people know its windy and your tents are all ok. They did not know we were all together they assumed because we asked about the 3 tents together and they did not tell us to come back immediately which they should have done. Once we got back 2 tents completely wrecked had to cut holiday short by 2 nights. Called campsite next day to just say we felt their procedure needed some work and they should have told us to return immediately and called each tent. Got shouted out by the warden who slammed phone down.
During the phone call we found out campsite had re-pegged out tents a couple of times we do appreciate they did this and didn't know this on the day all we wanted was a phone call per tent and they should have not told us our 3 tents were ok.
We were hoping to return but due to the phone call will now go elsewhere

We have just returned from a very nice few days stay at the Gunvenna Campite in St Minver. The campsite is one of the cleanest and tidiest campsites I have ever stayed in. The owners were very friendly and helpful with local information. Its on a small flat site which was ideal for us with a campervan. The campsite was very quiet in the late evening. Toilets and showers were great. The showers had lots of hot water even later in the morning. We made good use of the small laundry, again prices were very reasonable, for drying clothes after rainy days. There is a small shop which sells the usual loaf of bread, eggs, bacon etc (shame it didn’t sell nice fresh baked croissants but that did save our waistlines!) and games room with snooker table, table football and golf machine on site which the kids used a lot. The prices in the games room were very cheap which meant the children could go up whenever they wanted without breaking the bank. There is a nice pub about a 15 minute easy walk in the main village you wiull need a torch if going later in the evening. The prices were quite reasonable and food was good. There was only a couple of minor niggles but they weren’t a major problem. With a reasonable size awning, our pitch was not quite big enough. We used the grass next to the pitch and no one came to us to ask us to move which was greatly appreciated. There is a small indoor heated swimming pool but isn’t really suitable for more than a few people at any one time and was slightly cool but the children enjoyed it. There isn’t a changing room attached but there is a toilet/shower block nearby to change in. There is the a child’s play area with a sand base but the children weren’t keen to use it because of the sand but this may be just the children being a bit fussy. I would definitely recommend the site to anyone looking for a quiet pretty site and I hope that we will make use of it again as it is so close to Rock, Padstow, St Isaac and the Camel Trail.

Fantastic site, our pitch had glorious views of the river dart and was close to the playground which our children (8 & 5) loved. The playground was quiet from about 9pm onwards which was welcome.
Fantastic facilities plenty of showers, washing facilities and toilets. Lovely food prep area and washing up area and launderette.
The site was well situated for visiting brixham, Torquay, Dartmouth, goodrington sands we visited all of these and had a fabulous time.
Visited the pub in the village which was locally owned and served some gorgeous food did smaller versions of the adults meals for the kids instead of the usual nuggets, fish fingers etc.
Not far from a park and ride to brixham and a steam railway station at churston.
Highly recommended will be visiting again very soon.

Second visit and still just as pleased.
A clean well kept site, pleasant owners and clean hot showers, perfect.
Was quite wet for part of the time we were there and the site coped very well.
On the day we were due to come home, it was a lovely day and the owner came over and told us there was no rush to pack up and we could stay longer!
There is a small indoor pool which the children loved, a small games room and in reception you can buy milk, eggs and bacon etc along with other basic camping supplies.
The site is perfectly placed for Polzeath, Newquay and Padstow etc etc.
All in all a perfect site and one that we will be sure to return to. Most of the people that we spoke to on the site were also return visitors which says how good it is.

Nice campsite a couple of miles away from Polzeath. Very friendly staff - they lent me a long lead to connect to the electric. Well maintained and nicely flat.
Really clean toilet facilities.
Would definitely go back there.
The Four Ways Inn is a 9 minute walk away and is excellent. You need to be vigilant on the roads as they are narrow and busy. You really do need a a torch at night.

We stayed here for the first time as it's the nearest to the (wonderful) St Endellion Music Festival. As it's on quite a busy road we feared it would be noisy, but in fact the touring field is set well back from the road.
As others have said, it's very well maintained, with properly hot shows and toilets that really flush. My wife mentioned a cubical door was sticking and a man was there to fix it within minutes!
All pitches have electricity and several with hard-standing have water and drainage on the pitch. Obviously it's different in high season, but off-peak there's a playground and a wide expanse of grass for children to play and ride their bikes in safety.
The young man in reception was very friendly and helpful.
