Quiet and peaceful. Beautiful walks on Cannock Chase on the doorstep.
If you’re looking for a quiet, simple site that’s good for the soul then this is for you.
Good pricing,
You’ll need to use your own facilities and pop a couple of quid in the meter for the electric.

Small, quiet site on the Chase.
Ideal base for dog owners wishing to walk in the area.
Water and waste water facilities included in the price. Electricity available on payment of a minimum of £1 in the meter. We in £2 and used less than £1 during our 1 night stay.
Would probably use again if in that area.

We love this gem of a site! Our folding camper felt and looked great here.
Basic facilities on the site but amazing views, walks surrounding you to keep you busy.
Pat was very helpful, was a bargain £15 per night including electric hook up.
We only live 3miles away but will be coming back here lots to use our Pennine Pathfinder

We were given a friendly welcome when we first arrived and phoned up to get the gate code.
It's a simple, flat site, with electric hookup, drinking water, and toilet waste disposal facilities.
It's a perfect location for a quick bike ride to the Birches Valley site at Cannock Chase. However it is a drive into Cannock or Rugeley for any shops, pubs etc (that we know of).
Do not follow the directions provided by satnav - it will tell you to approach the site eastbound along Kingsley Wood Road. Do not do this in a car, let alone with a caravan in tow - it is VERY bumpy and pot-holey! Approach from the east, traveling West alone Kingsley Wood Road.
All in all, I think we will be back soon. Perfect site for a short break to enjoy Cannock Chase.

We booked 4 nights as we were attending the L2F Folk Festival in Lichfield over the weekend with the city being only a few miles from the site we were able to commute back and forwards as needed.
Arrived rather late on a damp Thursday night and was met by the site owner who didn't seem to be fazed and even loaned us a second torch to help with our getting pitched.
Thanks! It was very dark on site.
Couldn’t fault the friendliness of the owner and other campers we spoke to whilst we were on the site, so pleasing to meet others willing to extend a helping hand when needed.
As indicated in the details this site is very basic (no toilets or showers), also the access 'road' from the end of the tarmac is approx. 1/3rd mile on rough, although hard, road stone best traversed very slowly and with care.
As we only commuted to Lichfield we cannot comment on any other of the attractions that the area around Cannock Chase offers! Apart from the Cathedral, Garrick Theatre and the (amazing) Guildhall we didn't see much else in Lichfield itself (oh, and the Bus Station car park!).

This site is less than a mile from where we live, but it is great. Access is a little challenging as the track is quite narrow and rough in places, but manageable.
We went there on the first occasion to try out a new caravan. This time I had to be on call for an ill family member, we just needed a break.
It is on Cannock Chase and a deer run is adjacent, deer are usually seen daily, together with other wild life.
The site is basic with few facilities, there is only one hard standing, which, in our opinion, is not in the best position for 'deer watching' The little hut on site usually has a supply of eggs and various packs of meat and home made cakes.
Everything is fresh and delicious, and as a result sell out very quickly!
If you want a basic site with lots of wildlife and peace and quiet, this is for you.

Just returned from a three night stay at this site. Very friendly owners.
The site is right in Cannock Chase and very handy for walking and cycling. Takes a bit of getting to down the bridleways but it is worth it.
On the site is a small hut containing info and a fridge freezer with bacon etc in it and fresh duck and hen eggs for sale. Honesty box for payment. The grass surface of the pitching area is a bit delicate so great care has to be taken when getting on and off the site to prevent churning the site up.
Whilst waking nearby we saw lots of deer (Fallow and Red)many buzzards and two types of woodpeckers. On the site you will see from time to time the resident peacock.
As for the electric hook-up we had absolutely no problems. There are no showers or toilets but a chemical toilet disposal point.
The site is a little gem so I was unsure whether I should tell anyone else but it deserves some praise.
I would definitely return to this site. By the way Rugerly and Cannock are very close.
