Beutiful site at the head of the loch.
The toilet is down the road, but we used our own.
The views are amazing. £5pp is collected by Mark in the evening.
If you like wild camping then this is for you.

Perfect location at the head of Loch Na Keal, with stunning views. We have been coming here for many years.
The owner is both friendly and helpful. The site itself is very basic, the facilities just a walk away.
However there is no facility to empty the toilet cassette waste, grey water or to fill up with fresh water- another local campsite offers this disposal at a fair price- you just need to factor this in when booking.
This is no problem to us and we will continue to camp here for many years to come.

Perfect. A basic campsite but with an amazing view.
Well worth a stay, we wish we had spent all of our nights staying at Killiechronan campsite.
£5pppn is great value for money and the campsite has everything you need.

We liked the location of this site, with views of Loch na Keal and the surrounding mountains. We also liked the fact that you could just turn up and no booking was required.
Toilets were basic and a bit of a walk away, however they were clean and tidy and the price reflects this. £5pppn.
I would not necessarily recommend for families with very small children as the road is very nearby and they would have to be under close supervision all times.

The camp side was great with beautiful views. We were the first one there so managed to choose one of the best spots 😉 with “private” access to the lake beach. It was quiet even after more people came.
The gentleman who looks after the campsite was friendly, but we saw him only when he collected money (understandably) Toilets are a bit further from the campsite, but with good weather, that was not an issue.
Toilets facilities included: 1 gents toilet and 1 ladies toilet, sink with hot and cold water. Good for keeping basic hygiene and to wash dishes. No showers. It was kept clean, toilet paper, soap, hand sanitiser (at the entrance) and cleaning product available.
Quite a good camp position if you want to drive/travel to places around the The Isle of Mull.
The only downside was: no showers, no recycling bins and there was a horse riding school or maybe private owned (not sure) walking nearby and horse poop left “everywhere” which when you want to walk with kids and you have to watch where you going or see it in the water where kids would like to play - is not ideal. Luckily no bad smell.
Definitely recommending and hopefully, we will come back one day.

Brilliant location and beautiful view. Originally planned to stay 2 nights but we decided to stay longer!
Basic facilities, but it was expected so not too much of a problem for us!
We contacted the site owners through UkCampsite web page and they got back to us straight away.
Highly recommend a stay at Killiechronan campsite.

Absolutely wonderful, it was like staying in a nature park.
Lots of excellent little corners that gave privacy and a direct view to wonderful scenery.
Well informed that facilities were very basic, but price was only half of the sites with fuller facilities.

Lovely setting at the head of the loch. A bit of a trek to the loo but they were clean.
Owners were very friendly and I'd recommend it for anyone but probably not for children due to the lack of showers etc.

This is a basic site, but the location and setting will not be beaten. Amazing views down the Loch. A great base for watching the wildlife on Mull. The basic facilities, toilet and sink, are about a 200m walk away. These were very clean whenever I visited.
The owners replied quickly regards booking, which is the first time I have booked but given the the current circumstances seemed appropriate.
If you are used to wild camping or don't need much in the way of facilities this is a great place to stay, would recommend.

At £5 per person/per night this is excellent vfm, and you cant complain at the price.
What you get for that price is location, location, location, and not much else.
No on site toilets( they are 500 yards down the road at a farmhouse.
No shower.
No on site water ( again 500 yards down the road at the farmhouse)
Bins are at the same place.
The site is a rough patch of ground, right next to the road.
But the views are amazing.
Lochs, and hills.
Simply stunning.
During my 3 days it got really cold one night.
A group of 4 caravans, sharing a petrol generator for power( no electricity on site) decided to start up the generator at midnight, to heat their vans. It noisily ran till 5am, and was the most selfish act I have ever witnessed at a camp site.
Owner calls each evening to collect his money.
Booking probably not needed.
Mull is spectacular, and calgary bay is so beautiful.
Finally, ground is very stoney.
Take rock pegs.
