I recently stayed here for 2 nights, my first time camping since I was a child. The site was spacious and well maintained. The toilets and showers were of a very high standard and frequently cleaned. There was a mix of campers when I visited and there was a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Being a farm in the country there was the added bonus of some sheep and lambs who didn't bat an eyelid at the visitors.
Although I have children I didn't bring them on this stay, however those that were there looked like they were enjoying themselves and for the keen young angler, the pond looks great.
There's a friendly pub over the road which helped keep me and my friend fed and watered.
I would recommend this site for anyone looking to have a relaxing time - I'm planning to return very soon.

Just enjoyed two days at Brook House Farm. The location and views are beautiful and the site has excellent facilities. This is a good area for walking. The owner was very friendly and hospitable. Will be going back in the near future.

Pure bliss!
I've just spent three nights camping by the river. The field was very large, level and well maintained.
The showers were a huge surprise, two hotel standard en-suite affairs complete with loo, shower and hand basin. All very nicely tiled and spotlessly clean.
The lady who runs the site is always around when needed and is happy to deliver logs etc right to your tent - the logs were only £3. 50 for a large bag that lasted all night.
I really don't understand some of the earlier negative reviews, I've been camping in the UK for over thirty years and Brook House Farm is truly as good as it gets.
I really can't comment on how child friendly the place is as I don't have kids but the ones that were there seems to be well looked after, often by Charlie the sheep!
Looking forward to going back soon.

Stayed here may bank hol weekend. It was a very wet weekend but it didn't spoil it at all for us. A beautiful site in a stunning location, we pitched down by the river in the river field. Amazing views of the river Severn and unspoilt country side. Facilities were excellent. Modern and spotlessly clean with lots of hot water.
The campsite owners were very welcoming and fantastic hosts. We enjoyed meeting Charlie the handsome Dartmoor sheep and seeing all the baby lambs.
Local pubs nearby very friendly and welcoming good food and beer.
We would highly recommend this site for families, couples groups and anyone that enjoys camping. We will definitely return.

It was our 1st time here but enjoyed our time at Brook House Farm. The adult tent pitch enabled us to get a nice spot on the banks of the River Severn, which is the border between Wales and England (we were just in Wales!). The good points are as follows:
- Fantastic views on the river bank
- Facilities were spotless and cleaned regularly
- Juia, the owner, was really friendly and helpful
- You can rent fire pits and buy logs to burn at a good price
- There is a shop where you can get information on local attractions, and the essentials (including the ace pork pies)
- BBQs are allowed but have to be standing
- Pitches aren't marked out so you can choose where you want to be
- Location is handy for visits to local attractions, including Shrewsbury, Bridgnorth, Oswestry, Welshpool to name but a few (all nice places)
- Nice pub over the road (Fir Tree Inn)
The bad points are as follows:
- Mind the sheep dung when pitching a tent, it could surprise you how much sheep leave their No 2's!
- May be worth updating the website to include the tariff per person/night, as there was a mis-understanding with a group about the price per head
- Otherwise, not a lot

Stayed for two nights in a tent on the river field. Lovely site and well located, pubs nearby for food/drink, great walks and cycling on the doorstep. Owners very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Shower facilities just refurbished and are the best I have seen anywhere on a campsite. There are numerous options to stay here from the B&B to Pods, caravanning, tenting etc. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for a long weekend and can't wait to return next year. Julia the owner was lovely. We even got a tour of her lovely house and a coffee in her kitchen after our journey. The site is set on three tiers and has lovely views over the river seven. Only two showers but that never became a problem and they where kept clean and tidy. They housed the toilet in there too so like being at home. There is a shop on site stocking all sorts including teas coffees and cakes. It was lovely to sit out in the early sun and admire the view. There is a lovely little pub across the road and plenary of nice walks near by. It's in the middle of no where but still close enough to the real world. All in all we had a great time and a lovely relaxing stay.
Thanks for everything Julia and see you in 2014.

Just had a weeks stay at this lovely campsite. On arrival we were met by the owner she made us very welcome and showed us to our pitch and where the facilities were. There are 2 showers/toilets and a separate toilet at the moment but the owner is in the process of having 3 more built. Though the site was busy we never had to wait, they were spotlessly clean. There are hard standing pitches or there are grass. At the bottom of the site you can pitch your tent next to the river severn. It was popular with tents when we were there. There is a camping pod, or bell tents you can hire, or a holiday let, there are rooms in the b/b that the owner showed to us that are out of this world. There is a fishing pond on site that will be ready for use next year. The shop on site was closed but had been open all during the summer. There is a pub across the road. All in all lovely site will be returning soon

My five friends and I just got home from this site, all in agreement that we have never felt more comfortable or welcome at a campsite. The owner was a lovely lady who was constantly on hand to help us with whatever we needed. On finding out we planned to walk up to Rodney's Pillar, (which was a fantastic experience with breathtaking views) she even offered to personally drive us to the beginning of the footpath. Despite a minor disturbance involving an unpleasant customer, Mrs Owen maintained her dignity and the same high level of care and hard work as before.
The campsite itself was beautiful and highly satisfactory. It included a block of luxury showers which seemed to always be available and beautifully clean. There were plenty of toilets including some VERY glamorous portaloos which were brand new. The site seemed to be improving every day, even as we were there. There is a new shop also on the site which was well run and freshly stocked with food and lovely gifts and souvenirs. The residents of the surrounding neighbourhoods were also friendly and helpful. We didn't experience a single unpleasantly during our whole visit and I greatly look forward to going again. Flawless!

This site as per the other reviews is a work in progress, upon arrival we were advised to pitch next to an abandoned caravan next to the fishing pond (not yet in use). This field was quite long in places, but not too bad where we pitched.
The facilities consist of a modern wooden cabin with 2 fitted household style “bathrooms”, each containing a toilet, washbasin and shower cubicle along with a separate toilet with no washbasin. On the Saturday these were not adequate for the number of people on site, if 2 people were having showers people had to wait to use the toilet, also toilet roll ran out and the bins in the “bathrooms” overflowed. The facilities are nice, just not enough of them when the site is full.
We hired a firepit for a night, this was nice and good value, receiving a second bag of wood at a reduced price.
The Severn Way is next to the campsite and accessible from it, however when trying to walk along it we were met with herds of cows, not good when there are dogs and children in the group. The gateways didn’t always have dog flaps next to the stiles for access.
The scenery was really nice, due to the cow problem mentioned above we ended up walking along the local lanes, scenic flat and lots of considerate drivers.
