Spent one night at this site. It is in a great position, with nice walks from the doorstep straight down to the severn, a great sunset, and has enormous potential (very close to getting there!), but we chose to move on after one night despite originally wanting to stay longer.
We paid £20 for the nice flat gravel EHU pitch, plus £3. 50 per child. We paid £7 for a fire pit, plus wood.
The owner was very welcoming and chatty. They are in the process of moving/rebuilding the shop unit which will be between their back garden and the hardstanding pitches at the top of the site. All visitors were on the top tier when we were there (she apologised for the squash), as there was work to be done further down - it's just a grassy field down quite a slope. They have made a fish pond, (still to be stocked and fenced in) and they have their own sheep in a neighbouring field.
The top tier had caravans around it and a small grassy pitch in the middle for the children to kick a football around. No other playground for the children. If you walk to the river, there is a point low enough and safe enough for the children to go pond dipping, through the bottom field from the little wooden bridge.
There were 3 toilets - one by itself at the back of the block, and 2 at the front which also doubled as shower rooms. They were spacious rooms, with a chair, sink, mirror. They were free and totally spotless. There is a useful low sink at the back of the block for washing muddy boots. There was a washing up sink too, with lots of lovely hot water in the evening after our dinner.
Unfortunately, the weekend we were there, the water was still frozen in the morning (our fault for camping in winter!) so the toilets only flushed once (for the earliest riser), then couldn't refill until the water had defrosted. The showers weren't working until water defrosted either - and we were on the road before it had done that.
The owner was very friendly and didn't mind when we said we weren't staying a second night. She was very apologetic about things that weren't up and running yet, and it does seem close to being finished. I phoned to make the booking and felt I could have been told then, that not everything was in place. On their website, and on ukcampsite, it states everything as if it's already up and running - they had 1 pod, none of the bell tents up yet, and pond not yet stocked, and no shop. I know it's early in the season, but maybe a word about their hopeful finish date would be fairer than visitors being disappointed on arrival. Julie was very accommodating once we were there, but it would have been good to know in advance.
For potential, this site would probably get a 9 out of 10. Based on our stay, I'd give it 7.

On first arrival at this site I was a little concerned as having had such bad weather just before the Easter Bank Holiday weekend in the area. we were advised that we were the only people staying on site! This was due to the owner being conscientious and advising anyone with children that the temperatures had been below freezing and it wouldn't be wise to stay, which was a credit to her as this lost her a lot of money over the holiday period, but she had other peoples best interest at heart.
This site is still in progress and I look forward to seeing it on completion. The shower/toilet block was immaculate. The driveway onto the site gives way to the most spectacular views. We stayed on the top field due to the weather as there was hardcore to pitch on, the field was left a little boggy.
The nearest pub was literally 2 minutes walk from the site entrance, The Fir Tree. They served lovely and very reasonably priced food and our dogs were very welcome. There was a roaring fire and great ale.
Nearby is Rodneys Pillar which is well worth a walk to although you can't fault the views and walks in every direction!
Overall we had a lovely stay. Julia is one of the most hardworking people I have ever met and I hope the site becomes everything she is working towards. We shall definitely be visiting again with friends. (and Charlie the sheep was a friendly visitor every morning!)

Nice area, bed and breakfast looked nice, prone to flooding, no disabled facilities, even the drive way is not suitable for wheel chairs. Not enough toilets for the size of the site, only 3. 2 of which are in with showers, therefore if the showers are being used the toilets are out of bounds. There is a lovely local pub that serves good food at a reasonable price. Only a few electric points that means there are a numerous amounts of cable everywhere,

Had a week here at this very nice site. It is a new site that is having work done on it, and having constant improvements made. The views are lovely. The owners are very nice and very very helpful. The lady came round to see us a couple of times to see if we were happy(which we were)but not in an intrusive way. The only slight negative is the entrance to the site, it could do with some signage so you know where it is, and it is a bit of a narrow gateway to get in, you just have to take it carefully. But once you are in you are rewarded with some lovely views. We would go back there again.

Fantastic little site on the banks of the river severn run by a lovely couple who were so warm and welcoming. A newly set up site which was very busy, had great facilities including shop for food and gifts. Anything you wanted you just had to ask and they would bend over backwards to do so for you, who else would do that? Will definitely be returning.

Just stayed at Brookhouse farm over the bank holiday
Mum & Dad in the B&B, sister and family in a posh pod, brother & girlfriend in their camper, me & my family in our tourer,
I'm so glad we picked Brookhouse farm & can only echo what innowayboard has said, the owners are very friendly & could not have done more to make sure our family weekend was perfect!
It's worth remembering the camp site is new and is still lacking a few things but the owners have big plans and I have no doubt they will be carried out when she starts cracking her whip in his direction!
We will be going back!. Soon!

What are the essentials for a decent campsite? Nice views. Check. Clean showers and toilets. Check. Friendly hosts. Check. A flat pitch. Check (ish).
On the face of it Brook House Farm is the perfect campsite. In time I’m sure it will be. The couple running it are endearing /fascinating. We turned up in the rain and were immediately offered a cup of coffee to raise our spirits. That sums the place up really.
The site is new and is positioned behind their successful B&B and back garden (which ended up with tents pitched on it by the end of the weekend). The shrewd entrepreneur running the site is anxious to make your stay as good as possible. She seemed terrified of bad reviews.
It’s helped by being in lovely countryside with a river running at the bottom of the site. It has a bit of a steep bank between the top of the site and the field by the river and only the top portion of the site has electric hookups at the moment.
Some of the pitches at the top were on a slope although the bottom field is flat (if not a bit bumpy) This caused a few issues with some turning up, as the top of the site filled up quickly.
In fact by Saturday night it was more like a car park than a campsite at the top. Due to the numbers the queues for the showers and toilets were long. The other was that currently they only have one washing up sink and by the looks of things one water tap. So more queues. However don’t let this put you off. Read on.
The two showers and three toilets were clean all the time and the little shop is ideal for bits and pieces. The lady also runs a shop on site selling everything from handbags to middle class ornaments with whimsy generic slogans that people seem to like.
When the sun finally shone we spent some time soaking in the comings and goings at the site, calculating just how big a cash cow this campsite is going to be (very) while having a a campfire (fire pits can be supplied on request which is pretty good) and many glasses of wine. Ideal.
You cannot deny the ambition of the successful couple running this place. They have many plans for the winter (terracing to add more flat pitches, adding more showers/toilets) and they have longer term goals (adding log cabins, extending the electric, buying a TVR etc). They aren’t campers themselves (too rich) but they are keen to receive suggestions.
If they do what they say they will and don’t get too greedy this will be a superb campsite that should be on your short list. In the meantime as long as it isn’t too busy you really couldn’t ask for any more.
Other notes:
Close to a few pubs. Nearest a mile away serves good beer and decent food (average main is £12)
Rodneys Pillar is a 1. 5 miles away. This pillar at the top of a large hill provides incredible 360 degree views around the area (you can see Liverpool docks on a good day)
Supermarkets - expensive Spar/Texaco garage a couple of miles away. I would drive the 8 miles to Welshpool for the local Tesco instead.
