Had a lovely may bank holiday here, new shower block been built so we were told to use the marina showers, they were fab, we had a pitch on the river front, it was amazing, there is a nice cafe that sells alcohol too and tables looking over the river, we only live 18 miles away but its one of our favourite places to visit and there is a bus stop at the entrance that takes you direct into York only 10mins ride for £2. 00. We love it.

We have just spent a lovely two nights at York Marina. This is a fantastic location for visiting York and has the bonus of beautiful views across the river. It is a peaceful, secure site and is close to route 65 of the National Cycle Trail from York to Selby. There is a lovely pub close by and the site has a shop and cafe on site, an added bonus. The facilities are as good as many, heated shower and toilets and the staff are friendly and helpful. What more can you ask for!

At time of visiting (June 2014) was undergoing building extension to toilets. Workmen storing tools and cables in Ladies and going back and forth in there when females inside. Gents toilet attached to yard/workshop and despite booking reply stating that key will be given for toilets they are used by staff in the workshop and customers visiting the workshop/shop/cafe, try having a shower and shave in a public toilet in you local High Street and you might get the picture! The grass site itself had been fairly recently reinstated(poorly) after what appeared to be drainage work and as such these particular areas were very muddy after rain. I complained to the office staff about the situation and was assured this would be passed to the manager, I heard nothing after that. I followed this with an email complaint to the management, still no reply. I have now left this in the hands of the Caravan Club. £25 per night!, a liberty. Despite all of this negative feedback it is in a very good location with terrific views of the river and does have the potential to be a good site but for the money need to sort out the public toilets, ground conditions and the poor management.

Just returned from York marina having spent 3 lovely nights there, site is very well run and clean and tidy, fantastic views from your caravans looking over the river and the marina, we will be returning for a longer stay in 2014 but I suggest to everyone to book early because this site will only get more popular.
You receive a gate card when you book in which allows you to come and go as you please and means your caravan is safe and secure,

Nicely situated over looking the river and boats. Easy to get the bus into York centre and good for walks. Didn't use the shop or café so can't comment. Hope they provide washing up facilities in the future, although only a CL site would think charges reflect additional service. Now for the negative, in the 2 days we were on site the ladies toilet block was not cleaned, or if was, not to a good standard. Also noticed skirting edges very dirty and shower very grubby, I had to clean before use which is a shame on a new block. Sorry, get this sorted and would return because of location.

We have just returned from a wonderful weekend at York Marina, which I booked at the last minute on the Friday we wished to stay.
From when I booked to the moment I hooked up to leave, every member of staff could not do enough to help.
The facilities and location were fantastic!
This site is a great find, and we will definitely return.
A big thank you to everyone involved!
Oh I nearly forgot, the boat hire was an added bonus, lots of fun and very enjoyable. If you decide to stay give it a go, you will love it, we did!

Nice site new toilet block in Marina a few mins walk from main area, they have a slip way but declined to let me use it, they also declined to let me have my 11 ft Dory boat any where on the site. I paid them all up front £480.00 for about three weeks further to cover bank holidays, when I asked about the slip way, they said sorry not allowed. I then asked for a refund and cancelled my bookings which in turn they did. Any one thinking they can use the slip way if you are staying on site, please be aware this is not allowed even though the advertise this facility.

What a lovely site. Views hard to beat and one of the most relaxing sites we have ever stayed at. The marina toilet block was luxurious and having the shop and small café/bar was a treat. We did think at £21 per night it was pricey for a C. L but the facilities are more like a full site so the cost wasn’t as grudged as it might have been. Dishwashing sinks would be a nice addition. The proximity to York was the attraction for us in the first place but we would recommend a weekend at the marina with dinner at the Blacksmiths Arms just to spoil yourself if you are anywhere near.

Well what a Fabulous spot, We have never done the CL sites as we usually go for more equipped sites but as this was a higher price for a CL we knew that it would be a good spot, and it is, its lovely, we're so glad that we came.
The views are spectacular over the boats and down the river.
Good little shop that sells all your essentials.
There is no dog walking facilities, you would have to go off site to walk your dogs but that suits us as we don, t have any!
There is no outdoor washing up area unfortunately but, as this is their first year hosting a caravan site they welcome any feedback and are willing to listen to all suggestions and am sure in the future we will see a wash up area and any teething problems soon rectified.
As previously mentioned the shower block that is farthest away is the best one but its only approx 500 yards away and its a nice walk passed all the boats moored up and worth that extra little walk but having said that the one next to the caravans is more than adequate.
Lovely little play area near the 'nicer' shower block and although its not right next to the caravans and is slightly out of eye shot there are tables and benches you can go and sit at with a book or a glass of wine! while the children play. There is also a fab play area in the village just behind the village hall, its a left just before you get to the local pub, and just passed this play area there is a field full of lamas!its a lovely walk out.
You need a key card to get in if you arrive after 5pm so make sure you arrive before then or they will send you one in the post before you come.
Don't get this York Marina site mixed up with the York Marine site as they are two totally different sites!
Bus outside the entrance takes you to York or Selby, also its only round the corner to a park and ride at the McArthur Glen Outlet.
We hired a lovely new boat from the reception for the afternoon as a surprise for the family and had a great time, paid £109 for the full afternoon and sailed up to york, we took a picnic with us and had a fab time, it was well worth every penny and something just a little bit different to do.
In a couple of years when this site takes off am sure it will be quite difficult to get booked in.
Good luck to them, as all in all this is a lovely spot and all the staff we have met are very friendly, willing and helpful. We will be back, English weather permitting!

Great Site, I visited with my daughter for our 1st solo outing without my husband.
The views across the river and boats sailing by are lovely.
The toilet block is clean and well looked after but as has been previously mentioned is not as nice as the marina one which is further away, but you are given a code to access this.
There is a great playground for children.
The ' cycle the solar system' cycle path is fabulous and is only a short ride from the marina entrance.
The site appears to drain well as we had a pretty wet weekend but there were no problems with leaving as the site is on a slight slope down to the river
We are returning with my husband towards the end of the Month.
It's a little expensive for a CL, more like CC site prices, but for the location and proximity to York I guess its worth paying.
