Great campsite. Flat ground so good for tents. Really good location for exploring all around York. Very friendly owner. Lent us electric hook up cable and light after we'd forgotten our torch. Only a few toilets and 1shower (free) but enough for a campsite this small. I'd definitely recommend. Nice field for kids to run around in. Short drive to local shop. Pub with an Indian restaurant next to the site. Had a lovely curry outside our tent! Very relaxing campsite.

If all you need is a flat site with a decent loo and shower then this place is worth a look. We paid £15 a night for our tent with no electric hook-up. As other reviewers have mentioned the owner Martin is a cheerful and helpful man who is happy to give help and advice if required. The site is pleasant and flat but the ground is very stony so pitching took a little time. The toilet, shower and washing up facilities were really good for a camp site and always kept clean and stocked with loo roll and hand wash. The road next to the site is busy but quietens down at night and so is not a bother. Location is good for getting out and about, we visited York and Bridlington for example but there are plenty of other attractions within driving distance. As others have said, Mahdi's the Indian Restaurant in the local pub is really worth a visit especially after struggling to get your pegs in that ground!

Had mixed feelings about adding my honest opinion of this site. Not because it was in any way a let down - on the contrary it was delightful - but because I don't want too many people to know about it for fear of it being full up whenever I wish to return!
Alas I feel the owners deserve a favourable response. So my original idea of saying 'nothing to see here' was scrapped.
Martin and Sue were very friendly and helpful, detailing the many places and local walks available, and generally couldn't do enough for you. This obviously wore off on their young son Ben, who also deserves special mention because he too played his part opening and closing the gate for you whenever he was around. Smashing lad!
Will definitely return, again and again and again and.

Small flat campsite, clean and modern facilities, goalpost and space to kick a football. 100 yards from friendly pub where we were made to feel welcome, with nice Indian restaurant attached. Martin & Sue were hugely welcoming. We were only staying one night but had a great time. Not right for people looking for a campsite with an extensive range of activities but perfect for us.

Great campsite.
I stayed here with my 3 children over our easter holidays and we had a great time
Facilities are completely adequate nice clean shower and toilet block. Area where I was able to access a sink to wash something by hand.
My children loved the huge field opposite our tent where they spent an awful lot of time playing football.
The site isn't far from lots of activities for days out all within an hour or so drive. We visited Jorvik, train museum, farming museum, Eden camp, goole swimming pool and Scarborough.
The site owners are helpful and friendly, we really couldn't have asked for anything more and would not hesitate to recommend the site.

Martin the owner met us on arrival, we found him very helpful. We had a good pitch under the trees near the field with cows grazing. Lovely quiet site. Very good bus service into York and we went on our scooter to Selby. What I didn't like was that the one shower was in the portacabin with the unisex toilet right next to it. For that reason I don't think I would go back again.

We camped here for a friends 50th Birthday celebration and there were 16 adults and 5 dogs in a total of 8 tents. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner Martin who was really friendly and showed us to our pitch and where to park the cars when we had unloaded. The facilities are a single portacabin but even though there were 16 of us it wasn't a problem in any of us having a shower it shouldn't be about time when your camping just chill out and see how the time develops. The site is very quiet and is in an ideal location for visits to Brid, Pocklington, etc. There is a massive playing field that's ideal for football, rounders, and any ball games of any sort. To summarize this is a cracking site, and one that we will be definitely be revisiting.

We stayed at this lovely little site as we wanted to see our friends in the next village, Bubwith. They own the Jug and Bottle off licence (make sure you visit - great shop selling all kinds of things including some excellent beers, wines and ciders) and this was the nearest site. We are so glad we did. It was very peaceful, even being next to an A-road (an advantage for us as we travelled around a lot) and we had an excellent stay. The owners were extremely friendly, helping us to position the caravan by hand, and very helpful when my car's brake lights stopped working, and Martin gave me the address, postcode and phone no. Of the local Ford garage even though I did not ask him for them. Superb customer service! Their son was brilliant as well, a credit to them both, regularly playing with our 3 kids in the adjoining play field, which has 2 goals set up in it.
There is a portacabin style toilet block which was always very clean, however there is only one shower, so it could be a wait if the site is busy.
There is a bus running every 2 hours into York from outside the campsite, but we did not use it; we did however use the Park and Ride facilities from the outskirts of York and these were very good. Loads to do in York: Chocolate Story, Jorvik Centre, Clifford's Tower, walking the city wall, National Rail Museum to name a few. We really enjoyed our days out in York.
We had a fantastic stay at this site, thanks for making it so enjoyable Sue and Martin, and next time we head North to York, we will definitely be staying again.

Excellent little campsite where you can enjoy a great family camping break. We stayed here for 4 nights over Easter. We were met by the owner on arrival after texting him our ETA. He was very friendly and kept the site and facilities very clean.
The separate ball game area is great for the kids to play cricket, football etc.
The walks off site are perfect for dog walking / cycling and running they are on a disused railway.
The shower and toilets are kept clean at all times there is only 1 shower however the site is only small so not a major issue.
Loved the views over the field.
Will be returning to this site.

Having had such a lovely time last year we decided to visit Fourways again for our first trip out.
We were met by the owner on arrival after texting him our ETA beforehand.
He showed us to our pitch and left us to set up.
The grass was well cut and the site was flat.
The facilities were spotlessly clean as always and we were blessed with some sunshine.
We enjoyed a trip to the coast and on returning back to the site picked up some treats from the Jug & Bottle at nearby Bubwith.
The site was quiet and we watched the sunset over the fields.
We parked under the oak trees and our children loved watching the squirrels.
Some good walks nearby for the dog and plenty of room for the children to run around and play ball games.
Their son was also very friendly and played football.
Thanks for a lovely weekend we will definitely be back again.
