Lovely very large flat grass certified site. Unisex toilet and shower kept very clean. Sue and Martin were very helpful giving us details of local walks etc. A family friendly site with lots of space for ball games in view of the caravan. My grandchildren enjoyed playing with Ben their son. Well positioned for a visit to York and nice villages close by to visit. Looking forward to visiting again.

Our family (two adults, one 4 year old and one 5 year old) spent 3 nights here.
Very friendly when I called to book, met us at the gate when we arrived and instantly won the kids over with an ice pop each.
Pitches are flat and grass was short. Toilets very clean and seemingly ample for the number of units (maximum of 10 I believe). Owners often seen and very friendly and helpful. The field is basically divided into two halves, one for the units and the other has a couple of football goals and plenty of space for the kids to run / bike around. This works brilliantly, the kids were constantly happy but always in sight and on one evening led to an impromptu dads versus kids football game which seemed to involve the whole camp site and owners, great fun.
We spent a day at York Maze (20 min drive) and another at Diggerland (< 1 hour drive). The local pub was welcoming and the (Indian) food was nice which you can eat in or take back to the tent – only a two minute walk.
The site is next to the road but night time noise is minimal, in fact the site was very peaceful for the whole of our stay. Only minor point is shower could do with increased water pressure.
If you want clean, relaxed and welcoming this is the place for you.

Nice little site with lovely people. Sue was very helpful and worked hard to keep things clean and tidy and was on hand regularly throughout the day to help or advise.
Facilities are clean and the wash up area good. The grass is in well kept, short condition, the entrance is easy and just off the road with a gate right into the field.
It has a nice area, away from the tents, with goal posts for ball games, and nice big central grass area for socialising and little 'uns.
The local, Black Swan, pub is very friendly and we enjoyed quiz night on Tuesday. not a fan of Indian food, but the people who tried it enjoyed it.
The next village has the White Swan, which does excellent food!
This is fairly new site, and I think it will become a very popular one! The only down side (though not a big problem) was the toilets are unisex (though there is one private ladies cubicle) which may make some people a bit uncomfortable. But I am sure this will be different in time, but all sites have to start somewhere, and this is a smashing little site already. And I am sure we will be back here!

A warm and enthusiastic welcome was given by Sue the campsite owner. Nothing was too much trouble for her and her husband Martin, not forgetting Ben their son who also was very friendly, and must give a small mention to Molly their dog too!
The facilities we kept extremely clean, nice touches with things like air fresheners and decent soap in the toilets. Only one shower though for both male & female, but still kept extremely clean.
Sue was very attentative, and was regularly walking chatting and making sure the camp site was kept clean, and when it was hot she even passed out ice pops to the kids!
Lovely walks to do and we really enjoyed the bike rides as there are plenty of safe places to go. The local pub is a must, complete with Indian restaurant inside; the food was really good and plenty of it. Further up the road in Bubworth, another excellent pub ‘The White Swan’ who also does excellent food. This village has the nearest shop & post office.
We took our grandson who is 9yrs old and he really enjoyed himself playing football especially as there are a couple of goals set up so this encouraged the children to mix and play together. We will be going back as we found this a very relaxing site ideal for family breaks away (with or without the grandson).

A lovely warm welcome was recieved from Sue on our arrival, she could not have been more helpful and polite. The site was lovely and quiet, the facilities were spotless, with Sue frequently visiting to check they kept to her high standards.
The pub/indian is 2 minutes away and very welcoming, the atmosphere was friendly and the food excellent. Some lovely walks nearby which our dogs loved. Scamp has fallen in love with Mollie so it will be a must to revisit to keep the romance alive.
Go prepared as the nearest shops are a short drive away.
All the very best to Sue and Martin with their new venture, we wish you every success.
Also to note that this should be listed on the gay friendly site following the lovely reception we received.
Above all, we had a good time and we will be back in the near future.
