A fab site we were given a nice flat pitch
Toilets were spotless 20p for a shower and plenty of time for your 20p!
Jane and Jude made us feel so at home, especially as my wife was in plaster with a broken leg nothing was to much trouble
Close to wimbourne and within walking distance a 24hr garage and at 7am till 9pm diner takeaway. Good fish n chips!
Will def go back. Good prices too.
The dish washing facilities were good again 20p for plenty of piping hot water! there is also a washing machine and dryer although both very slow and long winded not a fantastic site for kids as no play area Although ours played for hours in front of tent perhaps not for our 10's
One down side is poor facilities for disabled as its steps to both male and female toilets and showers.

Stayed here the weekend of Wimborne Folk Festival. Although there were a lot of units on site, the toilets & showers were always immaculate & never had to queue once!
Site owners are very friendly & helpful. Easy route into town. Useful garage / shop / cafe at bottom of site. Didn't make it to the pub (which is only 5 minutes walk away) but it was recommended. Guess we will just have to save that for a return visit.
For us the previously mentioned road noise from A31 & lack of play area was not a problem.
However we would have liked a dog walking area as although the road into the site is very quiet, it is not well lit. This is fine during the day but might be more of a problem at nightfall.
Other than that, this is a great little site & a very useful base to explore Wimborne & surrounding area.

We have just returned from a camping trip at Charris camp-site in Corfe Mullen. The site was recommended by friends and from the moment we got there we were greeted with a warm welcome and an invitation to a BBQ. The owners Jane and Jude were kind and helpful and couldn't do enough to help. The facilities were all well maintained and the toilet and shower block were spotless. There was never a queue. Other facilities include laundry and drier, electric hook up, small shop, recycling and dogs are welcome. This is probably the friendliest camp-site we have ever visited.

We stayed for a couple of nights at the height of season. The site was pretty full but not crowded. The pitches were closer together than we are used to and we had to have the motorhome on chocks due to the change in levels over the site.
The shower and toilet facilities were perfectly adequate and we never had to queue. They were spotlessly clean.
There were no play facilities for the children on the site although there was a play area and field within a short walk. There is also a short cut through to the restaurant on the main road which is handy.
We never made it to the pub although it had good reviews. There is plenty of information on hand at the site and a Yellow Pages for details of takeaways, restaurants etc.
The proprietors of the site could not do enough for us during our visit. They helped us with local information and directions as well.
The site has a security barrier which needed to be raised every time we left or arrived at the site. This is great for security and we never waited more than a minute to gain access, so was not a problem.
The site is very handy for Splashdown and Poole.

Beautiful weather, hot and sunny so bent a lot of pegs putting the tent up! Owners very welcoming and friendly, site nice and secluded with fences, trees and hedges so you don't feel as if you are on top of each other. Only down side is noise from adjacent A31.
Shop is a little sparsely stocked although it's a short walk to local garage for essentials and supermarkets are only a few miles away. We stayed for 4 nights. Showers and loos very clean, good recycling facilities and overall a good experience.

Stayed at this site at the end of August. Very friendly and welcoming site both from other residents and the staff. Many of the other vans were repeat visitors. We ended up buying a new caravan from the shop nearby. Having collected it from them we stored it for 2 weeks at Charris before stopping for a long weekend to collect it. All of our stays have been very friendly. The grounds are well kept and the toilet / shower block kept clean.
The shop is very basic but as mentioned below there is a petrol station supermarket 5 mins walk away (through the site short cut)
Road noise is noticeable on the A31 but we didn't find it too intrusive. Pub / restaurant at the end of the road does excellent food and real ale at a decent price.

We spent 8 days here, its perfect. Lovely surroundings and well laid out with shrubs / hedges breaking the site up giving it a cosy feel. We pitched our tent near apple trees which wasn't a problem as any fallen apples were collected daily. The toilets and shower block were spotlessly clean everytime we went in, there is only 2 showers in the 'ladies' but I never queued once and we were there over the bank holiday weekend, The showers cost 20p for 5 minutes. The owners Jude and Jane couldn't do enough and were always available, they hold a Barbeque on Saturdays evenings, weather permitting (bring your own food and drink) a nice ice breaker for newcomers, although they get a lot of regulars who return year after year. Corfe Mullen is a 'big spread out' village. The Lambs Green, the closest pub is about 5 minutes walk away serves nice food. There is an Indian Restaurant 'The Taj' and a Chinese takeaway 'Chinese Whispers' both worth a visit. The local chippy served lovely fish but the chips left a lot to be desired. The site was an ideal base for our travels, with Poole, Bournmouth, Weymouth, Swanage all within reach. Bovington Tank Museum was an eyeopener, really enjoyed looking round. From Weymouth you can catch the express ferry to Jersey or Guernsey for the day, but be warned, its a very long day, But it was worth it - Jersey is lovely.
As a camp site goes this has everything, we even came home with a bag of apples for me to make Apple Crumble !

I have to disagree with the negative comments made regarding this site. We were also there in May over the Bank Holiday period and have just returned from our second visit to Charris and on both occasions the facilities were exceptionally clean, cleaner than most commercial sites we have ever visited. They are not new but are definitely clean. The owners of this site go out of there way to make your stay a pleasure, nothing is to much trouble. You can hear the road in the background but soon adjust. I would recommend this site and hope that other users will not be influenced by the negative remarks made on earlier review.

We arrived at Charris on the 13th August to a very warm welcome from the owners, who then helped us to pitch up on the slightly sloping pitch, We got the impression that nothing was too much trouble and help was on hand if needed. The site is very pretty and the grass had been cut prior to us arriving. The site itself is set back from the main road and accessed via a country lane, although you can here the main road when on site this was not a real problem and didn't affect our holiday in anyway. It actually had it's good points as there is a garage with a really well stocked shop and a caravan spares shop which is 5 mins walk all accessed from the site through a locked/coded gate. There is a small shop on site and an information corner which is very informative. The toilet/shower block was very clean and bright. There was excellent recycling facilities. It is very reasonably priced and all in all it's an excellent site and We would recommend to all and We will definitely be visiting again in the future.

Booked for a week in may and the weather wasn't too bad (for a change) when we pulled on the site we thought what a pretty place it was and nicely located off the beaten track but not to far from the main road. We only ended up staying 2 nights due to the facilities, I may be being fussy but we have stayed in hundreds of sites over the years and I always expect cleanliness, dated facilities are acceptable as long as they are clean unfortunately the ones at this site were not. Also found the site shop very understocked, it would have been nice to get fresh bread and milk in the mornings but this wasn't available during our stay, all in all a lovely location but the facilities let it down, we wouldn't stay again, such a shame
