The site was wonderful but unfortunately has now been sold and no longer caters for holiday makers, it is being turned into a residential site. 😟😟😟👎👎👎 I have rated the site as it was but obviously that no longer applies!

Visited Charris April 2018 for a 3 week visit. We also stayed there for 3 weeks in 2017. The owners Sandra and Tony are 2 of the most hospitable, friendly and helpful people we have ever met as site owners. Nothing is too much trouble.
The site is first class and the shower facilities are outstanding. Spacious, efficient and spotless.
Tony and Sandra have camping experience themselves and clearly understand the standards that are required by today's holidaymakers, although the site is predominately designed for adults, we have seen families, you will not be disappointed.

This is a fantastic small compact site within easy reach of Poole and Wimborne. The owners Tony and Sandra are excellent hosts and are very much hands on by being present and available for a large part of the day. Pitches are level with some of the hardstandings being concrete. There are probably more seasonal pitches than available touring spaces but everyone on the site is very friendly.
I stayed for three nights before sailing to Jersey and one night on return. It took about 15-20 minutes to drive to the ferry terminal. The best decision I have made.
The toilets are clearly brand new and first class and kept spotless. There is also a laundry. The site is also kept immaculate. Security on the site is excellent with two barriers which would make theft of a unit impossible.
There is a bus stop about a seven minute walk to Poole and Wimborne. There is a Vintage pub near the bus stop which serves good food and real ales (dog friendly).
The site is fairly close to the A31 which can create traffic noise. This did not trouble us in an any way.

I have visited and stayed many enjoyable nights at Charris, I will be returning again this year!
The owners are a lovely helpful couple and nothing is too much trouble for them.
The pitches are nicely laid out and kept clean and in good condition.
Toilet block is a bit dated, but extremely clean, however I understand new toilets and showers are being built!
All in all a nice site close to Poole and many local attractions!

We arrived at Charris early in the morning in pouring rain and thunderstorms so wanted to pitch tent quickly.
The campsite is really geared around caravans and not very tent friendly as the ground was really stony and hard to put the tent pegs in and we ruined quite a few pegs in the process.
The site is in a lovely area but very near a busy and noisy main road which kept us awake for most of the night. Also you have to pay 20p for the showers, which is fair enough.
Wasn't really expecting to pay extra 20p plus for the washing up though - thought that was a bit cheeky. Jan the owner was very friendly and helpful.

Arrived late afternoon and received help and advice to settle quickly. Toilet block clean at all times showers good. Quiet site at this time of year and road noise not a problem.
Hubby had easy access through gate to get morning paper from garage. Well located for all nearby towns. We have family and friends living in various places in Dorset and this site is central for our visits.
We have just booked again for autumn and are looking forward to returning.

Really great welcome to a very friendly site. We are new to caravanning and we were shown to our pitch and offered assistance with levelling the van. We were able to order newspapers for our stay and although the shop is small it had the things we required at short notice.
The facilities were always clean and we did not have to wait for the showers. There is a fantastic park a short walk from the site and the children loved to walk up in the evening.
The site is in a great location for local attractions and Wimbourne is a lovely place to explore. The local Co-op was great for all our shopping and the pub at the end of the lane was very convenient and had good food.
We will definitely be coming back to stay at this small but perfectly formed site.

Stayed here last month.
Mixed weather so afraid did suffer from muddy site with awning groundsheet.
Toilets and showers clean and tidy and never a problem with a few for the number of vans on site.
Jud and jayne friendly and helpful.
Seems to be a lot of older/tired seasonal vans on site.
Has got storage area too.
Access difficult with bigger vans.
Not too good for dog walk/exercise- either the narrow un lit lane or over the track to the field. Unable to walk far from site along the main road. Did manage the garage and the caravan shop but road very busy.
Busy A31 runs along side the site- can hear the noise of the traffic from early morning to late evening.
Difficult access back into Poole across the main road and twice needed to go left out onto the main road as unable to get across.

Nicely situated site with the friendliest owners we have met.
The facilities are more than adequate and very clean. Though there is a chemical disposal there are not facilities for emptying waste water tanks on a motorhome. The pitch we had was very muddy and been covered with a tarpaulin so we couldn't really sit outside.
A short walk away was a garage (lowest diesel price in the area) with a good shop. Next door was a caravan store for all those items you had forgotten or broken. The units are pitched quite close together on grass though we had one of the two pitches with slabs. The slope was quite steep and the owners provided blocks to level our van.
Due to theft from the site the owners had put up height barriers which we had to have raised every time we went in or out. OK for cars but for us, though we had no complaints from the owners, it felt an imposition having to chase them up and ask to be let out. Very friendly site but the latter would stop us going back.
