The site was very clean and tidy, our pitch that we were given was very spacious and well maintained.
The facilities were immaculate and lovely hot showers

Absolutely fantastic weekend second visit and didn’t disappoint us.
Mick the owner is lovely and so sociable.
Facilities not open yet but didn’t cause a problem teenagers had a great time playing in the river.
Will definitely be back. Only scored low on the child friendliness as it’s on the river and toddlers need watching 24/7.

Mick at the site couldn't have been more helpful, phoned to make sure I was ok and on route, saved me a spot to protect my tent from the wind.
The site was immaculately clean and even though the toilet block was closed there was a facility for disposing of waste.
If I'm ever up that way again I'll definitely stay again.
All the best
Andy

This site is excellent for easy access with our rented - 1st time drivers- motorhome. Mick could not have been more helpful as were the other people on site.
All facilities were closed so only used water and chemical disposal but various constructions looked like there would have been other facilities outside of Covid 19.
BEWARE the mosquitos/midges are vicious and even bit us through out clothing despite all usual repellants!
Added bonus is a small secure area off dogs to be off lead

This site is next to the river Medan, each pitch has a veranda over the river. Mick the owner was continually disinfecting the taps and communal areas.
Canoes available, paddling in the river. We walked 17 miles over our three day stay. Very relaxing, toilets and wash up area closed due to Covid but it did not put us off. No ehu but we have solar.
We will be back again because it is fantastic value and the walking is great.
There is a bit of road noise but really only an issue in the morning as people go to work. The river is not that deep but fast flowing so maybe a concern for young children.
Well worth a visit.

One of my favourite campsites in the country. I can sit on a veranda over looking the river and just chill watching the movement of the river! I can go for a swim & try to canoe! Absolutely blissful!
Mick is a dedicated caretaker of the site and is often around if anything is needed
It’s tidy & clean & convid (un)friendly!
But Mick warned us about the rules before we booked!

A lovely well-run 5 van site, right by the river with seats and picnic tables for everyone to use. Each pitch has it’s own water tap and there are 2 toilets (one for men and one for women) dump points large enough for big motorhomes as well as secure gates. Mick, the owner was very pleasant and helpful, coming round a couple of times each day to make sure everything was OK.
It is only about 5 minutes off the A1 and easy to find. A bit of noise during the day from the road up in to the village, but quiet at night. There are swans on the river and apparently a family of otters, lots of wildlife and walks in the area. No pubs or shops in the vicinity so you need to come prepared.
At £9 per night it is very good value and we will certainly be using it again.

Been to riverside gardens a couple of times. Really nice site and owners. Basic facilities but handy for all the local attractions. Plan to return again soon as the site is only 140 miles away from me. Well done to the 'facilities manager' for keeping the site immaculate. X
