The owner of this campsite clearly takes pride in the place and was super helpful.
The facilities are kept beautifully clean and tidy, and the showers and loos are great.
We were really impressed with the recycling arrangements which clearly really do the job well.
The setting is beautiful, the pitches are spacious and very spaced out.
It was very peaceful and having spent a night there I can see why it is called a camping ‘retreat’. It did feel like a retreat from the world.

Beautiful, serene, back-to-nature camp-site, set next to an ancient and wonderful forest. Had an excellent time exploring the countryside. Jenny looked after us very well.
We came back refreshed and invigorated. Best showers we have ever found in any campsite. Kids loved it!

One of the best sites in England. So remote. So tranquil. And you are separated from other tents by lots of long grasses.
Showers are excellent. And the owner is so friendly. And price is excellent.
Outstanding!

The campsite is set in a huge field and there is only about 23 pitches. This means you get a big pitch, (we had 2 tents on ours), and a good distance away from any neighbours. There is a vast empty space in the middle of the site, with long grass and no pitches. Each pitch gets a fire pit to keep you warm in the evening. Logs and a packet of marshmallows £8. 50.
The facilities consist of 2 showers, and 4 wash basins. Plus 2 non flushing toilets! Which a gentleman has to sit on regardless of his requirements. There are no separate urinals. The facilities looked reasonably new and were clean. There were never any queues when I went.
Not a problem for me, but the facilities were quite a hike from our pitch. Might not be a good site if you can't walk very well, or need a toilet in a hurry.
If you want quiet and rural, I would recommend the site. We were 4 lads and it cost £15 each for 2 nights.

Stayed here for a couple of nights to get away from it all.
What a gem we found in the Kingsettle campsite.
Quiet site with large pitches, the meadow grass adds to the privacy and feeling of space, and if you are really lucky at dusk whilst sitting round the firepit, you may see barn owls hunting over the meadow.
Lovely walks on the Leyland trail and Macmillan way are within a short walk from the site.
The facilities were spotless, compostable toilets were clean and odour free.
Each pitch gets an individual bucket for recycling plus decompostable bag for general rubbish.
Jenny, the owner was so friendly, helpful and chatty, nothing was too much trouble.
When we visited this weekend, the site was full, 20 pitches, and yet it felt empty.
If you are looking for a site, to forget the troubles of life for a few days, you will not go wrong here.
Our only regret is, we have never visited before!
See you soon Jenny, we will be back!

Stopped here for a quick mid-week night away from the city.
Gorgeous quiet site, spacious pitches, all facilities spotlessly clean, and lovely, helpful owner in Jenny.
Fire packs for use with the fire pits well worth purchasing.

One of the best campsites we have stayed in. Spacious pitches with firepit area separated from other pitches with wild flower areas which were full of wildlife.
Composting toilets, clean showers and recycling actively encouraged.
Jenny the manager was lovely and really helpful.
