Outstanding quality big site with first class modern facilities. Good sized hard standings, well established trees and features, very good looking site. Excellent recycling facilities, impressive use of rainwater and solar in showerblock. Vast field with big playground for kids, medium sized dog field to release the hounds. Nowhere to really walk off road from the site however, 2 miles down to small village on estuary but both pubs there scruffy and limited parking. Local farm selling cider and Sainsburys and McDonalds 10 mins drive. Handy for Dartmouth which is really lovely, Paignton seaside town but not overly tacky. Not all beaches dog friendly but list available from site shop. First visit to this part of South coast and can't wait to go back. Overall a thoroughly peaceful enjoyable holiday

A warmer welcome would have been appreciated on arrival.
Entrance to site sloping, make sure handbrake works!
Nicely laid out site, facilities clean and warm!
Chip van visited us. Nice fish and chips.
Huge field for exercising dogs. Children's play area adjacent. Games room on site too.
TV good. Mobile = 02 good.
Nice walk to Stoke Gabriel from site. Cafes and pubs at end!
Bus stop outside site, make sure you have exact change!

Usual Caravan Club site everything spotless and perfectly manicured. Site is on a hill but pitches cleverly cut into the land so each one is level. Only needed minor adjustment with levelling blocks on our motorhome to get perfectly level.
Good place to explore local area especially Dartmouth, we got there by river on the ferry from Greenway (National Trust) Quay. Brixham to be frank was a little disapointing but still has local fishing boats landing daily.
We can recommend Beamers for some very good food. Wifi good at £5 for 5 hours but had some problems connecting which was probably down to my technophobia. Local roads are extremely narrow with some only just wide enough for a car with high hedges each side so don't follow satnav.
The recommended route into the campsite however is not too bad but has a fair few narrow points so if you are unlucky to come face to face with another vanner at a narrow point with no passing place one of you will have to back up!
Site staff excellent and very helpful.

Rule no 1, never use your sat nav to access this site, lucky enough I down loaded CC directions before I set off, keyed postcode into sat nav any way as a back up, my sat nav wanted me to go past sainsburys to the site, which would have put me stuck in hedgerows or on a bridge. Even the proper way is hairy & to be honest I am not looking forward to leaving next weekend as any any early arrivals to the site will have me possibly reversing a caravan up a hill to get out on to the main road,
On to the good points, pay for a serviced pitch, they are spot on the money. All grass pitches are severely sloping and I have never seen so many wheel chocks & bricks under jockey wheels, steadies etc etc.
Toilet blocks as always are spotless & the wardens on site are friendly,
Dog exercise area is nice & also a big field for kids to let off steam,
Great location only 5-10 mins drive from beaches,

We recently stayed here. The site is well kept and very clean. We were on a hard standing thank goodness, the grass pitches were very sloping. The wardens were brilliant, very friendly and helpful. A fish and chip van turns up on a Tuesday evening. The fish and chips were absolutely lovely. There is no morning papers but you can get them in the village.
The major down side for us was the narrow road to the site, not good at all as very large vehicles do use that road. Sainsburys is close but yet again another narrow road unless you do the longer route which meant getting stuck in road works for ages.
Even though the site and wardens get good marks we wouldn't go there again because of the roads.

Our family (Myself, My wife and our 6 year old and 22 month old daughters) stayed at Ramslade for the school halfterm.
I was a little unsure of what to expect when reading other reviews of this site but my concerns were unjustified.
What a fantastic site with clean facilities, excellent location and well kept.
The wardens were very friendly and always had time for a chat. Paddling Pool was great fun for the kids and the crabbing in the evening at the River Shack was fantastic. (If anyone can beat 119 crabs in 1 hour please let me know!)
Maybe another shower block is required if the site is full.

We have just returned from this site and found it to be large spacious and clean. Toilet blocks were excellent and the location was idyllic, just a mile from the lovely village of Stoke Gabriel, with its excellent crabbing for the kids.
There were some negatives though - there are two toilet blocks, although the site chose to open only one until it was 90% full, which meant a bit of a walk for those on the far side. When the site was full there were waits for all facilities including showers, washing up and toilets. The site advertises recycling although there are no facilities on the site - we were told this was because the wardens feel it was all being taken to landfill. The kids play area was off on a field to one side of the site - although very well equipped.
On the whole the site is nice and you should be easily satisfied with it - but please be aware of the drawbacks - it also felt a little soulless compared to other sites we have stayed at - but that didn't detract too much from our week long stay there.

Glad to read the more recent reviews as we thought the site was fantastic too, beautiful views (far side of site looks over rolling hills rather than other vans), heaps of space (large caravan, jeep, awning & space for table and 4 chairs), how much more space do you need, excellent shower/toilet block. Lots to see and do in the area (steam train/boat trip was great even in the pouring rain!)
We were there outside of the school holidays and know this can make a real difference. Were there for 3 nights and would go there again.

Please don't let the previous reviews put you off this site. We did think twice after reading it but glad we ignored it.
Very well maintained site and wardens were extremely pleasant and helpful. Useful high standard of CC facilities and ideally situated to explore the many resorts of Torbay, Brixham etc. Despite the wet weather we were able to make worthwhile and enjoyable visits to a different location each day, so there is plenty to see.
The site was full for the first few days but we were situated at the bottom end of the site on a flat hard standing pitch with plenty of room. We didn't see any pitches cramped too close together anywhere on the site grass or hard standing as had been previously mentioned. It pays to consider the reviews in general.
The only negative comment we would make concerns the very narrow road leading to the site. It's just a pity the council haven't created more lay-bys to help along this road particularly as it is quite busy with local and tourists' traffic. But take your time and it is not a problem.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate in returning.

I'll keep this brief and simply say this has to be one of the best sites I have visited.
There is little to fault this site and if I were to be at all critical the only thing I would say is it doesn't sell daily papers which I missed.
See, said there was little to fault it!
The park is in two halves I think we had the better side being in the main hard standings and I accept what has previously been said about the other area which appeared a little busier. It was also difficult for me to manoeuvre out of when I entered upon arrival by mistake.
Children were not a problem to us even though we have two under tens of our own. No excessive noise or problems. Our children now of an age which meant that we were happy for them to be out of sight at the play area or riding around, but the site was not too big that we didn't see them regularly.
Best bathroom facilities I have encountered without doubt. (Read my other reviews I am very fussy!)
Would recommend without hesitation for location, friendliness and cleanliness.
