Not much has changed in a year and nothing to add to the other excellent and accurate review other than to push the point about large rigs. I did notice that they had a sign up for planning permision for a larger entrance to the site and overnight parking area. We have a medium sized van and a Rover 75 and did a couple of laps looking for a pitch without a problem. We would go to this site again

The first to write a review of this site? Ooer, where do I start then? The good points first then, but dear readers, please read on past the good points.

The dog walk is HUGE and beautifully kept albeit that there is enough room below the entrance gate for your average dog to easily exit. So if you let them off their leads (everyone does), keep them away from the gate. That said, it's 'L' shaped and very nice indeed.
The kids play area is very nice with a fair few pieces for them to play on. Watch out for wasps though, this year there seems to be a lot about there. The wardens are friendly and seem quite helpful.

EHU's are the old type too that don't lock in, only push fit but this isn't really a problem, more an observation.

Only about 2-3 miles from Paignton and 6 from Torquay is a big plus point and Torquay is absolutely fabulous.

OK, SO that's the good points.

The site is about 1.2 miles along Stoke Road which is actually a lane for the most part. Very twisty and narrow in many places. The locals drive like nutters along it, so if you have your van on, be extra vigilant! If your GPS tells you to go along Yalberton Road, DON'T! It's WAY too narrow for a caravan.

The site iself is clean and tidy, but it's old. The toilet block isn't that good, again age is apparent. There is a paddling pool for the kids, but only anout 12 feet round and half a metre deep. No heating, so very cold. Security is good though, you have to get a key from the warden and must lock the gate behind you. This ensures that a child is admitted only with a supervising adult. The chemical waste points are actually household WC's. Not the usual wide ones on many CC sites.

There is a TV room that nobody uses but you need to see a warden to get the channel changed or the volume altered. The TV is locked behind a plexiglass fronted cupboard. The laundry room is OK, one front loader and one toploader which we were told was not much good. Twin dryers, but your 40p wil only get you 20 mins and that isn't enough to begin to dry your clothes. Expect queues there and have plenty of 20p coins at the ready.

Now the really bad points.

The site is very unlevel in nearly all areas and hardstanding pitches are small. We tow a twin axle van and with the car and van together, it's just over 42 feet long. Navigating this around Ramslade site is VERY difficult.

At the main office, when you arrive, you need to go around an island at the top of the site and it's extremely tight for an outfit of this length. I watched as a driver took part of the back corner of his caravan off as he tried to manoevre it past the dog walk to turn left. All roads on the site are narrower than any other site I have been on and the warden will actually tell you that there is one bend that you will not be able to get round!
