THIS SITE IS FANTASTIC! We have just returned from our 10th visit and love it so much that we even spent our honeymoon here! There are people still visiting here who have been doing so for over 20 years, which I think speaks volumes not only about the site, but also the very helpful owners. The site is very quiet, sheltered and flat and welcomes children and dogs. Yes the site is basic, but that is its charm! Information about the site/area is all available in the clearly signed reception area where you attend to make payment

The facilities are again basic, but there are only 24 pitches and are more than adequate. If you want a heated shower block, TV room, pool table etc, then go up the road and pay twice the amount! It is the small and personal nature of this site that makes it so wonderful and I cannot recommend it more highly! The location is ideal for walking into St Ives or Carbis Bay, avoiding stress of driving in this area. There is a bus stop and a pub selling good food at the end of the lane also – both within 2 min walk.

Possibly the nicest site we have ever stayed on. Just the right balance of space, peace, proximity to St. Ives and general ambience. The lady who owns the site and greeted us on arrival is absolutely charming, helpful and makes a great cup of tea! Facilities are clean and well kept for a site this size and there are shops near enough for most of your needs. Some great walks and countryside very close at hand and, if you're up to it, St. Ives and all it offers is only 35 minutes walk saving you the problem of parking there. This was our first visit, but we'll definitely be coming back.

This is a small friendly site that has been run by the same family for 50 years, it used to be a market garden growing violets and strawberries.

Everything is clean and tidy and quiet. There are no frills, although a full length mirror in the ladies washroom and mugs of tea delivered to our tent on arrival got top marks. Don't forget twenty pence pieces for the lovely hot showers. You can walk into St Ives over the fields in about 40 minutes.

Just the kind of site I like and would definitely go back to.

Lovely peaceful site. Facilities always clean. Owners on site and always very helpful with directions or any other local information needed, always willing to help if any problems arise with yourself or your equipment, nothing seems too much trouble. Ideally situated for St Ives, several scenic ways to walk there or to Carbis Bay. Not far to drive to Penzance or Lands End. Lots of good beaches nearby. We have been returning for the last 13 years and so do lots of others. I would highly recommend this site to anyone looking for a quiet friendly site.

We are going to Balnoon for our 8th stay next week 4/8/11. We cannot praise this site enough. The owners Judy & Nat are very friendly, helpful and informative. Like other campers we have had caravans for 21 years and this is the only site where you are greeted on arrival with cups of tea, a smile and a helping hand to manouvre your van into position. Yes there are only 2 showers (spotlessly clean) but we have never found this a problem as it is only a small site. Would recommend this site to anyone that is considering it. Roll on next week, cannot wait!

What a lovely campsite! We stayed for 1 night a couple of weeks ago and had a lovely time. The owners were very very helpful and friendly and looked after us throughout our stay. They even took time out of their busy day to give us lots of directions to various different places via footpaths etc.

The facilities were spotlessly clean and tidy. There really was a sense that they would do anything for you, anytime. The campsite is quite small but this added to its charm. It is also a beautiful 40 minute walk away from gorgeous St Ives which everyone must visit.

We'll be back again soon !

A nice clean site. Arriving in the pouring rain after a 5 hour drive, she greeted me with 'I suppose I'll have to put my coat on and show you where to pitch'.

Information on the campsite - where to buy milk, etc was only given on the very last day (after I had wasted my time driving miles, I realised that she sells provisions).

Pitch was expensive at £22. 50 per night, but there was no hot water or soap in the toilet block. Showers were 20p for 4 minutes, and toilet block lights were switched off after 11pm, leaving me to pee in the dark.

Only 2 showers and 1 washing up sink were provided for the entire site. I have stayed on basic sites before, but I have not paid these sorts of rates for them.

All would have been forgiven if the owner had been a bit more pleasant. I was grateful to my fellow campers who did give me a warm welcome, help putting up my tent in a gale, and a fantastic cup of tea!

Absolute fantastic site - rates are very good, dog friendly and very quiet.

Only a 2 mile walk to St Ives or a very cheap bus service or a £7 taxi cost if coming back after the bus service has finished.

Lovely couple who run the site who like to make sure everything is running smoothly for each and everyone.

Quiet basic - 2 showers and small toilet block but didn't have any issues with waiting in the time we spent there.

Nearest shop is a 5 minute drive / 10 minute walk away at a nearby campsite.

Already looking forward to booking next holiday in August!

Great campsite - owner is very friendly and helpful gave us daily weather updates and nothing was too much trouble ( even offered a cup of tea on arrival).

Toilets and showers were always clean. Showers are coin operated 20p for a few minutes but well worth it for constant hot water.

It is possible to walk to St. Ives (great beach) but we found it easier to drive - parking reasonable if you use the large car park and bus ride service from the leisure centre.

A few restaurants/pubs within walking distance.

We stayed for 10 nights and would definitely return.

Very busy little site, very friendly and helpful owner. Peaceful location, with basic facilities but very clean. Showers are 20p for 4 minutes. Lovely walk into St Ives, about 40 minutes, some on footpaths and some on narrow country lanes. Would highly recommend if you want somewhere a little out of St Ives and good value for money. Would definitely return if we were in the area again. Thanks!
