The site was lovely and quiet and the owners were very friendly. The facilities were very clean, the showers are coin operated, only 20p for a few minutes.

They are a dog friendly site, and there are some nice walks available outside the campsite.

The rates per night were very reasonable, in 2006 they were under £12 a night.

I would stay here again if in the area.

We stayed on this site in July during the heatwave. We have been camping since our daughter was a baby, she is now 22 and it was the first time we have ever been offered a cup of tea on arrival! Very personal and friendly service, a nice quiet site, well sheltered in a convenient position. The facilities were quite basic but very clean and well maintained. The showers were fine but there is no hot water in the toilet block, it has to be collected from the washing up area. This is a minor inconvenience and not a problem for us but may put some off. That said it is excellent value for money and so nice to find an uncommercialised site. Will definitely return when next in the area.

We found Balnoon by chance after driving around looking for a site after not liking the look of the one we'd earmarked near Penzance.

A small site, but very friendly owners and a good base for us to tour from (very close to St Ives. Penzance, St Just, Cape Cornwall, Hayle all close by).

£11 pn for two of us in a Bongo/Awning (no charge for under twos). As an earlier reviewer wrote, the showers are on the pokey side, but clean and perfectly useable - 20p for 4 mins. Ice packs frozen, all that was asked was a charity donation. There were hookups available if required.

It was nice and quiet when we were there - I think they request no noise 10.30pm to 7.30am.

A simple small site. Friendly owners.
Toilets and showers nice and clean.
Have to pay 10p for 3 min of hot water in the showers. Showers are a bit cramped for drying and changing afterwards.
BBQs allowed if you have them off the ground, bricks provided for disposable BBQs.
Doesn't have any restrictions on who can stay (for examples families only) unlike some other sites in the area. So was a mix of families, couples and small groups of friends. And everyone was quiet during the night
We enjoyed our stay despite gales and downpours on several nights.

I was recovering from a broken leg,and needed time and space to come to terms with my injury. I found this site just what I needed. Very quite and friendly. Small but very well run,all the ammenities close at hand,2 pubs that did very good food at very good prices and within walking distance. St Ives only 2 miles away.
