Small site, friendly owners, basic and quiet price fair will go again.

Although the owners of this very quite site were a real nice and friendly couple the site is like a throw back to the 1980s, time have moved on the site has not.

The pitches are far too close together.

The toilets although reasonably clean have no hot running water and there are only two toilets in the the ladies and two in the gents and only two showers to serve the complete site of 27 tents/caravans etc.

Transport is a must for the location as it is not on a main bus route and there is no shops for milk, bread etc within easy walking distance.

We have just returned from a one week stay at Balnoon. This is a great little site with a very friendly owner. The main problem with the site is the drainage of the pitches BUT I am guessing that many grass, flat sites will be experiencing the same problems at the moment given the amount of rainfall we've had recently. Judy (the owner) was very apologetic about the pitches and gave us tauplin to help to make the stay better. Hopefully with a bit of sunshine the field will dry out.

On the positives (and there are plenty) the site was very quiet so we had plenty of space for BBQ's and for kids to play. The toilets and showers were always clean. Judy is very helpful and always willing to give advice. Thanks to her we went to an amazing National Trust beach which was about 8 miles away from the site but we would never have found on our own.

St Ives is easy to get to from the site without the need to take your car into the town, you can walk all the way, walk to the bus stop over a field or drive to Lelant and get the train into the town.

The price for the pitch is amazing - we were there during peak holiday time and paid less than £200 for the week. Can't complain about a bit of water on the pitch for that price!

We would definitely recommend the site although if you have a large caravan, just make sure you are a confident driver as the entrance into the site is very tight.

What a brill little site. Loved every minute of it. The owner couldn't do enough for us. Very friendly. The site itself had everything you wanted. Lovely clean toilets. Nice hot shower which costs 20p for 3 minutes. The electric was 16 amp which never kicked out no matter how much you had going at once. There's a nice walk down to st Ives which takes about 40 mins. We went into polmanter clubhouse if you fancy a drink. All in all a great holiday

We booked to stay at this site for a week and ended up staying two! What more can I say?!

The site is in a lovely peaceful setting but within easy distance to the most fantastic places. There are pubs within walking distance and St Ives within a 40 minute walk across country, but very pleasant.

On arrival we were greeted and shown our pitch; which was spacious with enough space for our caravan, awning and car. We were then brought a lovely cup of tea after a long journey from the Midlands. Our neighbouring tents, caravans and motorhomes were occupied with very friendly people from all over the country and afar.

Although we didn't use them, the toilets, showers and washing up facilities were spotless. The owner has very high standards which she keeps to meticulously.

We will definitely be visiting again and would recommend the site to anyone that is looking for a peaceful, relaxing site with a warm friendly atmosphere.

Just back from our 10th stay at Balnoon, love it more each year! Toilets and showers spotless, constant hot water for dish washing and room for ironing and hair drying. This site is beautifully kept and nothing is too much trouble for the owners. The site is very quiet and safe. So close to St Ives and Carbis Bay, both with gorgeous beaches. Would not consider staying anywhere else when in SW Cornwall. Will be back again next year.

Beautiful camp site with nice size pitches and electric hook ups.

The owner is a lovely lady and upon arrival made us a much welcome cup of tea whilst we pitched the tent.

Showers and toilets cleaned everyday and the owner came round every morning and night to see everything is okay.

Would recommend this site to anyone wanting peace and quiet whilst being close to St Ives and Penzance.

The only thing that would have made this absolutely perfect would have been a shower for disabled as the ones they have are very small and I have difficulty with them.

Will go again.

What a beautiful little site. The owner is very warm and welcoming and took time to show me around this small but perfectly formed site. Everything is just as it should be. The toilets and showers (20p for 3 mins) are spotlessly clean and look recently painted and there is plenty of hot water for washing up.

The site itself is very attractive with lots of spring flowers, level and sheltered and easy to find. There are hookups and a freezer for ice packs but I didn't use either. For me, the location was perfect - very peaceful and surrounded by beautiful countryside and a very pleasant 40min walk into St. Ives across fields. There's an houly bus into St. Ives from Halestown, which is a 10 minute walk from the site, so no need to drive there and pay the extortionate parking fees!

Thanks for the lovely chats and making me feel so welcome. I'll definitely be back.

Made to feel very welcome when I arrived at the site. First of all Judy made sure I was happy where I was to pitch my tent, then went off to make me a cuppa has I had had a 5 hour journey.

The site is very well kept and clean only 2 main fields for visitors. Divided by a small bank,

2 toilets for the ladies and 2 for the men? maybe I didn't check them out? and 2 showers all very clean. 1 sink for washing pots. Plus all the other usual facilities.

It was very easy to find and well signposted from the main road. As I was camping for the 1st time for many years and a female on my own I was made to feel very safe.

I would definitely use this site again and hopefully will be going there again.

If you want to leave your car at the site and walk into St Ives it is very easy and takes about 45 mins, but it is a bit of a up hill slog going back, but the fantastic views make up for it. There was nothing I could find fault with.

Just want to echo what everyone else has said about this site. It is what it is, a quiet site not trying to be anything it isn't. Friendly and clean and cheap site fees.

A quality site which reminded me of my childhood holidays with my parents. Basic yes but that is the charm which sadly some parks lack these days.

Owners are friendly and helpful and whilst we were on site there were many other campers who had been to the site before so it does have a loyal following.

Would like to go back next year.
