What an absolute smasher of a site! Perfectly positioned just off the A1, close to the town of Alnwick, easy reach of many areas of interest such as the NE coastline, various castles, interesting towns etc. Not far from Newcastle to the South and the Scottish borders to the North.
Immediately near the site, were various supermarkets, 2 petrol stations, a Mc. Donalds, and next door to M&S food, a fabulous delicatessen called Turnbulls, all these within 2 minutes.
The site warden 'Sylvia' could not have been more helpful. Alnwick is a very friendly town, plenty of takeaway type places, (pubs not open for indoor food at the time of writing) and of course, Barter Books, one of the biggest secondhand bookshops in the UK.
The weather was a bit cold, (freezing actually!) during our stay, but did not dampen our enthusiasm for the site, we would definitely visit again.
We cannot comment on the pub within walking distance, as for some reason, despite the outside room it has, it had chosen to stay closed during our stay. At £15 per night including hook up, we cannot fault this little gem.
One minor criticism, once night has fallen, there is next to no lighting on the site, not a huge problem as the site is small, but could certainly be better. There is nothing for children on this site, hence the mark given.

Lovely level site within easy walking distance of pub and supermarket. 25 minute walk approx. into Alnwick.
Nice views and close to coast.
All hardstanding pitches with EHU. Although close to A1 junction it was very peaceful.
Will definitely use again.

What can we say, second visit this year, and just as good as ever, clean, tidy, peaceful.
The site is only 5 mins away from the great town of Alnwick where there is plenty to do.
The warden Sylvia could not be more helpful.

Large flat'ish pitches with EHU and hard standing. One ramp was used. No toilet or showers. The FW, WW, and CWD can all be found at the entrance to the site.
The A1 can be heard but only slightly. Dog walking around the edge of the site is good, well mowed, and flat, easy to poop scoop. For the more athletic type, there is a public foot path that leads to a wooded area.
Close to a pub, garage with spar and a little further walk gets you to a small retail park.
The walk into Alnwick is approximately 25 mins where you will find plenty of dog friendly pubs.

I can say the site is as good as previous reviews have stated with wide gravel hardstandings and 16 amp electric, quiet and good views. The walk into Alnwick is approximately 25 mins where you will find plenty of dog friendly pubs selling real ale and good food, the White Swan Hotel also allows dogs into the the bar area.
The pub/hotel nearest the campsite The Hogs Head, only allows dogs in the bedrooms if you are staying there and not in the bars. Plenty of supermarkets and petrol stations nearby.

Great customer service from site owner and the site warden. Lovely large flat pitches with EHU and hard standing. Close to garage, pub and McDonalds.
Narrow lane into site entrance. Some slight road noise and greyhound kennels further up the lane but a hidden gem of a site. Amble harbour worth a visit.
The town of Alnwick had a Sat urday market and good parking up by the driving test center. A short walk down the alley and we were in the town center.
The castle was expensive so get combined tickets for both garden and castle.

Got to say this is a gem of a site and Andrew the site owner is always around to help,
Walking to local pub just down the road is about 15 minutes and very good food, also close to fuel and good shop.
Just to say we will be back and thank you to Andrew.
