We stayed here last year on Andrew Bell's camp site with good views, hard Access road and HARDSTANDINGS which are ideal for our 24ft Motor Home. Electric hook up and water point at the top of site so for motor homes who do not want to kove to fill up with water get pitch cc1 or cc2. The grass is good and kept well cut.
Alnwick town centre is 1. 5 miles away. Night fees here were £12 in july 2016 and the same last year so may rise?? A highly recommended site as a touring base.
We wish all visitors who take up our recommendation a happy time here.

A very nice CL which is easy to find from the A1 and has very good access, apart from a few potholes on a short stretch of the approach road. You go in to the site from the approach road one way and out another. The A1 can be heard as a hum in the distance but you soon get used to it.
The owner is a very pleasant man and takes great pride in his site; the grass is kept extra short and is picked up. It's not very well drained, a bit of paving from the track to the bins and CWD would be a good idea. More bins would be useful too. Each pitch is hardstanding with plenty of width and space in between.
It's easy to get to everywhere, Alnwick itself of course, the coast, Chillingham wild white cattle (make sure you arrive in time for the trips to see them, on the hour from 10am, and take the second turn, not the first to the castle).
There is a Saturday morning car boot sale at Amble harbour, and a Sunday morning market. The nearest supermarket is Sainsbury's, straight across at the A1 roundabout. Fuel and a small shop are almost next door, also a large pug called the Hogshead, which we didn't try.
The price for this year is a very reasonable 12 pounds per night.
