Had an enjoyable weekend here recently. I would say it is a good value for money, small, family-campsite. We didn't need EHU, so could pitch anywhere there wasn't a EHU point - although the camping field is on a slope, it wasn't hard to find a fairly level spot.

There seemed to be quite a few EHUs; some in the middle of the field, some round the edges. We were near the toilets, which didn't look much from the outside, but inside the facilities were quite good and looked recently refurbished.

There is one very large shower in the ladies, but I wondered if this could be to allow for disabled use as I did see a girl in a wheelchair in the clubhouse.

Our kids spent most of their time in the playground, they also enjoyed the kids' club on the saturday afternoon and came back with sweets they had won. We had a meal in the clubhouse/pub - simple food, but good portions and it hit the spot. There was bingo, and a disco in the evenings, which we could hear in the tent, but from 11pm everything stops and it was very quiet at night.

If you pitch your tent right at the bottom of the field, away from the playgroud, it would be even quieter. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome.

I would agree though with what others have said, that the signs are a bit heavy-handed. There are some woods at the bottom of the site for older kids to explore; there is a right-of-way path running through them, but it doesn't seem to go anywhere.

Fabulous site. We visited with our family of 3 children and 2 other families, and had a marvellous time. The children were happy with the pool and the park and all adults were comfortable camping in a beautiful area with lots of space and privacy.

Fully recommended to anyone who wants to relax with friends and family. Clubhouse was good and staff were very friendly.

The amusements area for the children entertained them in the evening and it was good to have somewhere to go if you needed a break from the tents!

First timer: Was a bit worried about our first outing but as soon as we arrived I was made to feel very welcome by the lady at the counter. She was very relaxed and made me feel nothing was a problem. She let me know in her opinion where was best to pitch so I went there. Looking at other sites they seemed as taking 2 vehicles and 1 being a van was a massive no no. But this was not a problem either.

I was then informed about what was going on in the clubhouse, which was also friendly. We realised we turned up without any cutlery and where immediately lent some. My particularly picky wife was impressed with the facilities in the shower block and toilets which she found very clean. We ate in the restaurant on the 2nd night and the food was very edible, other campers were very nice as well.

Overall I would find it very hard to criticise but if I had to I would say the amount of 'do not' signs make it feel over strict even though it isn't.

We picked this site as we decided at the last minute that we wanted to camp over the August bank holiday weekend and after a lot of searching through sites covering the south of England, and many phone calls to check availability, this site had vacancies (no elec hook up left though), and the cost was very reasonable! £22 per night for 4 adults and 3 children - apparently they go on the size of the tent and not the amount of people that are camping!

When we arrived, after travelling through some gorgeous East Sussex countryside, we arrived at Lordines Court. Immediate impressions lovely,( yes, there are signs that say Do's and Don'ts, like 'No ball games, large groups, late night music' etc etc -but this is a CAMP SITE, and in reality, most campers might want to play ball, or music, so we ignored this!) On booking in with the reception staff (who I got the impression were actually the owners?? - not sure didn't actually ask!), we were told to find the tent field and park where there wasn't electric hook up, which was actually in the middle of the field. The field was on quite a steep incline, and the fact that we arrived on a lovely sunny day but following some really heavy rain, our car was struggling to drive on the field. We set up but found that as our tent was on a hill, when eating, the food slid on the table, and sleeping wasn't too pleasant! - Finding my children on the floor of the tent in the morning!

The shower/ toilet blocks were sufficient, and mostly fully stocked of toilet paper (other than 1 late night visit, which we had to go to the men's to steal some toilet paper) and after discussions with the men, we realised that the women only had 2 showers, and the men's had 6!

The showers were always warm, and powerful.

One of the Lady's shower cubicals was very large, and I think that could have quite easily been converted to another 2 extra? It would also have been a good idea to have a bench at the end so that it makes changing a bit easier.

The club house was lovely, and the staff very very friendly. There was a selection of entertainment during the afternoon (quiz's, and children's clubs) and the evening - (Saturday - live band, Sunday - Disco) etc etc.

We booked Sunday lunch, which was betwen 2-4, and pre-ordered the meat we wanted, so when we turned up at about 3.45pm (after a visit to Bodium Castle) our food was ready for us. The portion sizes were very large, and although they had to re-heat our food as didn't know what time we were coming, the meat was lovely, and we were all quite happy.

Overall, we were pleased with this site, although the positioning on the slope would put us off with coming here again.

We have very mixed feelings about this site. The staff try hard, with an uphill struggle, and they were lovely. There is no internet booking, or email contact with the site. There is no internet access for campers either

We were shown a pitch for our caravan - so covered in rabbit holes we had difficulty putting our door steps in a safe place. Very near the next caravan / awning. Very weedy, if we had an awning we would have had to weed the site. Good hook-up and water.

Shower blocks/toilets outdated, smelly. Laundry room/machines dirty.

Expensive, everything we mentioned when booking, was just more money.

There were many [mainly unnecessary] notices. The sight that greets you as you approach reception is rubbish bins [lovely].

Me and my family have just returned from a 2 day break at this campsite. We booked this particular site as we didn't want to travel too far and we wanted a pool for the kids. It was fantastic.

We received a warm welcome and was able to choose where we pitched our tent. We were one of about 4 other tents in the massive field so we had plenty of choice and the toilets were only a short walk away. We found the mens showers were better than the womens so I (female) chose to shower in the mens. All toilets and showers were very clean and had hand soap.

The pool was the best part of the campsite, I'd say middle size and very clean. Kids loved it.

The playground could do with a little updating, but kids not fussed.

The little shop has all amenities i.E. Bread, milk,ice-creams etc, but was closed all afternoon on the sunday.

We didn't eat at the restaurant but we noticed it was reasonably priced. The entertainment on Saturday night was disco, but after a long day we decided to give it a miss.

Over all a fantastic peaceful site. Will be returning again for another short break away in the future.

On arrival the staff seemed very friendly but very disorganised. The camp site was very cramped if we had put our awning up it would have practically met the caravan next to us. The swimming pool wasn't filled up till the Sunday (2 Days late). On shower and toilet block there was a sign that it was going to be refurbished, (bit late for the start of the season) Considering we paid tip top prices for a not so tip top site

Visited this site on a wet and cold weekend but the warm welcome we received set us in good spirits. We were given a good choice of pitches and we found the toilets and showers in the main camping area in a very good and well kept condition, it is a little annoying that there is no soap or hand drying facilities but that really is my only grumble.

We will be returning to this site with friends, well worth a visit

As a family of three we stayed in our tourer and were pleasantly surprised to find the pitch was serviced with water/ drainage and electricity.

A large site which used to be a hop farm it has multiple uses - permanent residents, seasonal statics, tourers and tents. There are rules as other reviewers have pointed out but it makes sense when you read them. No dogs or food and drink near the pool - if anything got in the water it would have to shut for a week so fair enough I say.

The staff on the site couldn't have been more helpful or friendly, our 12 yr old soon made friends and would disappear to explore with no concern for his safety, well back from a quiet country road.

Good location near Bodium Castle/ Hastings and the A21 for everywhere. Toilet block cleaned every morning, lack of soap and towels for hand washing but after numerous disappearances the site gave up putting them in, I was informed. Small club house friendly and relaxed

Have visited this site on a couple of occasions over the yrs, worth bearing in mind is that it is on a very steep slope , although after many years some improvements have been made. The cleanliness of toilets still leaves a bit to be desired, often at weekends and particularly bank holidays can be a bit noisy at times usually weekends.
The toilets were left unclean and rubbish left to over flow and has become a bit pricey. That said it is close to Bodiam Castle , the Steam railway and Battle Abbey
