Convenient stopover, well organised site with basic facilities.
We were travelling back from Scotland, and this site is only a few miles from the M6. ]
We were made very welcome by Corinne. The campsite is just a field with small outhouses for a loo and shower, but it was all we needed and was quiet and picturesque.
We used the electric hook up which was handy, but needed a long lead to reach the tent.
We paid by bank transfer, or could have paid cash.

This is a lovely small site with 13 pitches on grass, all of which appeared to have EHU. The facilities are basic - one toilet, one shower, and one outside washing up area with cold water only, plus usual recycling point too.
The shower is a pay as you go thing. , but is very roomy so fitted both of us in and was a quid well spent. The toilet is again very roomy, and both facilities were spotless and frequently cleaned. Plenty of luxury loo roll too!
Shap is 5 minutes drive away, the M6 is 10 minutes drive away, so accessible, but also you are 15 minutes from Haweswater and some really great scenery and good walking.
The field was well kept, well drained, and mostly level enough for our tent, and is in a delightful location.
We will revisit - we liked it a lot.

Beautiful location, very good social distancing and just an all round lovely experience.
Toilet and shower facilities where spotless and the stay was a very reasonable price.
Thank you both for a lovely stay, would love to stay again one day.

The site is in a lovely location set on a ridge with distant views. The pitches are well spaced and the central area of the square field is kept free, adding to the feeling of space.
The toilet and separate shower look as if they are in a ramshackle stone building but actually they are beautifully laid out and very clean. The owners were also very helpful and attentive.
Nothing not to like.

Lovely little campsite, not far from Shap village and close to the coast to coast walk. Nice scenic area. We only spent one night here.
Reasonable flat grass pitches. EHU. One toilet, one shower and a washing up area. There is a very popular award winning chip shop in Shap. Nice walks in the area.
Just one problem we had was that the toilet and shower were closed the following day from 8am til 6pm, so we had no morning facilities. We’ve never chosen to camp without facilities, but luckily have a toilet. On enquiring a day or so later, apparently the toilets have to be cleaned 6 times per day per covid guidelines, and there was no one available to do this, hence the rather inconvenient closure. Apparently we slipped through the net of being informed at the time of booking. The Campsite have apologised and given a full refund. Just better to check before booking, if it’s important to you.

This is a great little campsite! It's facilities are simple but well maintained. There's a coin operated shower and separate single toilet - both of which are kept nice and clean.
There's a basic outdoor sink for washing up, single standpipe and chemical toilet disposal. The site allows fire pits and also hires them for a very reasonable fee. The owners are great - very attentive and helpful.
There aren't any specific facilities for kids so you'll need to make your own entertainment but that's part of the charm.
The site is also very well priced. Good food is close at hand with several pubs and a great chip shop - although you'll need to pop in the car to reach them as they are a little too far to walk.
Excellent.

Lovely quiet location yet so close to the M6.
Great for dog walks and very good access the the quieter parts of the Lake District.
Will definitely come again.

Stayed for two nights and will definitely visit again.
Site was quiet and peaceful and the grass was well maintained. The toilet facilities were spotless.
The owners were very friendly and made you feel very welcome, as if nothing was too much trouble. Fire pits and wood were provided for a small charge which is always a bonus.
Only downside for us was the weather on the second day. Nothing we could do about that. Part of the joys of camping.
Well worth a visit.
