Been to this site many times over the last five years, new management have recently taken over and there have been lots of changes. A new fence has been put up to keep you safe from the crumbling cliff edge, the pitches have been been repositioned giving some pitches more space, the groundworks have also been given a spring clean. The toilet/showers are now much cleaner.
I can see that this site is going to keep on improving, I suggest anyone who has previously been put off gives this site another try

Area for tents & caravans is in a dense wooded area with very little sun coming in. There are no proper pitches, it is just pitch where you can between the roots on the ground and the trees and low branches - not ideal for caravans or motorhomes. Very dusty and dirty as there isn't any grass just sand, leaves, branches. Car & caravan gets filthy with dust and sap. There is an area which we were told was called 'The Bowl' where they allow groups to stay and basically do want they want! Quite a walk to the toilets - the ladies are ok just about but my husband said the men's was filthy and smelly. Looks over the NUDIST beach and only a short walk to the beach which is quiet & clean. States clearly No Fires but owners obviously turn a blind eye to this as one of our neighbours would collect a pile of branches, twigs & sticks to burn into the early hours - so the cracking of burning sticks can sound quite loud into the night. Had another party of people who played loud music and laughed & shouted until at least 3.30 when I finally put tissue in my ears & went to sleep. They ignored two other peoples request to keep quiet. Generally felt that the tents & tourers were dumped at the bottom of the site and basically just left to get on with it! No play area for kids but there are some homemade swings hanging from branches & it is a good area for kids to explore. Would recommend this site if you want to get back to basics. Nice pub at the entrance of the site if you want to get back to civilisation!

Have just come back from Azure seas caravan park/ campsite,we had a long weekend there mid Aug.
I was a bit wary because I had in tow 3 teenagers, 13, 16, 17! hmmm I hear you say. Very brave or completely bonkers!, I was unsure how the kids would handle it with it being so quiet, and no night life, however I was pleasantly surprised at the pub next to the site, who open armed let us take the kids in, they also had a live band, who were fantastic, the landlady sat chatting with us, fab pub.
The site itself is very quiet, the loos n showers are ok, got bit sick of having to hold button in on showers to keep water on, and I was well prepared for quite a trek back to campsite, however its not to bad a trek, 4 mins.
The site itself is situated in a beautiful location, almost like the south of France, really tall pine trees and ferns, and going to sleep listening to the beach made a blissful difference to going to sleep listening to sirens, traffic and planes. Was beautiful and scenery lovely, Me and THE KIDS are all happy to return here again next year.

Having spent a week here I was very disappointed. I arrived here Saturday morning and once shown to my pitch was left to own devices with no welcome pack. The pitch was under very dense trees, on uneven ground and was very depressing. No sun at all. The toilets/showers were dirty, full of cobwebs, spiders and even snails. Out of all the ladies toilets only 2 had toilet seats and most of them you had trouble to lock them. The sinks were dirty and cracked. The showers were so hot sometimes you couldn't get under them. The lighting on the site was very poor. Especially if you wanted to get up in the night to go to the toilet it was very creepy. Also it was a long walk to them about 0.1 - 0.2miles.

Just returned from a weeks holiday to this site today toilets clean and the showers hot, site clean and quite had pitch overlooking the sea and suprised to see a NUDIST beach below, which we were told by one of our fellow campers will not be there after this season. After the initial novelty of being in the woods surrounded by rabbits squirrels and the odd fallow dear spotted just before the touring site we found it a little depressing not being able to sit in the sun after a days walking. Our pitch only saw the sun for approx 2 hours a day in the morning many pitches didn't see any at all. The trees are very dense dropping tree sap pine cones and plenty of bird poo all over the car and our unit we took the awning down half way through the week because of this. Tv reception poor and phone reception even worse
The pub next to the site is large clean has two pool tables and nice food. Walked in to Lowestoft along road and seafront this took about 45 mins at steady pace. Would only recommend site if people don't mind the above mentioned flaws

I was a little sceptical what to expect, having never ventured over to our East coast before, but having completed the other cardinal points, Lowestoft had to be done!
A quick search on this site heralded Azure Seas as an ideal campsite, and thanks to the tip off regarding cliff top pitches! It's a lovely site, nicely located, and convenient for both Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. The beach is lovely!
The facilities are a little outdated in comparison with a lot of modern or refurbished sites, and the toilet block could be updated. Also something a little closer to the tents? I'm sure most of the static caravans in the midst of which the block is located have their own wash facilities?
It's a nice family site, and although I only stayed a couple of nights, fell in love with the area.
I only had one complaint, not through the fault of the site management, I ended up pitched next to a 'Moron's Convention'.I.E. A group of young campers that came to life around midnight and overestimated the noise cancelling properties of tent fabric! It would be so nice if such people could be a little more considerate for their early rising neighbours!
Other than that, a good site, if a little overpriced.

Very interesting little site, in that it wasn't just a blank field, but a little wooded area where you find you little hideaway spot in the trees to pitch up. It creates a great atmosphere but we soon realised that we missed having grass as soil and mud was getting trampled into the tent and leaves covered the roof. You sit ontop of a cliff overlooking a secluded stone beech (but watch out, part of it is a nudest beech at some point in the year). The toilet facilities are clean and modern and their is a pub next door if you can't be bothered to cook. Take a short walk through the woods, down to the beach where we had BBQ. On the tent sites, there is one spot separated from the other pitches for party people whereby you can have a camp fire. If you are looking for a quiet night, stay away from that side of the woods, as it can get pretty rowdy with drunken teenagers.
There is little room for ball games for children but the beach is right there. Definitely worth a visit, not bad price either. Pleasurewood Hills is literally down the road and a trip to yarmouth sea front isn't far at all, if you wanted more entertainment, e.G. Funfair, sealife centre, pier.

Arrived at site with good expectations from reading reviews on this site. The site is located in a great position overlooking the sea in a wooded area. Unfortunately the site did not live up to our expectations! If you have a motorhome like we have, some of the tree branches are very low which makes it difficult to manoeuvre around and will scuff the bodywork. Also beware of 1000's of bugs which seem to get everywhere and make eating outside very unpleasant. The site also can get very muddy if it rains, so you need sensible shoes or wellies when walking about. The toilet block is .2 of a mile away and quite a hike if you are desperate, and when you finally get there you will find that they are filthy dirty with no toilet rolls most of the time, so take one with you just in case! In all, the site is in a lovely position but let down by the general lack of upkeep which is a shame as this site could be so much better with some investment by the owners.

We have just come back from our weekend at the Azure Seas Caravan Park. I chose this site mainly because of its proximity to the beach and was not disappointed. When phoning on Friday to reconfirm I was told that there had been a cancellation and that I had a choice between the 2 clifftop pitches 15 and 16. We had an absolutely beautiful view over the sea and the fishing is great too (caught some nice seabass).
The site was fairly empty on Friday but because the pitches are set quite apart you have plenty of space (and we have a big 6 person frame tent).
As mentioned in other reviews the toilet blocks are a little bit further away but not a major problem. I found the toilet / shower block clean and spacious.
Definitely a site to remember and not overpriced.

Great site, especially for kids. In our party there were 5 adults and 5 children spread across a motorhome, caravan and tent. The children were aged 10 - 14 and every one had a great time. From the rope swing in the dell to the direct beach access, this site is fabulous for all ages. The site is wooded, has views over the sea, is quiet at night, has rabbits running around and has a pub just outside the gates with entertainment on some evenings (far enough away from the tourer end not to be a nuisance). The site is also within walking distance of Pleasurewood Hills theme park I believe, although we didn't go there as our children had a brilliant time with each other on the site, along with many other children who joined in. Apart from the sound of the sea, the only other noises were the occasional car going past on the minor road outside the site and the sound of children from 3 years old upwards enjoying themselves. One of the kids asked when we were going to return after just one night and another preferred it to his all time favourite site. Praise enough I think! The toilets and showers were cleaned every morning and the water was always hot. Electricity may not be available on all pitches (you'd have to ask the site) but our party all had it. The site itself was very clean and none of the units we took had a problem with the pitches. The friendly and relaxed staff patrolled the site a couple of times per day to keep an eye on things but were unobtrusive. The pitches are fairly random but this only adds to the character of the place. Go there, you won't be disappointed.
