Fabulous site, very well maintained, beautiful surroundings,
Not our first stay, but can't express enough on how quaint this site is,
Lovely, tidy and clean site, Facilities are too,
Welcome basket with homemade Dorset apple cake,
Lovely little gem of a site, beautiful views of Colmers Hill and surrounding countryside,
Short walk to the local pub Illchester Arms in Symondsbury, welcoming open fire after a long walk,
Symondsbury itself is worth a visit as it has a lovely cafe and courtyard of local produce,
Will be back next month,
Nic and Adam always around if required and very friendly and helpful

Excellent site, very efficient from booking, clear instructions e-mailed regarding arrival. Met Nic on the afternoon of our arrival so friendly and welcoming
Lovely pitches, two shower, toilet and sink rooms which were immaculate
Metered electric which cost about £3. 00 per day due to the high cost of electric at the moment
Only down side is the road noise but it did not spoil our stay
Will definitely be using again

This is the second time I have been, 4 years apart. It is good to see how much more professional the site has now become.
If you read other reviews you will get a feel of the site. But to bemoan the likes of washing up facilities is harsh.
It is a small site and caters for units that all have their own facilities.
Yes the electric meter eats money and it could make for an expensive stay other than the summer.
The owners are lovely, the location is ideal, the pub is great and the sheep are friendly.

Agree with JDTD and Syldow, but unfortunately we have deducted points for a few niggles, which are possibly our own fault.
I had booked 2 pitches for ourselves and my sister in law, but although we didn't specify to be together we made the presumption that with one person booking 2 pitches we might be next to each other, this was not the case.
The other niggle was no washing up area, again something we hadn't noticed was absent when reading site details.
We had no trouble finding the site, excellent directions had been sent to us.
Yes, the road could be heard but didn't disturb us.

Booked site early in year ? March, on recommendation. Pitches are generous and face Colmer Hill. 2 unisex shower and toilet, with 50p charge for shower. These were kept clean.
Disappointed with the information shed, where you could collect the welcome pack. Most of the info was about places to eat - I was hoping to find leaflets on local tourist attractions and walking guides.
I did mention walking guides to the owner later, and she pointed out that a leaflet was pinned on the wall. I wanted the guide to take with me so I could refer to it.
Unfortunately the electric was on meter, of which I was not aware of when I booked. If I had been aware I would not have made the booking. Since COVID we don’t carry cash so I had only 2 £1 coins on me.
Despite only having the fridge on I was woken up by the loss of power at 0530, and every morning for our stay despite putting more coins in. It did not add to the idea of a restful holiday.
I gather that the price per night had been reduced because of the introduction of metering, but I’d prefer to pay up front and not have to worry about having cash and the power running out.
The entrance is not well signposted. There is a small sign about 8” square partly obscured by vegetation with the site name on.
We approached from the A35 from Honiton, its a sharp left turn - before the caravan has straightened up the site is a sharp right turn and we missed it.
The lane narrows sharply after the turning for the site drive and turning a 7. 3m caravan around on a narrow road neither endeared me to the locals nor helped my peace of mind.
The view from the pitch was stunning, and the Jacob sheep interesting.
The walk to the local pub was easy and worth the walk.

Fully endorse Slydows review. Fantastic site, very well maintained with lovely views of Colmer Hill and well worth the climb.
Symondsbury estate is lovely with craft shops and farm shop and great cafe in beautiful surroundings.
Great pub just down the lane too. Bus stop for Jurassic Hopper just up road. We took it to go to Lime Regis, well worth the trip. A walk into Bridport is doable otherwise bus or taxi for £4.
Very friendly owners or very kindly left us some great Dorset Apple cake and cream along with Dorset tea as a welcome gift. Also looking forward to trying her jam!
Road noise is only downside but it does go quiet at night and when I took my hearing aids out! But it also means easy access. Visited West Bay, well you must!
A site that is a real credit to the hardworking owners.
Ps electric meter was a negligible cost and I use a CPAP at night. Fully serviced pitches grass and hardstanding and double sized. Great shower rooms and information hut too. Highly recommend.

A stunning site, so well kept.
The owners don’t live on site but are there at least twice a day. A lovely welcome basket for every pitch on arrival.
The showers and toilets are spotless.
Covid regulations are followed to the letter.
The view up to Colmers hill is spectacular and well worth a walk up there for the amazing views.
It’s a short walk to the coast with various routes, see OS maps.
West Bay is worth a visit but avoid weekends !
Don’t miss the market in Bridport on Wednesday and Saturdays, the Saturday one we visited was like a brocante market in France.
The pitches are well spaced, hard standing with electric and water on each.
The only drawback as others have mentioned is the very busy A35, which is only over the hedge. It does quieten off in the evenings.
The area has so much to offer you don’t have to stay by your caravan all day at all.

We have just stayed on this site for seven nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Easy to find location with great views over fields towards Colmer's Hill. Excellent facilities for a CL.
There are 2 shower/toilets, we didn't have to wait during our stay, showers are 20p. The chemical waste and grey water points are well positioned.
It's got the biggest dog run I've ever seen. There's an information room with info about the local area, also fresh eggs when they're available (you have to be quick, they go almost immediately).
It is perfectly located for Bridport with good selection of shops, restaurants an bars. The bus stop is just outside the site, ideal for motorhomers, we took buses to Lyme Regis and Weymouth.
There is a pub in the village, The Ilchester Arms, which serves great food and has a good selection of beers.
There is some road noise but we didn't find it too bad. Nic and her husband were most welcoming and helpful.
We will definitely be returning.

Totally love this site with it's convenient location and good facilities for a great price.
We've visited many times since it opened because we love the site's great location in beautiful Dorset with the town of bridport only a 20 min walk away or the bus stop just 5 mins from site.
The site has great facilities and is run by a lovely couple who are good to talk to and very helpful and friendly.
Every plot has it's own hardstanding and electricity/water supply and there are 2x showers/toilets on site too.
Nearby are lovely walks and a great local pub - The Ilchester Arms at Symondsbury (10 mins walk).
The main A35 road is nearby so do expect some road noise which quietens right down at night and for us is not an issue.
In all a lovely site which we will always return to.
