We (parents and young adult son and a labrador) stayed here as a stop off on a longer trip northwards. The site is entered through a key card barrier and is very clean and well laid out.
The owners (on site) and other campers (nearly all caravans or large motorhomes) were very friendly. The facilities: loos/washing up/showers are spotless and the showers are very nice, with good flow. The site is near a small village and a pub, we were told, but we weren't aware of any shops.
Our van was given a central pitch (pretty much behind THE olive tree) and we had level hard standing, grass, a picnic table and option of electric hookup - which we didn't need. We had space for a pup tent. It was a hot night and we slept with the windows open and felt perfectly safe and the site was quiet. There were no fires/bbqs allowed - so no smoke.
Dogs are allowed on site, on lead, and there are places very near to go for a longer walk along the canal (and swing by the pub. ) or across the road if you want to let your dog have a run off lead.
The site is in the middle of farm land so there is farming going on (tractors/ ploughs etc) but nothing too bothersome, and it is convenient for the A1, so there is a bit of background/faraway traffic noise.
If we had been staying for longer I would have preferred to camp at the side of the site rather than in the middle, but we did have a nice view and watched the sun set as we ate our dinner, and, we were very convenient for the facilities!
A very nice start to our trip!

First time away in a motorhome. We booked by phone a few days before we arrived. We were met at the security gate when we arrived by the site wardens lovely people we were shown to our hardstanding pitch.
We didn't have the electric hook up but all pitches seem to have it. The shower and toilet block were very modern and cleaned to a high standard. Pitches are mostly level.
Nice walks along the chesterfield canal. There is a spar shop 10 min walk from the site and the town of retford a 5 minute drive away.
The site is set back away from the main road behind an old petrol garage which is now used as a carwash the entrance is to the left of the carwash area and easily missed but 10 out of 10 for the wardens.
Some works going on around the site landscaping etc but didn't distract from the look of the site. We really enjoyed our stay here despite the weather
We will return as soon as we can.

Loved the quiet aspect and plenty of room.
Didn't like that we had to keep dogs on lead when in the dog walking field. Understand on lead when on site - no problem. Though good off lead walking across the road.

Having visited the site as a tent camper we upgraded to being a seasonal pitch after purchasing a caravan and awning.
The facilities are second to none as also are the resident wardens Roy and Joan who are more than helpful in every situation.
The market town of Retford is buzzing with shops and coffee shops and restaurants.
There is a pub half a mile in both direction. Also the adult site has 24hr security.
You can also order takeaway food delivery to site.

A fantastic quiet site.
Joan was well organised and helpful. Facilities were spotless.
We needed to be in Retford, which is a short drive with well stocked with shops.
The Brew Shed was a great evening meal.

This is a nice site, with good, clean, modern facilities - in the facilities, you're entertained 24 hours a day by Capital Radio Extra. The site becomes less attractive as you get further away from the road. There's a potential for great sunsets, as the ground falls away to the west. The present wardens are pleasant and helpful.
As far as we could see, the main local attraction is the Chesterfield Canal, which you can join about 500 yards from the site. Walking north, the first pub we came to (The Gate) was permanently closed, and the second, (The Boat) was closed on a Tuesday lunchtime.
Apart from the canal, I'm not sure why anyone would choose to stay here - but it's worth reading Chapter 15 of Bill Bryson's Notes from A Small Island to get a brief flavour of Retford and points west. We were told that people who live near the coast come here to get away from the holiday crowds.
Being an adults only site, it may be a good choice during school holidays, when sites that welcome children are fully booked.

Stayed at olive tree campsite at clarborough for a couple of days. Couldn’t use toilet facilities due to covid restrictions.
Well kept site with stunning views.
The wardens on site where very friendly and helpful could do enough for you.
Thanks for a great stay will be back.
