We were met on arrival by a charming lady at reception who was extremely helpful & booked us in quickly & efficiently. Our pitch was a corner pitch which was very flat & easy to erect the tent on. Our EHU was easily accessible with the added bonus of a water tap on. Every so often there was a refuse bin which made things a lot easier. These were emptied nearly every day.
The toilet blocks were very clean & tidy with all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. The showers were always hot & I for 1 did not mind paying 20p for 4 mins.
All the staff were very friendly & extremely helpful especially the bar/restaurant manager. The bar/restaurant area was always clean & very reasonably priced. They did not feel the need to extort money from you as you were a captive audience. The small pool was an added bonus & helped us amuse the kids a couple of times, as did the putting green.
The surrounding area is abundant with things to do;Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument, Blair Drummond Safari Park etc. The beauty of the area is superb & not to be missed.
All in all, this site offers everything you could wish for & more, Highly recommended!

Spent a very pleasant week from Monday 23rd June to Monday 30th June at Balgair Castle Holiday Park staying in a rental caravan, toilet blocks were kept extremely clean, play area was kitted out with swings & climbing equipment.
The bistro bar is very good value for money, all the staff were friendly & helpful
The site is well placed to vist Stirling, Loch Lomond & Falkirk.

The directions given take you over the Fintry hills which is very beautiful but not the easiest route for a caravan. It is more suitable if you continue on the road through Lennoxtown and then turn right and go around the hills. This site was fantastic a really warm welcome and a choice of pitches when we arrived as the Scottish schools had just returned. A small shop on site but you need to have milk with you as it is a half hour drive to nearest shops. The site was clean and very well maintained with breathtaking views. The bistro and other facilities are great the staff were brilliant and very helpful. The swimming pool is clean and heated. The site was very quiet during the week but filled up with people at the weekend and became less appealing to us. Lots of families with young children who didn't respect the site. One family let their two young children pull branches off a young tree and didn't like me asking them to stop. The site staff work hard to make this a brilliant place to stay and do their best to discourage poor behaviour but sometimes it is up to the users. The toilet and shower block were really clean and well maintained. A great base to visit places like the Falkirk Wheel and Lake Katrine and Blair Drummond Safari Park. We stayed for a week and ran out of time to do everything. A few minutes down the road is the Courtyard Cafe which was stunning. A working farm and dairy making their own ice cream combined with a beautiful interior design studio. We would have loved to stay longer and would definitely return or try one of the other sites in this group. Thank you to the staff who made this a lovely holiday.

Just back from a trip to Balgair Castle to meet up with some UKCS friends.
It is an excellent site at the foot of the Campsie Hills and the views from the site are stunning.
The site is well run by helpful staff and is kept immaculately clean. There is a fenced off dog exercise area, a large fenced off children's play area, a small heated outdoor pool and a bar serving meals to eat in or take away.
There was always plenty of hot water available.
Limited provisions are available at the sports centre in Fintry about a mile away, but the nearest shops and cash machines are about 6 miles away at either Balfron or Kippen. The site really could do with a small shop selling milk, bread and other essentials.
The ground was rather stony in the area where we pitched, so make sure that you have some rock pegs.
Most of the roads leading to Fintry are very narrow, some single track with passing places and potholes, so use a map to get there, not a satnav or you are liable to have a difficult drive.
The site is only about 15 miles from Stirling and Blair Drummond Safari Park, and also fairly close to both Glasgow and Loch Lomond so there is plenty to see in the area.

As new caravanners, this was our third trip since picking up our new van at the beginning of April.
We were met at the site by 2 girls who were very friendly and welcoming. The site is well laid out and the scenery is amazing. It is really private and peaceful.
The toilet block is really clean and modern with plenty hot water and nice music.
This site is a hidden gem and we will go back later this year.

All in all a good short break, given that the weather was very variable from lightning storms to brilliant sunshine. Literally wellies off sun cream on one minute and drenching rain the next.
Plus points:
Stunning location with beautiful views
Very accommodating and helpful reception staff
Large green pitches in a very pretty location
Great outdoor play-park, fenced off and very safe
Clean toilets and friendly staff in the bar and restaurant
Nice outdoor pool (although water was a bit cold at first!)
Cute animal area with friendly goats and chickens (a big hit with our four-year old!)
Free basic timer showers near pool and updated 20p shower block for a bit more luxury.
Handy base to explore the local Safari Park, Castle, Farmpark, and Nature reserve.
Fabulous and very reasonable Courtyard Café within walking distance from the park – the icecream milkshakes and ploughman’s are great!
Small minus points (as in previous reviews)
No fault of the owners but there can be a bit of snobbery towards camping kids from the ‘park kids’ – we were asked if we were poor and if we thought the meals in the bar were big portions.
Several pitches near us were flooded and water logged (T60-65) but it was very wet weather
No hot water in dishwashing area on several occasions
The restaurant was nice but only open 5-9 and l a few items were off the menu so make sure you pack food.
No shop – nearest one is a couple of miles away at the sports centre, but there’s a good general shop in Kippen. Perhaps they should consider selling the basics, bread, milk, eggs, bacon and so on in the bar.
That said, we really enjoyed the camp and extended our stay and would recommend it for family campers.

1st time camping in a long time, 3 families with kids, had a great time here, great facilities and location, staff all friendly too. We had great weather and this was a bonus. Only downside was no shop on site even for the basics. Had a meal in club house and could not fault it, 10 of us where all pleased with service and food, great swimming pool but can get a bit chilly, great play park too. There is a great coffee shop/farm on the road to fintry well worth a visit!

Spent 2 days at this campsite first time here and good impression. Kids loved the outside pool and playpark. Pitches level, a bit squishy but this due to heavy rain. Had a meal in the clubhouse which was lovely and good value for money as big portions. Toilets clean and warm. Only downside as mentioned before was no shop on site so stock up before you get there. Loads of room for a shop so don't know quite why the owners don't put one on site as I am sure it would be a benefit to them too! We will be back!

We felt this site was tidy and well maintained, facilities such as the park and swimming pool were ideal for kids.
Tent pitches were a little bit moist after heavy rain but staff were very easy going about letting us pick the driest ground.
Toilets were clean and noise levels were acceptable at night.
It would be slightly better if there was a small on site shop where we could have picked up essentials, milk, bread etc but overall a very nice site we would definitely visit again

Just back from weekend camping at Balgair castle. Last time we stayed was nearly 17 years ago !
Great tent pitch, flat and close to the recently refurbished shower block. The shower block was lovely one of the best that we've used over the years. 20p required for 3 minute shower.
Good facilities for kids, nice play park, outdoor pool, putting green (small charge) and area for football / ball games.
Had a lovely meal at bistro on the Friday evening, 7 people and everyone enjoyed the food from starters thru to pudding !
Staff friendly and helpful, we will definitely visit again, lovely site in beautiful location.
