The Rowston Site is well sign posted off the main Tenby road. Excellent position for visiting Saunderfoot and Tenby, can be walked but a bit of a trek.
There is a local shop nearby in New Hedges which was well stocked. Near by pubs and chip van opposite in Rumble ways.
The pitches were a decent size but the pitches also slope quite considerably and we could not get level. No help or advice on pitching, not good as a single parent with disabled person.
You need a token for the showers and the top shower block was tried and dated.
We stayed during the August bank holiday so the site was full and very busy.
The site was very pretty and close to Tenby and Saunderfoot but not that friendly.

We found this site in New Hedges after driving to Tenby following a very rough night in a field in Mwnt, Cardigan. Our poor tent had taken a major battering in the 60 miles an hour wind and had started to collapse in the early hours of the morning so we gathered up all our gear and headed towards Tenby where we bought a tent repair kit and found Rowston. The site itself was really well set out and we were greeted by a very sympathetic and helpful lady who promptly had us pitched in a very sheltered space before we knew it! The park is lovely and is set on a hill so you have great views of the sea - fab! My other half was in his element on his road bike and went off every morning in all directions exploring the place!
There's a shop and pub close by in case you fancy a change. There's a play area for children and the site observes a speed limit on the roads. The shower and wc facilities are good and clean, plenty of shower blocks dotted around and there's water points all over the site. As for Tenby itself it's not changed since we both went in our teens and we had a real nostalgia trip. We are planning on going back in July again and looking forward to it already.

Lovely campsite.
Close to tenby, we took the scenic walk into tenby, its quite a trek but lovely route.
There's a shop just down the road.
Facilities were really good, nice and clean.
This is the second time we have visited and would definitely return again.
We arrived late, this wasn't a problem as we had telephoned ahead and they left our shower tokens. In the phone box.
Would highly recommend, there is lots of open space to play games. Can get a little noisy sometimes but hey people are having fun.
This was the first place I went camping and have caught the camping bug!

Rowston was easy to find as it sits on the main road between Saundersfoot and Tenby so some traffic noise was evident, you can walk to both resorts but Tenby is closer.
There is a local shop nearby in New Hedges which was well stocked. The pitches were a decent size but the grass was long and unkempt.
The pitches also slope quite considerably and we could not get nowhere near level. You need a token for the showers.
This site is very family orientated with children in abundance that whizzed past our pitch on their scooters and bikes.
We planned to stay two nights but left early.

I have just come back from an Easter weekend away at this site. The staff are friendly and helpful. This site is clean, tidy and quiet, a nice place to pitch a tent and get away from it all. It has a large play area for the children, which they loved and a shop nearby which has all you would need. All the tent pitches have an electricity supply and our tent was on a flat pitch. Being Easter we expected the site to be busy, and it was, but it didn't feel crowded. The shower/toilet blocks are clean and even at this busy bank holiday they were not busy, you do need a token to use the shower or bath but these do supply lots of hot water. There are plenty of dish washing sinks and drainers. All in all this is a lovely site and I'm going to come back here again shortly. I would definitely recommend this camp site.

2 0f us and a puppy camped for 3 days and found it an absolute stunning site with gorgeous views of the surrounding areas , on clear days it was stunning
The owners on site were really friendly. The shop stocked with essentials and bits of local produce, which is quite important to us. They had chickens running round which supplied the shops with fresh eggs
lovely washing facilities, if not a tad cold on rainy days, as they are in a sort of barn, but there was everything we needed and were extremely clean. The park itself is a little hilly with a few walks on and off site. There is a lovely but very steep walk to a private beach at the bottom of the field the dog enjoyed the walk
Nearby saundersfoot was stunning and had great little shops and a fab butchers, pubs and restaurants

We (2 adults, 2 kids 11+12) stayed on this site for four (wet) nights and found the place generally good. Toilets, showers and wash-up(10p???) clean and hot. Kids play area was a bonus and the kids found a games room as we were leaving. The nearest beach (waterwynch) is quite private with no road access, Saundersfoot is about a 40 minute walk, Tenby about 20 minute walk with all you could ask for on a seaside holiday, and the shop outside the site has most bits you may need. Good bus services too.
Negatives - this site seems to cater for caravanners and statics as a priority, we were offered 3 pitches and took the one which was least swamplike, the camping field was REALLY muddy. Also, it was noisy at nighttime with televisions blaring and people being noisy and generally not having respect for other campers. Plus for a site of this size and price (it was £25/night)
All in all its a good, but not a raving review.

We have just returned from 6 nights at this site, the weather overall was mixed and when the rain came down the grass pitches where difficult to get on and off.
Overall we really enjoyed Tenby it was a lovely town with a great range of restaurants and pubs that catered for most budgets and tastes. The site was well located just a 5 minute drive or 25 minute walk into the town.
In regards to the site I suppose our feedback is a little mixed, although we found the staff where friendly you did not see a lot off them. In regards to the pitches they are mostly on a slope unless you pay for the super pitches. Although we had chocks we still found it very difficult to get the van level. I would suggest given the nature of the pitches they should have ready supply of planks to help out.
The showers where ok, but in the top shower block they where hot and you could not adjust the temp it would not be possible for Children to put up with them. Given this is not the cheapest site in the world the additional 20p for each shower is a little tough to take never mind the 10p to wash your pots. Although every pitch appeared to have electricity the 6 amp fuse was a complete pain you could not use heaters at all and every thing else was one appliance at a time.
Overall the site was well presented and well maintained but is clearly geared up for the static vans and not tourers. There are just too many little things that make the stay a bit of a pain. Such as to fill up your water you have to hold the taps down and the tap type made it hard to put any tubes on. The chemical toilet was not easy to use as again fixed taps.

We visited this site last week of June and quite good weather [one night & morning of rain]. Booking was a bit of a chore as they don't take card payments over the phone. As we didn't book until a week before, the booking form & cheque for the deposit had to be in the post Monday morning so that they received it by Wednesday. On arrival booking in was easy and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful.
The pitch was on a bit of a slope which made levelling the van a bit awkward. The kids play area was excellent as we didn't see much of them for a few hours. The showers and toilet blocks were a bit of a pain as you had to key in a code to gain entry and had to stock up with tokens for the showers, 20p for a token which lasted about five minutes, they could also do with up dating. It was very central for exploring Tenby & saundersfoot & the surrounding area. The local shop, just outside the site was quite well stocked and the food at the local pub was excellent. Overall the site was quite pleasant, a little on the expensive side for what facilities there were.

Stayed for the first week of August 2008 when the heavens were open for most of the week. The pitches are sloped, but thankfully we were in a good position and our pitch didn't get too wet. The showers are well worth the 20p. Hot and powerful and it was an effort to get the kids out of them, lovely after a day out. The playground facilities are brilliant and in a safe location. We don't remember hearing traffic noise and we were fairly close to the site entrance. The walk down to the secluded beach through woodland is lovely and well worth it. Our only regret was due to the weather we didn't get to spend a day down there. However, we've booked the site for July 09 and are hoping the weather will be kind. The site is in a great position, you can walk to Tenby in around half an hour, you've got a nice little beach on the doorstep and Saundersfoot isn't too far away. I believe you can safely walk there, although we chose to take the bus which stopped right outside the site entrance. The local shop had everything you need, plus there's a nice pub a bit further on, should you not wish to cook. Realistically in good weather, you could park the car up and not need to move it all week. We're certainly looking forward to going back this year and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to others.
