Me and my partner stayed here last year, the site is made up of edged hedges in several sections and that makes them private and quiet, this site is lovely for couples, there isn't a club house on site with a bar but the receptionist was very kind and explained how far we where from town and how far away with nearest shops and public houses are. The toilets and showers, where clean with electric, just maybe not enough of them the section that we stayed at only had three showers and three toilets, which caused a build up in queueing, this camp site is very quiet. Its a nice place to go if you wanted to go somewhere were it is relaxing. I must warn you that Tenby town centre is too far to walk as me and my partner found out it took us over an hour to walk there and so we booked a taxi back.

Sorry, sorry, sorry, but I have to disagree with all the negative feedback on this site! Myself, wife and 5 kids have been there numerous times in our caravan and in our opinion they have been the most consistent providers of a quality camping experience. Yes its 20p for a shower, but its warm clean and if 20 pence is too much on top of the reasonable £20 a night (all inc) then, hey why not just stink! after all the pitch sizes are a fair size and if you smell a bit no one will notice! Wow 10p to do the dishes, that will break the bank wont it? NO IT WON'T it's cheaper than paper plates, unless of course you are on your own, and if you object to 10peee maybe you deserve to be alone. As for the pitches, no they are not level, but how many sites near the sea are, a bit of common sense would tell most campers that by the sea means a gradient of some kind, otherwise our little tents and caravans would float off as the tide came in! So hey all in all Rowston is good vfm and if you know of better please mail me. Many thanks to Andrea and Staff for you friendly help.

Lovely site very well cared for. Pitches good size. Showers work on a token basis 20p each. Very clean, only complaint showers were too hot. Washing up water 10p meter which is a little bit cheeky when you are paying £15 a night. Would definitely return. Good positon for exploring. Diner on site does excellent cooked breakfast.

This was our first visit to this site. As we needed to go from a sunday to sunday we found it difficult for a lot of sites willing to do this. Rowston agreed and sent a brouchure but when I rang to confirm and ask a couple of questions I was told this was not possible. After much arguing we were able to do the dates we required. First impressions were very good, until we tried to level our caravan and we ended up having to use the spare wheel to get the height on one leg. The caravan step was such a long way to climb we had to ask for some bricks to higher it. Which were quickly dropped off to us. The grounds were kept very clean and pitches were kept mowed. We were asked the size of our unit when we booked and as such had a good size pitch but looking round some of the others seemed very cramped. The childrens playground was very good. Our 7 year old found plenty to keep her occupied. We were quite suprised to find you had to pay 10p each time for hot water to wash the pots. My husband (whos jobs it is to do the pots) said you got about 2 inches of hot water in the bottom of a huge sink. The showers were also charged this time 20p each time. The toilet block near the camping field had 2 showers which you could control the temperature but the showers which were unisex were really hot and I wouldnt put either of my children under them. The toilet block was not the cleanest I have seen, they did smell and I didnt see anyone ever clean the although they must have. We were under the impression that both Tenby and Saundersfoot were within walking distance but we thought it was much to far to even try with two children, also the roads from tenby seemed quite dark. We did walk to the beach next to the site through the wood which was very pleasant, but there are about 20 (some very steep) steps to get down. We took a lock and left the push chair at the top. Lastly just a warning it is all uphill on the way back up.

September 2004 This was a nice park, and reasonably quiet, but I suspect it would get horrifically busy over the main summer months. The facilities could do with a bit of updating for the rates asked but they were cleaned regularly.
It is definately a family orientated park, and for those who don't mind noise from other people's tvs. The best time to go is definately out of the main holidays if you want peace.
However, the wildlife definately makes up for it. You can see seagulls teaching their offspring how to look after themselves, lots of rabbits at night and, if you are lucky, a visit from a hedgehog as we did every night.
It is not as close to the beach as the web site makes out and it is a very small beach, but there is good exploring ground there for youngsters.

August 2004 We camped here for a week in August and thought the site was great. We had three adults and three kids (2x12 and 1x5) in our party and a Vango Colarado 600 DLX tent. Pitch sizes were nominally 16ft x 24ft, but liaising beforehand meant that we didn’t have any problems pitching our slightly larger tent. As one of our party was partially disabled I talked with the site owners when we booked to check out accessibilty, they were very helpful and booked us a pitch close to the shower block on the lower field. There are still a few steps to get to the loo though, so wheelchair users would need to be pitched on the caravan park.
We all got soaked pitching the tent and went off to the on site diner for a cup of tea and a meal at about 8pm. The staff there were fantastic, putting on the heater to help dry our clothes and staying open an extra half hour for us to finish the meal. Food was good too and well priced, homemade meat pie and lasagne especially. Unfortunately we found out on our last day that they won’t be there after September which is a shame.
Access to the toilet block is by combination lock and showers cost 20p (get tokens when you first arrive if you want an early morning shower the next day.) Hot water in the washing up area was 10p, both showers and W/Up gave plenty of water and I didn’t mind paying the extra as it meant less wastage by thoughless adults and kids mucking about. Facilities were regularly cleaned and there was a family bathroom. Also there was a laundrette on site with plenty of machines.
The site has a good play area and a big space for playing ball games, both of these are some way from the tent field so younger kids would need to be escorted there and back.
THe site is well maintained, and has an abundance of flower beds and borders with a good variety of planting. There is a beautiful shady 10 min woodland walk to a secluded small beach area which unfortunately is not wheelchair accessible, but has plenty of sand at low tide.
Very close is a Londis store which opened at 7.00am and closed late (8pm if not later), and a great family pub with a steakhouse restaurant and kids entertainment in the family room.
Costs were £20 a night for all of us which included electricity (which we didn’t need), which although expensive I didn’t begrudge paying due to the quality of the site facilities.
We had (very) extensive rain in the week we were there, but the slight slope to the tent field kept the field from flooding to any great extent.
Tenby is only five minutes away by car and I would recommend the North Beach park and ride only £1 to park all day and a free bus ride into the walled town (which is closed to traffic during the day).

16 June 2004 Pre-booked a pitch for 7 nights at this site, even though I thought the £15 per night cost was pretty steep. Good Points: Great location conveniently in between Tenby and Saundersfoot and easy access to any activities you could wish for. The site slopes down towards a wooded valley which leads to Waterwynch Bay/Beach which is a lovely sheltered cove surrounded by cliffs, caves and plenty of rock pools to explore - perfect for our three year old son. The first day we had the beach to ourselves and thereafter only a few people disturbed the idyll. The site itself is very well kept with a very good play-park for children and a large lawned play area with a football goal. There is also plenty of wildlife around, if you like birds then robins, blackbirds, woodpeckers, wrens abound plus rabbits aplenty and even bats at night. Bad points: Our pitch was at the top of the site nearest to a very busy and noisy road. It is surfaced with that very coarse chippings which doesn't help and the sound level doesn't drop that much at night either, especially at the weekend when much of the area's boy/girl racers use it as a testing track. Even though the pitch price (note we didn't require an electric point) was £15, there was no washing-up facility and the showers were extra, via 20p token. The showers did not seem particularly numerous though we didn't have any problem getting one at this time of the stay. Otherwise a very good holiday, Tenby and the surrounding areas are superbly geared up for the British family holiday maker, can recommend Ocean Commotion (indoor kids play) for wet days and Fecci's Fish and Chips for grub.

july 2002 The facilities are clean and up-to-date but the pitch was terrible. With no choice over where we pitched, we ended up on a big slope down towards the road, which was difficult with a toddler in the family, and everything sliding off the table when we ate! If you were fortunate enough to be allocated next to the play area you would have had a lovely shady pitch under the trees and fairly flat too. Shop down the road with Post office was very good.

August 2002 A nice site but not cheap- £18 per night for a trailer tent with electrics. In addition showers and washing up water is pay as you go. There is a bathroom and a seperate baby's bathroom with large sinks to dunk them. Facilities are clean and seemed quite new. There is a nice play area -it is enclosed and safe for little ones. No shop onsite but only a couple of minutes walk away.

July 2000 Really great site.
Very well landscaped and incorporates touring areas, a tent field and static caravan areas (all privately owned and maintained to very high standards).
The tent area is a sheltered sloping field with flat areas to pitch on, although it's pretty much entirely up to you where to set down.
I think there are two amenity blocks. We used the one closest to the tents which was quite close. Facilities were clean and tidy (space to plug your own hair dryer in). Showers were metered. They have a separate showering enclosure that is uni-sex and very handy. It's under cover but there is no main door so I guess on a cold day you might feel it.
Great woodland walk to the sea. Children's play area. Take away. Laundrette.
A great place to spend a few days.
